CitizenVectron Posted August 23, 2022 Share Posted August 23, 2022 Oklahoma's HB 1775 is one of those bills banning teachers from talking about race, discrimination, trans issues, etc. It prohibits discussion of "discrimination on the basis of race or sex in the form of bias, stereotyping, scapegoating, classification, or the categorical assignment of traits, morals, values, or characteristics based solely on race or sex," and allows the state to remove accreditation for schools that violate it. School boards are so afraid that they are suspending and firing people who might have violated it. This is one such case: Because the school district removed so many books, the teacher shared a link to the public library if students wanted access to any books they wanted. Fucking idiots calling Democrats snowflakes, and these people can’t allow a free link to read a book. Fuck your states and their iron thumb rules of what you’re allowed to read. If they can allow white nationalists to march/spew their hate speech in public, but god forgive if you read about racism in a book at a public library. The hypocrisy is just mind blowing and something needs to be done to stop this unnecessary censorship.
