Florida's House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill that will strip The Walt Disney Co. of control over special district.

Some people like to think that this will hasten Disney's gradual exit of Florida, but I will bet they do the opposite and fall in line. There's nothing that corporations love more than fascism.

I haven't really been following this. I'm guessing that this plan to take control of the special district is a replacement for disastrous plan to get rid of it?

I don't really have a problem with Disney spending their own money to improve the area around them. I also don't have a problem with them not really controlling that area.

The only real issue here is that this is so clearly retaliation for Disney saying something the Governor didn't like. It's not even clear to me what they might do with control of the area. Decide that maybe the roads shouldn't be so nice?

I mean, what’s the point of constantly complaining about free speech if you can’t use the government to punish people for things they’ve said??
