CastletonSnob
Disney will bring Hulu content into Disney Plus and raise its ad-free prices - The Verge WWW.THEVERGE.COM Disney and Hulu will soon become one.
DarkStar189
I'm currently getting Disney,Hulu, and ESPN free through my Verizon account. I forget if it was home internet or wireless related. Don't remember there being an end date mentioned. I wonder if this will screw it up for me.
SaysWho?
I figured that would happen eventually, especially since they push the Hulu/Disney+ package first and foremost.
TheLeon
I know they’ve been adding more “mature” stuff to Disney+, but it’s gonna feel weird to boot up that app to watch The Americans, or the majority of FX content for that matter. Assuming “FX on Hulu” would still be a part of this.
Fizzzzle
Ah, if they raise their prices, I'm out. Disney is already my last used service and I haven't had Hulu in years. I'm definitely not paying more to combine them. Sailing the high seas is becoming more and more attractive for most things.

Reputator
I guess it depends on how much they raise the price for me. We do use Disney+ and Hulu (which we're borrowing) a lot.

CitizenVectron
This has been the case in Canada (and elsewhere) for a long time, and it's great. Here it's just called Disney+, but all the non-Disney stuff (Hulu, Fox, etc) is in the Star area of the app.

skillzdadirecta
I cast my vote for "HuDis" . In all seriousness I think I said on here before this is the type of consolidation we'll continue to see moving forward as the streamers get more and more competitive and leaner. stepee
I’m all for consolidation it got too crazy now with so many streaming apps it’s just hard to keep up with them.

I wonder if they’re raising prices just because the Hulu stuff will just be included. So it’s not really raising prices, just consolidating that too if you already subscribe to the full package. Kamusha
I know one of Chapek's goals with Disney + was to change the image of it being a service for only kids. That's why you have shit like the Deadpool now. It seems like this image-rebrand is continuing under Iger.

I believe that’s the idea, but if you’re currently only interested in one and not the other, you’ll be paying more for stuff you don’t care about. I wonder how this will work with my annual subscription to D+ (ad-free). It’s currently $80 a year and renews in November. Ad-free Hulu on its own costs a lot more than that.

I think that's going to be very good, just like the first two movies. That didn't have anything to do with the Disney+ image change. That happened because Disney bought 20th-century studios. Up until that point it was being branded as a family friendly steaming service, but they are clearly moving away from that.
