Jamming the handbrake and coming to a full stop and turn will get you smashed big time. The game is pretty, shiny, and "the numbers keep going up" at the end of each round. But I can't say I'm super hooked or anything. Text can be hard to read when you are picking a character/vehicle. The skins you can unlock aren't very impressive. It's fun but I don't see myself getting hooked like Rocket League or Apex. 

Same, I’ve played it and I like it but it’s not hooking me like Rocket League did. I think the unlockables could be part of the problem. I looked at all of them and didn’t get a “ohhh I want that” feeling from any of them. The skins right now are just different colors. Hopefully we get skins that more drastically change the way your character looks so you stand out more.

Destruction All Stars is one helluva time. I can definitely see this taking off as an E-Sports game.

i played for a bit last night. seemed fine but nothing special. i was really bad at actually hitting cars which is a problem lol

I love the car combat, but the 3rd person crap sucks.

I think the third person is fun just because when you are running around it’s so chaotic and kinda different.

 

Game is pretty fun, I’ll get more time in this weekend, but what I like is it’s a multiplayer game you can kinda zone off and do your own thing and not really pay much attention to the score and still have a good time.

 

That isn’t something most multiplayer games feel like for me, and it’s def more my style.

I played a bunch of matches last night and kept saying "just one more before I go to bed"  Game is definitely fun and the third person adds a nice element to it.

I do wish you didn’t need to use an ability to double jump just because I want to double jump in basically everything all the time.

Same. I dont get it, theres always at least one person with like double the points. Im enjoying it though, played about 8 games of mayhem tonight.

 

The skins are shit, im not a fan of most of the characters, but the car combat is fun. Still not sold on the 3rd person though.

There are also some car specials which I have no clue what they do. I still haven't used them all. I like Hana, but still don't know what her special does. Harmony is good too.

If you press square on the character select screen it tells you what they do. Seems Blue Fang is the early favorite since his special vehicle absolutely shreds when it’s activated haha. 
 

Only think I’m having trouble with is car jacking. In the tutorial you dodge a car and can jump on it but that never works for me. In the rare instance I get on a slow moving car I never even come close to winning the battle.

Is there a mute button anywhere in Destruction All-Stars??? Just about every game I play its like people don't realize their controller is broadcasting for everyone to hear. A guy last night had the biggest coughing fit in the middle of a match. His cough overpowered the game audio so loudly my only option was to turn my headphones all the way down during the match.

I didn't ask, but it sounded seriously bad. In other news, I played a match a few minutes ago where 2 guys said how the blue tiger looking character is way overpowered and needs to be nerfed. So the next game I played him and got my first 1st place win

Yeah he’s crazy powerful. 
 

Def need them to up the quality of the skins. Part of what kept me in Rocket League for so long was how cool and unique I could make the car look. Just having different colors isn’t gonna cut it.

You can mute party chat once the match starts... press the ps button then press square. Also make sure you turn YOUR mic off in the PS menu as well. Even if you don't have a headset on, it defaults to your mic in your controller being on

One problem with this game is the horrible skins. The ones you can buy with AC are barely accents, and the ones you can buy with real money are just recolors. The emotes are mostly worth it. Leveling just feels meaninglessness.

 

At least Fall Guys had interesting skins and a bunch of different levels. The maps mostly feel alike, and the only game mode worth playing is Mayhem, because teams with randoms are almost always horrible, and im not even sure the point of gridfall yet.

Agreed. The skin selection sucks, but have you seen the endless list of banners you can pick from for your nameplate? They all pretty much suck but I was surprised by how many there were.

Yeah they need to take a hard look at Rocket Leagues “loot”. Because as it stands now, even if I had a million credits I don’t think I’d spend it on anything haha. Even the emotes are pointless because the game goes too fast for anyone but you to see what your player is doing.

To be fair here, they did delay the game once so they  were probably 100% focused on getting the game to play well and stable for launch.  I haven't played it yet myself, but it seems enough of you area all enjoying it to say it plays bug free?  They have plenty of time post launch to focus on adding better skins/cosmetics. 

 

Apex Legends got pretty heavily criticized for such poor cosmetics and everything else around launch.  They came out and admitted, they just didn't have a team large enough to put that many resources into that initially when they were just trying to ship a good game.  Once it had success they expanded and put more resources into all that stuff. 

 

I just saw this on Twitter, and gotta feel for developers at times.  I realize its part of the job and we all have jobs where we get criticized, but can't imagine spending so much time on something you probably are proud of, and having people shit on it so publicly afterwards.

Reviews are okay in the 60s. I had no problem finding a game though.

Jesus, finally got a win, and literally pulled it out by 3 points in the final 10 seconds of the match with two Annihilation's by Fuegos flaming car breaker.

73 matches. 1 win, seven 2nd place, 14 3rd.

 

Damn, I love this game though. And at the beginning I wasn't impressed at all.

 

Still lots of problems with skins and progression being meaningless. And why would anyone buy their stupid currency to get recolors and stupid emotes? (I don't know why anyone would buy in-game currency, period, but especially here). They definitely need to add more tracks. But the gameplay is so fun, I can see me playing this for a while. Especially as I learn to use more characters (Harmony is who im best with over-all, but my first match with Fuego was a win.  🏆

I had a couple of times where it wouldn't hook me up with a match, but as soon as id stop it and retry, it would work normally.

 

Game definitely has some bugs. I saw one guy spinning like a top on the nose of his car for the final two minutes of a match, as well as a guy right side up coming put of the bottom of his car, which he was driving upside down, and once I had a car that would not launch from the platform.
