Thoughts @Biggie?

No. He is about to turn 72 and has done absolutely nothing since losing Brady. Made horrible draft decisions and has turned the Patriots into a bad franchise without any skill position or playmakers.

Sounds like an improvement for the Falcons

It's Jerod Mayo, guess SoberChef won't be a Patriots fan. :p

The Patriots have chosen Jerod Mayo as Bill Belichick's successor and the 15th head coach in franchise history, sources told ESPN.

Big shoes to fill. Hope he is up for the challenge.

No one is prepared for the amount and type of racial slurs that are about to come his way.

Probably the best coach of all time.  But he is 71.  Has had losing seasons in 3 of the last 4, and hasn't won a playoff game in 5.  Virtually everyone from his coaching tree has failed as a head coach.

Good argument to be made that the game has now passed him by.

Honestly I’m not thrilled with the idea but I think this is the direction they are going. Guess it could be worse. I mean we suffered through Jim Mora Jr., Mike Smith, Bobby Petrino, Dan Quinn, and Arthur Smith.

Wat?  The AFC has lots of QBs that are "supposed" to be elite. The NFC sure didn't look worse this year.

Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Burrow, Tua, Jackson, Lawrence, Rodgers (yeah I know he played 1 down but he is still elite)

I would take my chances in the NFC and especially the NFC South.

Falcons have announced a second interview with Jim Harbaugh.
