I will always have a huge soft spot for There's Nothing Wrong with Love but Keep It Like A Secret is an undeniable classic. I saw them live back in '08. Not the most exciting band to watch play but they sounded good at least.
Kamusha
My middle school years were a bit more embarrassing but in high school I started getting into some good shit that I'll still revisit periodically. Some of the best stuff has themes that hit differently now as an adult. The Suburbs may be my favorite album by them for personal reasons, but Neon Bible was the first album by them that came out after I started listening to them. I was super hyped for this one and it fully lived up to expectations. It has a larger scope than Funeral in both its themes and sound and maybe that's why I prefer it. I was so pumped when I was able to pick up the last remaining "Superman cover" that was at my local CD Warehouse. It still holds up and it's opened itself up to me more now that I'm older and gone through some highs and lows. Because this albums contains both. Unfortunately I have to skip John Wayne Gacy as an adult. It's a great song but since I started working with children it hits way differently. Merriweather Post Pavilion came out half a year before my 20th birthday, so it just barely qualifies as a teen album for me. But I would be remiss if I were to leave out one of my favorite albums of all time. I still will go through phases every few years where I'll put this back into regular rotation for a couple months. Loved it back then, but I vibe with it on a deeper level now. I got into Radiohead in 2004, and at the time the wait for the fabled "LP 7" felt like an eternity. There was so much speculation by fans leading up to it. And it totally delivered. There are Radiohead albums I prefer over this, but it's maybe their most listenable. Saw them live on the In Rainbows tour just two months shy from my twenties, a fitting way to say goodbye to my teens.

CastlevaniaNut18
I’m really not a music buff, but I went through an Eminem phase back in the day. Bought The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show a few weeks ago and was surprised that I still remembered so many of the lyrics and liked them 20 years later. Ghost_MH
I was a teen in the 90s and a big fan of rap and hip hop. There are too many albums from that era that are still fantastic. Keeping it just to my highschool days there's... GZA's Liquid Swords Ghostface's Ironman Lauren Hill's Miseducation of Lauren Hill Mos Def's Black on Both Sides Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star Raekwon's Only Built for Cuban Linx The Roots' Things Fall Apart DMX's It's Dark and Hell is Hot Gang Starr's Moment of Truth Common's Like Water for Chocolate Now I want to find videos for a bunch of these albums. Spoiler I had forgotten how good the video for You Got Me is.

I actually like 'it was written' better than illmatic. I wish Nas stayed on the same trajectory. I don't blame him, though, if I got rich and married Kylie Minogue I'd probably also lose most of my artistic inspiration. 1 hour ago, gamer.tv said: To make it a bit more local. It's just that so his music from that era just sort of blurs together into a uber collection of forgettable songs mixed with good ones peppered with absolute bangers. Nas is a great example of someone that can really pump out lines, but really needed someone in his corner telling him to slow down.
Keyser_Soze
I would say that Illmatic is the better album if anything has very few "not good" songs while It Was Written is still pretty high in consistency and has more songs than Illmatic so it makes it technically a better album but, no. Then his next best album would come with Stillmatic

That what gives It was Written the edge for me. That's the same reason why Gang Starr's Moment of Truth is still my favorite album from my highschool days. An entire half of that album still hits hard and the other half rarely misses. I don't really hold it against an album if the theoretical b-side isn't as good as the a-side if the a-side is wild. Keyser_Soze
I really didn't get into Nas until maybe 2009 / 2011 so the nostalgia isn't there for me. I didn't listen to a ton of rap growing up and part of it was because I didn't want my mom hearing "the n word" - I dunno it was weird, which is why I gravitated more towards ICP in those days. (No N word just talking about your nuts and cracking people's heads open, very wholesome stuff) plus I was more into rock and they kind of fit into that area. There are things you tell yourself growing up that suck so you end up not listening to them. Then revisiting them later you realize you're a dumb ass kid. 1. Rap sucks 2. Female Vocals - Eh you need some guy growling too to know you're kvlt (or the woman needs to do the growling herself) But #2 comes back to bite itself on the ass these days. Bands like Epica or Lacuna Coil have beautiful female vocals and some guy swoops in with cookie monster vocals and ruins it. It's unfortunate after all these years they haven't kicked those guys out of the band. That being said I always had like Dr. Dre but I don't think I got one of his albums until 2001 came around. Derek
'What the hell happened to me?' Adam Sandler 1996 With skits like 'Sex or Weight Lifting?' and lines like 'This reminds me of the time I went to a 60 year old man's house and made him fuck me in the ass in front of his family.' It's a classic that still holds up today! Also, Chanukah Song.

Also who's never heard Evanescence? - Not ruined by Cookie Monster just some douche guy. Have you heard Season of Ghosts? I had first heard the vocalist in Blood Stain Child and she was by far the best part of the band. But from what I understand they treated her like trash so she left and formed another band (SoG) Probably would be right up your alley if it isn't already part of your omega list of bands This is a good case of follow the vocalist and not the band. 🤔

I was wondering why Sophia wasn’t on the album, I didn’t know that she left and started another band. Thanks for letting me know about Season of Ghosts because I definitely like the song of theirs that you posted, so I’m going to buy their albums.
