Bacon 2,280
The only concert I wish I could have gone to was the Alive 2007 concert. I still had hope that after all these years there would be another. Seeing Daft Punk live was basically the only thing on my bucket list.
Bacon 2,280
This was how I was introduced to Daft Punk. It was on New Grounds at the time.
johnny 4,119
this is a huge bummer. was always hoping they would do more shows so i could see them in person.
Greatoneshere 2,471
Yeah, I was also holding out hope for another concert tour since I never saw them live. Damn.
Keyser_Soze 11,434
I was at the Coachella they played at (2006) but I saw She Wants Revenge instead of Daft Punk.
Keyser_Soze 11,434
Maybe Thomas Bangalter will go on to doing more movie stuff. He did the Irreversible soundtrack. Chilling stuff.

Brick 1,649
So I guess they won't be coming back for the next Tron movie?
Bloodporne 2,014
Weirdly enough, I'm not really familiar with them. What's a good release to start with?

Bacon 2,280
There is a bunch of good shit, but I just posted some of the very first tracks I had come across. Thinking back, One More Time was the first Daft Punk song I had ever heard, but I didn't know it was Daft Punk. I think they were showing the Interstellar 5555 version on Nickelodeon for some reason. Good choice, She Wants Revenge were great. I still often listen to their albums. It’s a shame that they broke up. 1
Reputator 1,260
It's hard to understate their influence. There would be no deadmau5 without Daft Punk, and thus I feel a lot of modern electronica just wouldn't exist in the same way. This is getting a lot of attention though and part of me hopes this isn't all a publicity stunt.

I think Discovery would be a good starting point. Their style changed pretty drastically throughout their career (Random Access Memories, their last and IMO best release, is absolutely nothing like their earlier work), and Discovery is a good middle point. Bloodporne 2,014
Ah yeah duh, I know One More Time, Around The World and Robot Rock of course. Somehow never knew that was all Daft Punk. I have to admit, I only really like Robot Rock so far out of those posted tracks after sampling all of them. I totally get why people love the shit out of them though, it's really good, just not necessarily my cup of tea fully.
TheLeon 4,076
How could you post Around the World audio only and not one of the all time great music videos?
Bacon 2,280
I like a good amount of RAM, but not really a fan of Get Lucky. I prefer Giorgio by Moroder, Instant Crush, Lose Yourself to Dance, and Doin' it Right. I like Contact kind of. The last 2-ish minutes aren't exactly palatable. legend 4,252
Jfc. I hadn't had a chance to watch the epilogue video until now and didn't realize they used Touch in it until after I posted the track. What a fucking gut punch of a video too.

Bacon 2,280
Discovery is definitely THE Daft Punk Album if only including Studio Albums. Tho for me, Discovery and Human After All are about equal and I like them more than I like RAM which I like more than Homework.
Chris- 2,303
If we’re being honest the Tron Legacy soundtrack is one of their best as well. 1
Bacon 2,280
This game also introduced me to Daft Punk but I didn't know it
Kal-El814 6,909
Homework, Discovery, and Random Access Memories are all incredible fucking albums. Human After All isn’t. It’s not like it sucks or anything but it’s EASILY their weakest album. Homework, Discovery, RAM are all statements, they’re fucking shots; Human After All is just a bunch of songs, some of which are really good. 2 hours ago, Chris- said: If we’re being honest the Tron Legacy soundtrack is one of their best as well. All that matters is if the song is good. I don't care if Human After All is just a bunch of Songs because that is what it all is to me. Every Album ever is just a collection of songs to me. The song Human After All is just great. Probably in my Top 3 Daft Punk Songs. I couldn't care less about their statements.

I have good taste in lots of things but who cares about good taste. Bad taste is far more entertaining. But yeah, Daft Punk has been my favorite (it seems weird to call them a) band since I learned of them. Like, I am not gonna say they make the best music in the world, but most bands or groups have like only one or two songs I really like. Daft Punk is like the opposite. While not everything by them is a winner in my book, I like the vast majority of stuff they put out.
