Spoiler

But Why Tho? - Jason Payne - 10 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is accessible for players of any skill level. It’s open enough to new players but offers what fighter vets need to stay invested in a new title. Good net code, interesting characters, and new features that make it stick out from previous iterations are the things that ensure longevity in the community.

ComicBook.com - Nick Valdez - 5 / 5

Everything feels carefully considered for those jumping into Street Fighter 6 as their first game in the series. But at the same time, there's clearly a ton to dig into for those who want to keep playing on deeper and more dedicated levels. Street Fighter 6 is just pure fun, and every punch hits hard, every kick feels great, and it's just so cool to look at. It's the most fun I've had with Street Fighter in years, and the great, hard hitting start to a powerful new era for the franchise.

Cultured Vultures - Ashley Bates - 10 / 10

A sublime fighting game masterpiece from a company at the peak of their powers, Street Fighter 6 is utterly incredible.

Daily Mirror - Scott McCrae - 5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 feels like it’s here to send a message that it’s still the top dog of the fighting game genre.

Daily Star - Tom Hutchison - 5 / 5

Full of content for all different types of gamer, whether that’s the one-vs-computer classic Street Fighter type or the player who loves to live online, making new pals.

But underneath it all is an excellent fighting game that is as addictive as it ever was and a joy to play.

Dexerto - Sayem Ahmed - 5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is a world-class fighting game that drips in style and confidence. In our 100+ hours put into the game, we’re confident that Street Fighter 6 is not only a GOTY contender, but one of the most impressive fighting games ever created.

Eurogamer.pt - Vítor Alexandre - Portuguese - 5 / 5

But at the same time it introduces with the Drive system a series of nuances and mechanics that enhance the strategy within the classic system, which will tell so much to veterans. Reinforced in the online component and more formative, it is the most friendly and simultaneously challenging Street Fighter. It injects new blood into an innovative, refreshing combat system that is at the same time endowed with the subtleties that make mastering a fighting game demanding.

GamesBeat - Mike Minotti - 5 / 5

Those miniscule grips aside, this is a masterful fighting game experience that excels in all the ways you want it to. It’s another standout from Capcom, which has entered something of a new golden era thanks to its revitalization of Resident Evil and the broadening global appeal of Monster Hunter. Street Fighter 6 is further proof that Capcom is on top of the gaming world these days.

GamesHub - Edmond Tran - 5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is an exceedingly good fighting game. But more than that, it’s an excellent training tool. It’s a fulfilling adventure. It’s a lively community gathering place. It’s an endearingly idealistic and inspiring world of appreciation for martial arts and friendly competition, exceptionally executed in every respect.

GamesRadar+ - Andi Hamilton - 5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 offers the most flexible, versatile, and expressive combat seen in the series to date. With its fantastic suite of game modes and diverse character roster, Street Fighter 6 has something to offer every type of fighting game fan.

Gaming Nexus - Joseph Moorer - 10 / 10

Capcom has given us a complete game right out of the box. The single player experiences are enormous. The online experience is perfect. Street Fighter lore is littered in every nook and cranny of this game. There are modes and modes within modes. This is one of the best Street Fighter games in the history of the franchise. If Capcom hurt you in the past, this is their apology. Street Fighter 6 is a new classic that people will be playing for years to come.

God is a Geek - Sean Smith - 10 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is without question the best fighting game package I have ever played, and will keep you going far longer than a one-on-one fighter has any right to be able to. A true classic.

Guardian - Patrick Lum - 5 / 5

With a flashy new array of combat moves and 'modern' controls that even beginners can use to create masterful moves, this is an addictive TKO

Hey Poor Player - Andrew Thornton - 5 / 5

Capcom may have made significant mistakes in the development of Street Fighter V, but it’s clear they were determined not to repeat them with Street Fighter 6. I can’t remember the last time a fighting game offered such a complete package, with something for every type of player. Combine that with best-in-class mechanics and a visual identity that truly sets it apart, and Street Fighter 6 is everything fighting game fans have been dreaming of. There’s no need to put your quarter on the machine to save your spot anymore. With Street Fighter 6, we can all have next.

Inverse - De'Angelo Epps - 10 / 10

Capcom’s latest takes everything you’d expect from the father of the fighting genre and turns it up to 10. There’s something for everyone here, with no fat or filler to ruin the experience. Street Fighter 6 is the best fighting game experience in a long time, and in the years to come, its impact and legacy could be every bit as massive as Street Fighter 2.

PCMag - Jeffrey L. Wilson - 5 / 5

With option-rich mechanics, community-centric online features, numerous entertaining modes, and excellent netcode, Street Fighter 6 is a fighting game both casual and hard-core genre fans will love.

Screen Rant - Jason Hon - 5 / 5

With everything that Street Fighter 6 includes, it's set the bar incredibly high for future fighting games. Online matches played flawlessly during the review period. The Battle Hub is an example of how online multiplayer game lobbies should be with a space where players can interact and even play other games together. A well-balanced roster of characters and new control options helps Street Fighter 6 stand tall as an excellent entry point for fighting games, while also containing the depth and precise gameplay that pros expect.

TheGamer - George Foster - 5 / 5

As a fighting game, Street Fighter 6 is pretty much flawless, but it’s the little details across the board that make it clear that this is a fighter for everyone and not just fans of the genre. A wild statement for a series that’s always felt more hardcore and impenetrable than the rest. Whether you’re a newcomer playing with Modern controls or a veteran with a fight stick and a vendetta, Street Fighter 6 feels like the most approachable and welcoming fighter I’ve ever played without ever once sacrificing its potential complexity and fighting spirit.

TheSixthAxis - Nick Petrasiti - 10 / 10

Street Fighter 6 doesn't need recommending to hardcore fighting fans – you all already know how incredible it is – but do I recommend it for more casual players? Street Fighter 6 has a real sense of community, welcoming all players old and new, teaching new tricks and providing something for those that just want a bit of fun. This is truly a fighting game for everyone.

Twinfinite - Keenan McCall - 5 / 5

It’s the epitome of what a fighting game should be, and I can’t wait to see how the series builds off of this return to form

Use a Potion - 10 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is an outstanding fighting experience that complements its stellar combat mechanics with addictive game modes. World Tour Mode is an absolute blast for those who want a story-driven experience, whilst the Battle Hub is fully fleshed out to keep competitive players coming back for years on end. Add to that the improved accessibility that makes it easy for newbies to dive right in, the wonderfully vibrant visuals that bring the action to life, and the fantastic roster of characters made up of iconic favourites and new faces, and it’ll be clear that Street Fighter 6 exceeds the high standards of the series. Well done, Capcom… you’ve delivered ANOTHER banger.

VG247 - Alex Donaldson - 5 / 5

It’s a must-have. And it might just be the most compelling overall fighting game package of all time.

VGC - Jordan Middler - 5 / 5

With the three titans of the fighting game space all releasing mainline entries this year, competition is going to be stiff, but Capcom is putting its best foot forward. The publisher’s incredible run continues with one of the most feature-rich, stylish, and enjoyable entries in franchise history.

Wccftech - Francesco De Meo - 10 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is in a league of its own, and one of the best fighting games in decades.

eXputer - Moiz Banoori - 5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 brings back the franchise from the dead and puts it back on the throne where it belongs

Impulsegamer - Paul Stuart - 4.9 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is arguably the best title of this brilliant series, an absolute joy to play with via new control schemes and leaves one breathless in execution. This is a must have game for fans both old and new to the series, and a crowning achievement in the evolution of the PS5.

COGconnected - Jaz Sagoo - 96 / 100

Street Fighter 6 is an incredible celebration of previous releases and a confident stride into the future. The new Drive System adds a multitude of layers to combat making fights the best they have ever been. Capcom’s new approach to single-player content with the World Tour is weird and wonderful even if it can get a little repetitive. The community-focused approach to online play is a step above its competitors and the amount of content is insane. Not only is Street Fighter 6 a worthy sequel, but it’s also the best fighter to date.

GamesCreed - Junior Onunkwo - 4.8 / 5

Not only does it restore faith from the fans, but there’s no doubt that Street Fighter 6 will be a significant factor as to why the fighting genre will most likely dominate the gaming world for the next few years or so. And obviously, there’s no surprise if it wins the Fighting game of the Year – despite Mortal Kombat 1 inevitably coming for that crown. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the series, from top to bottom, you are guaranteed the best experience from a Street Fighter game ever.

Areajugones - Ramón Baylos - Spanish - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is proof that we are facing the best Capcom of the decade. Shaping up as a before and after of the franchise, it is a game designed with obvious intentions to attract new people and, at the same time, preserve the incredible legacy that the veterans of the saga fell in love with in their day. It is the atonement for the ancient sins of a company that has known how to listen to its fans; it's a small step for Capcom, but a big step for the fighting game genre.

Bazimag - Hamidreza Ghaneei - Persian - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is an exceptional addition to this revered series, poised to secure its longevity for years to come. With its revolutionary combat mechanics and distinctive character designs, this title promises to captivate both players and spectators alike. Moreover, the implementation of novel control systems and offline modes, such as the Word Tour, offers new players a compelling incentive to explore the game. Overall, Street Fighter 6 is a masterpiece that has undoubtedly raised the bar for the entire franchise.

Capsule Computers - Travis Bruno - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 brings the series to the modern era with plenty of quality content spread across three modes and fluid online play that allows its impressive fighting mechanics to shine.

Destructoid - Chris Moyse - 9.5 / 10

Simply put, Street Fighter 6 is one of the very best entries in series history.

Digital Chumps - Ben Sheene - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is a profoundly rich and diverse fighting game, living up to the series' legacy. Crafted for everyone, the game entices experimentation, fun, and mastery through online play and a unique campaign that can acclimate all to the genre's complexities.

Everyeye.it - Antonello Gaeta - Italian - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is the new milestone of the genre. A mass of content never seen in fighting games, two distinct single player modes and an experimental and innovative online component.

Game Informer - Elijah Gonzalez - 9.5 / 10

Between its cohesive aesthetic, the bounty of clever features, and crisp central gameplay, it’s one of the most impressive entries the genre has seen in some time.

GameGrin - Mike Crewe - 9.5 / 10

The most complete Street Fighter title to date, Street Fighter 6 is a must-play for fighting game fans, and one to consider even if you're not familiar with the genre. An engaging, stylish beat 'em up that could well be king of the mountain for years to come.

Gamefa - Arman Zarmehr - Persian - 9.5 / 10

not only Street Fighter 6 introduces new features like drive, it also keeps the very core of the franchise intact. From ample content to Amazing soundtrack and lovely characters, Street Fighter 6 Delivers everything you could possibly want from a fighting game.

Gamers Heroes - Casey Scheld - 95 / 100

Street Fighter 6 is the complete package, with decades of refinement proudly on display. Whether you’re flying solo or hitting the streets with others, this is the definitive Street Fighter experience.

GamingTrend - Jack Zustiak, Abdul Saad - 95 / 100

Street Fighter 6 takes the series to the next stage with a wildly fun fighting system that emphasizes personal choice. Each mainline Street Fighter tends to define its era of fighting games in some way, and Street Fighter 6 confidently steps forward to that next era. From its battle system to its bevvy of modes such as World Tour, it dives deep into everything that makes fighting games great.

Generación Xbox - Pedro del Pozo - Spanish - 95 / 100

The keys to Street Fighter 6 are undoubtedly three: Spectacular, spacious and accessible. Its combat is a marvel of fun and the Battle Hub looks to have us hooked for a long time, but if you just want to try it, play with friends from time to time and pass the story to a single player, the World Tour mode and the Modern control will delight you. Few buts we can put to the one who, at the moment, is crowned as King of the Fight in this 2023 that seems like one of the most interesting of the genre for almost a decade. Let Mortal Kombat 1 and Tekken 8 hold on tight, because Street Fighter 6 is here to win.

Glitched Africa - Marco Cocomello - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 could be the best fighting game I have played in a very long time. I am no master at these games and I don’t run out to buy them at launch. However, the game is very fun to play and its real draw for me was its accessibility. I felt good at it even though I really wasn’t. Of course, this is also completely optional too so if you’re a veteran, you’ll enjoy this just as much as noob.

IGN Italy - Diego Cinelli - Italian - 9.5 / 10

Capcom once again sets a new standard for 2D fighting games. In addition to the advanced combat system and the excellent package of single-player modes, made up of numerous elements that find their balance in sharing the same resource (the Drive indicator), SF6 counts on more than a vast group of tutorials and alternative control schemes for every need.

Multiplayer First - Paulmichael Contreras - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is a contender for fighting game of the year. Between the plethora of game modes to choose from, a story mode that’s actually pretty entertaining, and what should hopefully be a robust online mode, players are spoiled for choice with this well-rounded package. Some of the grinding inherit with leveling up your character might annoy a few people out there, but considering the method to doing so involves simply playing through more excellent fights, you can’t really complain too much.

PSX Brasil - Ivan Nikolai Barkow Castilho - Portuguese - 95 / 100

Street Fighter 6 is another Capcom hit. It's a complete package, offering plenty of content and accessibility for every type of player. The fighting mechanics are varied, fun and take a long time to master. The World Tour mode is interesting and offers something varied for the series, even if it has some issues.

Prima Games - Matt Vatankhah - 9.5 / 10

In a sense, Street Fighter VI is the full package. It’s a three-course meal and then some, filling you up to the brim and serving you every dish on the dessert menu whether you’re ready for the check or not. It’s bursting with style, swagger, and abundant sophistication, and it’s the perfect entry for newcomers and veterans alike.

Seasoned Gaming - Patrick Shields - 9.5 / 10

The old champ has claimed the belt once more, and Street Fighter 6 is taking on all comers. Here comes a new challenger, and this one stands above all others.

Spaziogames - Silvio Mazzitelli - Italian - 9.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is simply one of the best fighting games ever made, with ton of contents and an incredibly fun gameplay.

Gert Lush Gaming - Jim Smale - 9.4 / 10

Streetfighter 6 is a celebration of all things Streetfighter and is truly the evolution of the fighting brands rising back to the top.

The Games Machine - Danilo Dellafrana - Italian - 9.3 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is Capcom getting back on its feet after the previous chapter's half-slide, taking note of what was wrong and finding the courage to further refine the combat system of its most famous series, imagining convincing mechanics and expressing a desire to open up fighting to the widest possible audience. The result is absolutely recommended.

Hobby Consolas - Daniel Quesada - Spanish - 92 / 100

Street Fighter 6 has managed to renew itself in everything necessary to become an essential. His attention to detail, his sense of spectacle, his great control and a thousand other virtues make him a milestone for the fight.

AnaitGames - Víctor Manuel Martínez García - Spanish - 9 / 10

Capcom's classic game is back with a new installment that combines technical and competitive gameplay with new mechanics and modes to open up to new audiences.

Atomix - Alberto Desfassiaux - Spanish - 90 / 100

Street Fighter 6 is the redemption of the series. The way it presents a huge amount of content will make fans smile. The only setback is the poor execution of the World Tour.

Attack of the Fanboy - Diego Perez - 4.5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 feels like a celebration of fighting games as a whole, offering newcomers one of the most in-depth onboarding programs ever seen in the form of the new World Tour mode and showing them what makes the FGC so special in the Battle Hub that awaits them when they're ready.

CGMagazine - Zubi Khan - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 packs a punch and should not be missed by fans of Capcom's legendary fighting franchise, while new accessibility controls make the game more welcoming than ever.

Digital Trends - Tomas Franzese - 4.5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is perfect for both seasoned pros and those who have never picked up a fighting game.

Enternity.gr - Panagiotis Petropoulos - Greek - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is truly outstanding and manages to set new standards for the franchise.

Expansive - Laurie Jones - 4.5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is the best, most welcoming fighter I’ve ever played. From the presentation to the content, to the way it prepares you to fight in ranked and the stability of the online component, it’s easily the best and most complete Street Fighter game Capcom have ever made. With an enjoyable, World Tour mode that can sink hours of your time, to a thriving community-driven Battle Hub and all the prerequisites you expect from the genre, this stands alongside the best games released this year and is set up to be played and enjoyed for years into the future.

GGRecon - Jack Roberts - 4.5 / 5

With a slew of fighting games on the horizon like Tekken 8 and the recently announced Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6 is leading the charge in the most vibrant way possible. With a series of character guides, story campaigns for classic characters and a fantastic open world for you to take the fight to the streets, it feels like everything I could have asked for from a modern Street Fighter entry.

Despite being the sixth game in the mainline series, Street Fighter 6 is easily one of the most accessible and makes for a fantastic entry point for newer players, while still resonating with series veterans.

GRYOnline.pl - Michał Grygorcewicz - Polish - 9 / 10

The new Street Fighter 6 will satisfy everyone, from newcomers to the genre looking for a low entry threshold and a good single player to veterans hoping for esports depth and solid network code.

Game Rant - Liam Ferguson - 4.5 / 5

But that's the risk Street Fighter 6 took when it merged three game-sized modes. World Tour is the accessible and content-rich single-player attraction that the genre has been waiting for and has fully gamified the process of learning a fighting game. Battle Hub is one of the most enticing fighting game lobbies ever, introducing variety in the name of fun. Fighting Ground fills any gaps left by the other modes, while also emphasizing traditional gameplay and SF6's new mechanics like the Drive System. These modes easily hook their intended audience, and it seems Street Fighter 6 has reclaimed its spot at the top of the fighting game world.

GameCrate - Lucas White - 9 / 10

Even with my figurative shrug at World Tour mode, it’s easy to see Street Fighter 6 as an achievement for Capcom. There was so much up and down with Street Fighter 5 that sucked the joy out of having a new one, and really only people who showed up years later got the full package. The esports vibe was an understandable experiment, but not one that fully landed. Street Fighter 6 on the other hand is like smashing open a pinata. It’s bursting with energy, style and content in a way very few fighting games have ever managed, even ones praised for single-player offerings. It not only feels like there’s something for everyone here, but it feels like there’s a genuine foundation for a community to grow and thrive. And I definitely plan to stick around and see how that shakes out.

GameSpot - Jason Fanelli - 9 / 10

Capcom's flagship fighter is back in form with intricate but approachable fighting mechanics and a feature-rich package.

Gamersky - 心灵奇兵 - Chinese - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 simplifies its gameplay systems without losing depth. It allows players to perform moves with just one button, providing a sense of freedom. It also features a replayable single-player mode that will attract casual gamers new to fighting games.

GamingBolt - Ravi Sinha - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is more than the sum of its individually excellent parts. It's a return to form for a franchise that's been on the back foot for years, and a stellar fighting game as a whole.

Hardcore Gamer - Cory Wells - 4.5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 modernizes the series and feels like a true evolution that hits the likes of Hyper Fighting, Third Strike and SF4. This is possibly the biggest swing the series has seen and it worked out.

IGN - Mitchell Saltzman - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is the most feature-rich a Street Fighter has ever been at launch, but even beyond that, it's roster of 18 characters is excellent, the new mechanics revitalize the one-on-one fighting formula, and it absolutely nails all of the little things that make for a stellar fighting game.

IGN Spain - Adrián Suárez - Spanish - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 confirms a solid and formidable start. Whether it's your first fighting game or you're a lover of the genre, go for it.

Infinite Start - Grant E. Gaines - 9 / 10

Capcom did a fantastic job with Street Fighter 6. It retains the fighting mechanics players love, and its approach to newcomers is commendable. Even if you don’t want to play online, getting your money’s worth is easy, which is great to know going into it. Some of the other changes, like modern controls, further help make things accessible to a more significant number of people. Street Fighter 6 is a slam dunk worth considering for all these reasons and more.

Kakuchopurei - Jonathan Leo - 90 / 100

It really goes without saying that Street Fighter 6 launch edition is a million times better than Street Fighter 5's, but that's way too low a bar to surpass. [Y]ou're looking at the best version of the 2D fighting series that made the genre exist in the first place that's also going to keep you busy whether you're offline or online.

LevelUp - Fernando Salinas - Spanish - 9 / 10

In addition to having a competitive focus, Street Fighter 6 offers a variety of modes filled with content for all types of players. The diversity of characters, their improvements in online modes, and the new control system are some of the reasons that make Street Fighter 6 the strongest contender to become the best fighting game of this generation.

Merlin'in Kazanı - Samet Basri Taşlı - Turkish - 90 / 100

Street Fighter 6 is a great game and it erases the bad memories Street Fighter 5 left in our memories. Although the World Tour mode is weaker than I expected, it is a great game that has managed to exceed my expectations in other aspects.

Metro GameCentral - GameCentral - 9 / 10

A far better launch experience than its predecessor, with an excellent fighting system and a wide range of options and features that transcend the usual genre traditions.

MonsterVine - Spencer Legacy - 4.5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is a grand fighting game experience that just keeps building on the series’ strong foundation. Though the World Tour mode and new characters aren’t as stand-out as they could be, the core gameplay is excellent and there’s plenty to enjoy.

Nexus Hub - Keegan Govender - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is not just a comeback for Capcom, but for fighting games entering next-generation consoles as a whole. It feels like a passion project made by a group of people who were tasked by Capcom to make the last Street Fighter we would ever want to play. With its fast-paced gameplay, beautifully implemented new mechanics, and timeless visuals, Street Fighter 6 has solidified itself among the fighting game hall of fame.

Niche Gamer - NECRO XIII - 9 / 10

Ultimately, Street Fighter 6 delivers the fun and proves to be one of the most engaging fighting games of the year and of most recent memory.

NoobFeed - Azfar Rayan - 90 / 100

Street Fighter 6 has been beefed up to seem like a true next-gen fighting experience with a robust training mode and its revived control mechanism that attracts a wide variety of players. Despite World Tour being a great addition to the game, it requires further enhancements in the coming days, while the implementation of Rollback Netcode guarantees consistent performance in every match. The Drive mechanism and the overall presentation are friendly enough for beginners and offer what veterans need to keep them interested in a new game.

Oyungezer Online - Eren Eryürekli - Turkish - 9 / 10

While Street Fighter 6 is bolder and more accessible than ever and packed with content. Although it’s single player open world-ish venture is a bit of a chore, meaty new elements and a great roster almost makes up for that. Flourishing and dazzling visuals with killer soundtrack also worth to mention. It’s a dream comes true for every fighting game fan.

PCGamesN - Christian Vaz - 9 / 10

This is the first Street Fighter game in a long time where it feels like players of all skill levels are welcome. While World Tour mode is disappointing, the sheer scope of SF6 means you don't need to wait for the inevitable Ultra Edition before jumping in.

Paste Magazine - Garrett Martin - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 should be on your fight card. It’s the new standard in fighting game excellence.

PlayStation LifeStyle - Nicholas Tan - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 simply lives up to the hype. From its smooth graphics and fresh presentation to its approachable controls and intricate fighting system, pretty much everything is on point. Not only is the Battle Hub a fantastic multiplayer venue for online play, but World Tour is a revelation. It’s clear Capcom has learned many lessons from Street Fighter 5 and has poured everything it could into this sequel. And in today’s age of modern, live-service gaming, it’s rare to see a game like this come out of the gate swinging with tons of content. In what marks a triumphant comeback for the series, Street Fighter 6 sets a new standard for all future fighting games to come.

PlayStation Universe - Neil Bolt - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 comes out of its corner swinging and delivers a three-hit combo of modes that will leave fight fans floored.

PowerUp! - Charbel Asmar - 9 / 10

At launch, Street Fighter 6 is set to take the fighting game genre to another level

Press Start - James Mitchell - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 rights the wrongs of its past with multiple modes for every player and strong battle systems like no other. It invites new players into the fold with well implemented, simpler control schemes, without losing sight of the hardcore player. The World Tour mode won't be for everyone, but Street Fighter 6 stands tall as one of the best fighters Capcom has made.

Pure Xbox - PJ O'Reilly - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 feels like a direct and hugely effective response to criticisms over the anaemic state of its predecessor at launch. Capcom has fully loaded three huge modes here, giving wannabe world warriors a veritable feast of fisticuffs to get engaged with. World Tour is a great big cheesefest that revels in its madcap style whilst providing a fun story, engaging RPG elements and a great way to learn the ropes all rolled into one. Arcade Mode offers up a solid roster of 18 excellent fighters to choose from at launch, and the all new Battle Hub already looks and feels as though it's gonna be a great place to hang out and challenge other players once multiplayer kicks off properly. It's been a minute since we've had a new Street Fighter on Xbox, and this one's been more than worth the wait.

Push Square - Sammy Barker - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is an absolute humdinger of a sequel.

Rectify Gaming - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is the most casual, and accessible minded fighting game, without sacrificing any depth for the hardcore players.

Reno Gazette-Journal - Jason Hidalgo - 9 / 10

The Street Fighter team has really gone the extra mile with Street Fighter 6 and it shows. Its new World Tour campaign provides hours of fun single-player content while also teaching newcomers to the game. The new modern controls, meanwhile, provide a fresh and more accessible alternative to Street Fighter’s classic control scheme while the new Drive mechanics add more depth to the psychology of fights — including the cat-and-mouse game between players. It’s a must-have whether you’re a Street Fighter veteran or a newcomer to the franchise.

Saudi Gamer - Arabic - 9 / 10

A great new entry that caters to both the hardcore and casuals, just missing some modes and more characters that keeps it from perfection.

Video Chums - A.J. Maciejewski - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is an incredible experience that any fan of fighting games will thoroughly appreciate. With 3 very different modes of play that'll appeal to basically anyone, I can easily say that this is one must-have fighter.

WellPlayed - Zach Jackson - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is a remarkably satisfying, stylish and approachable fighter that not only redefines a legacy fighting series but an entire genre.

Windows Central - Miles Dompier - 4.5 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is an exceptional entry in the franchise that reminds me why I love fighting games. Freshly introduced mechanics shake up the familiar dance of previous titles and notably improve the moment-to-moment gameplay. Capcom continues to demonstrate precisely how a team can triumphantly transform established IP. The blood, sweat, and style pouring from nearly every moment in Street Fighter 6 will delight newcomers and veterans alike.

Worth Playing - Cody Medellin - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 succeeds in its ambition to cram some big things into one fighting game. Battle Hub may be silly, but it has a lot more personality and more to do than most other titles with their own online lobbies. Fighting Ground does a great job of showing off the new roster and improvements to the fighting engine, while placing an equal amount of attention on both offline and online players. World Tour makes for a somewhat nonsensical yet addictive adventure that can serve as a good basis for a full-fledged Street Fighter RPG. All of this is tied together with a presentation that does well in improving what came before it, only with more fidelity and flash. As stated at the beginning of this review, fighting game fans are going to have a good year, and Street Fighter 6 is an excellent component of that.

XboxEra - Nick Baker - 9 / 10

Xbox players have had to wait a long time for Street Fighter to come back to the platform, and luckily got the best iteration yet.

GAMES.CH - Alain Jollat - German - 89%

Despite some uncertainty about Capcom's "after you buy the full-price game" monetisation plans, I can only recommend the game to all fans. Even those who previously found these games too complicated because of the controls. "Street Fighter 6" lives up to the series' heritage and convinces both in terms of presentation and mechanics. 2023 will be the year for fighting games fans, as there are still some great new releases of well-known game series to come. Street Fighter 6 has already confidently set the bar very high.

PC Gamer - Mollie Taylor - 89 / 100

Minor technical issues and questionable monetisation scuff what is otherwise one of the best fighting games we've seen in the last decade.

Cerealkillerz - Steve Brieller - German - 8.6 / 10

Street Fighter 6 does many things right that V didn't. World Tour delivers on many small details for fans, especially in the overall creation of your own character. Sadly though, the quest design isn't really engaging and there aren't that many story interactions. The open world potential clearly isn't used and leaves much to be desired. Luckily the gameplay itself when it comes to fighting as well as the character's (re)designs are on point. Thanks to the rollback netcode the online multiplayer works like a charm

Checkpoint Gaming - Luke Mitchell - 8.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 provides the fast and furious action you'd expect from the refined fighting series, offering a dynamic cast of characters, new control modes to make it more accessible, and a variety of features to keep you busy. Its story mode is a campy take on the Street Fighter universe that doesn't always land the winning blow, however; while it's filled with distractions and civilian fighters to take on, it can be a little repetitive and shallow. Still, the technical foundations that Street Fighter stands on are as solid as ever, and with a whole world to battle online, there's a lot of fighting on the menu in what is once again a polished, exciting fighting experience that will keep fans engaged for years.

PC Invasion - Anthony Yates - 9 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is the complete package and offers heaps of content, whether you're competitive or casual. World Tour is a surprisingly strong addition to the single-player experience, and the series has never been more approachable. If you ever wanted to 'get good' at a fighting game but never felt you had the tools, now is the time.

Softpedia - Cosmin Vasile - 8.5 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is not perfect, but it is revolutionary. It manages to cater to so many tastes and expectations, without dropping the ball that the developers deserve all the praise they get. Of course, some of the fan favorites all not in the initial roster, but this probably will be addressed by the nowadays mandatory Battle Pass.

Fextralife - Castielle - 8.4 / 10

Capcom delivers and checks the majority of the boxes when it comes to the classic and new features of Street Fighter 6. It heads down a different direction making it more casual while maintaining the core values of the game, allowing it to be a mainstream fighting game for all players. However, with its awkward performance on the PlayStation 4. The concern is, will World Tour have more content and will the performance issues be fixed. We hope these will be addressed. In the meantime, it is recommended to play Street Fighter 6 on current-gen consoles and PC to fully appreciate and enjoy this game.

Eurogamer - Wesley Yin-Poole - 4 / 5

Street Fighter 6 rights the wrongs of its predecessor while dragging the famous fighting game franchise kicking and screaming into the modern era.

Game Revolution - Michael Leri - 8 / 10

Street Fighter 6 is a redemptive sequel that’s more complete and has a distinct style. Street Fighter 5 did eventually get better, but Street Fighter 6 has come out the gate swinging with a suite of deep mechanics with more intuitive ways to learn and master all of them. The single-player modes are lacking, and, in World Tour’s case, disastrous, but it’s a strong fighting game that packs quite a punch.

M3 - P-A Knutsson - Swedish - 4 / 5

With fast and smooth control, stunning visuals and plenty of game modes, Street Fighter 6 is a new star on the fighting scene. As usual, it is difficult to predict how well-functioning and balanced the online part is, but the potential for something really good is there. If nothing else, hours of fun await you in the delightfully strange single-player campaign.

The Outerhaven Productions - 4 / 5

Street Fighter 6 is an easy day-one buy for the hardcore eSports player base, but casual players might want to wait for a year or more for a more complete game before buying.

Xbox Achievements - Richard Walker - 80%

As Street Fighter approaches its 36th year, Capcom proves that it still has what it takes to make a cracking fighting game. Street Fighter 6 not only feels fresh and vital thanks to its excellent World Tour mode and online Battle Hub, but it cements the series' credentials as one of the best around.

Cubed3 - Luke Hemming - 7 / 10

Street Fighter 6 in it's simplest form remains a fantastic, fun experience, retaining the same gameplay that has been tweaked and improved throughout the years to ensure it remains top of the pile.

We Got This Covered - David James - 3 / 5

Street Fighter 6 delivers a deep, complex, and satisfying fighting game bristling with fun new characters and an excellent multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, all of that's shackled to a truly terrible single-player RPG that stands as one of the most embarrassing things Capcom has released in years. If you're here for online play, you'll love it. If you want single-player action, stay far away.

Ars Technica - Aurich Lawson - Unscored

Dynamic mode provides the true button-mashing experience. I like to think of it as a "kid brother" mode. There are only three buttons, and they perform different attacks depending on which one you press and the range from which you press it. With a single button, you can throw a fireball from across the screen, punch someone when closer to them, or execute a throw while up in their face. A combo button makes you jump in for an attack from a distance or execute several moves in a row from up close. It's so easy that it feels like cheating, but with a little practice, I was able to feel in control of my actions.

Capcom surprises us by providing us with a new installment of the saga with Street Fighter VI. On this occasion, the company goes a step further, showing us that it is still capable of innovating in a genre that seemed somewhat stagnant with its wonderful World Tour mode. Apart from this, it continues to offer us hilarious and varied "old school" combat to enjoy thanks to the large number of options and modes available with which to customize the combat. A game to enjoy alone thanks to its Arcade and World Tour modes or in company fighting against another player, either online or local. A game that any fighting game lover should have in their game library.

Console Creatures - Patrick Tremblay - Recommended

Without a doubt, Street Fighter 6 is the best and most accessible entry in the long-running series. Anyone can jump in, and there is a lot of content to keep you busy and practicing on the road to World Champion.

GameSpew - Richard Seagrave - Unscored

Launching with a strong and varied roster of fighters and a range of modes that should satisfy most players, Street Fighter 6 is a triumph. The combat here is stronger than it’s ever been, and a serious effort has been made to make this the most accessible and inclusive fighting game yet. We still need to delve a little more into the game’s online offerings to give our full verdict, but based on everything we’ve seen so far, Street Fighter 6 is likely to be one of this year’s highlights for fighting game fans.

It’s a sublime fighter that makes smart changes that honor what makes the series great.

On the whole, then, World Tour is a very good way to enjoy Street Fighter 6, particularly if you’re someone who typically plays solo. There are aspects which could be better — the non-Metro City locations you visit as part of your “tour” feel rather underbaked, for one, since most of them are just a very small “room” you can visit rather than a full open-world environment like Metro City — but in the grand scheme of things, World Tour is a brilliant example of how to build a compelling single-player mode into a fighting game.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Lewis Parker - Unscored

Smooth online matches and an impressively in-depth story already put Street Fighter 6 leagues above the competition.

The A.V. Club - Sam Barsanti - Unscored

The fighting game community tends to be much more particular about minor mechanical tweaks than fans of other genres, and it remains to be seen how Street Fighter 6 will fare under that kind of scrutiny. But, if nothing else, this is an easy entrypoint for newcomers and a fun way to dip back in for people who still fondly remember seeing those two boring guys punching each other three decades ago.

Unboxholics - Θέμης Μπολτσής - Greek - Worth your time

Street Fighter 6 is an extremely rich package that successfully manages to win over new players thanks to its new and sophisticated control system, while also winking at veterans, with its balanced, strategic and deep gameplay. It includes everything Street Fighter 5 did, while the development team has added an entire Street Fighter open world RPG and an online MMO on top of it. So, just like that, Capcom's positive...combo continues!

Every time a big new fighting game comes out, I think “is this when I get into fighting games?” Probably not.

Same. I just can't get into them and the last fighting game I was truly invested in was Soul Calibur on Dreamcast. I just don't enjoy the genre. I'm glad it scored well for those looking forward to it.

Loved what played in the demo and knew this would be good, but I’m surprised to see ANY fighting game get these reviews. I’m all on on this and will probably just get all new characters as they come out this round.

I wished I had played the demo. Is it still available?

This is a good review for a casual perspective on the game

I watch this guy a lot. He reminds me of several of my friends. He never says anything particularly interesting, but I can just turn off my brain and listen to a guy talk who really loves games and is a big dope (no offense to my friends).

Looking great! It was going to be the rare game I buy at launch but since my computer can't play it I have to pass for now... not too big of a deal none of my mains are in or in the first battle pass </3 A.K.I. looks cool though if she ends up being pretty good maybe I will need to find a way to play.

I’m kicking myself because I got this on cdkeys not realizing they had the ultimate for $85 there which I imagine will be cheaper than the fighter pass and I plan to just get the passes for SF this gen.

I almost picked it up from Steam then vaguely recalled seeing it on GMG and yeah, the discount was nice. Didn't get ultimate, but did pick up Deluxe or whatever. Is it cross-platform? We all gonna fight each other? While it was brief, I had a ton of fun when we were playing Smash Bros together. And I imagine a game that has netcode less than 50 years old will be even more fun!

It is cross play between everything I just checked! We definitely should set something up if people are picking this up

To be fair, Final Fantasy Origin @Baconprobably needs that extra sale more than this will!

Man, I had no clue the game did this poorly in sales. I haven't seen solid numbers outside of first-week Japan sales after searching. Haven't announced 1M sales either.

That's rough lol
