The 2020-21 Mock Gambling Thread - WEEK 9 - BasemntDweller2 goes big!

With our current leader taking a week off, BasemntDweller2 takes swift advantage with a huge bet on the Feature Game and being the first player to nail all of Question 8!  More than double his money, Base takes a commanding lead!  But havign just passed the half way point of the regular season, can he manage to stave off the pack and hold strong at the top?

Week 8 Feature Game: Dallas Cowboys (+9.5) at Philadelphia Eagles
Even with an almost 10 point spread Dallas fails to make up the difference, losing both on the field and in the MGT to the Eagles by a score of 18.5(9+9.5)-23.  Bets on Philly win.

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Cowboys TD, Cowboys FG, Cowboys safety, Eagles TD, Eagles FG, Eagles safety, or other? ($800 for the correct call)
Greg the Leg hits a 49 yarder for Dallas for the first score of the game. Nobody called this.

 

2) Which team in the Feature Game will have the most rushing yards? ($700 for the correct call)
Dallas outran Philadelphia, tallying 133 yards to the Eagles' 119.  Only thewhyteboar got this one correct.

 

3) Protect this house: How many home teams will win in Week 8? ($900 for the correct answer)
Seven home teams won in Week 8.  Nobody got this one right.

 

4) How many touchdowns will be scored in the New Orleans @ Chicago game? ($800 for the correct player)
Each team scored two touchdowns a piece, for four total.  Only BasemntDweller2 and Slug guessed this correctly.

 

5) Call the winners:
L.A. Rams at Miami
L.A. Chargers at Denver
Pittsburgh at Baltimore
($700 for EACH correct named game winner, $1,200 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)
Nobody got all three for the bonus.  Doesn't seem like there was a lot of faith in the undefeated Steelers, with only one player calling them to win.

 

6) Which team will score first on Thursday night, Atlanta or Carolina? ($700 for the right name)
Atlanta scored an early field goal for the first points on Thursday Night.

 

7) Name the QB that will have the most passing yards in Week 8. ($1,000 for the correct call)
Patrick Mahomes put up 416 yards to easily be the week's passing leader. Nobody got the Patrick Rate...I mean Patrick right.  Damn you, State Farm.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week eight. ($3,500 for each player named correctly, $7,000 bonus if both names are called)
Dalvin Cook racked up 163 yards on the ground and D.K. Metcalf pulled down 161 in the air to be your yardage kings in Week 8.  thewhyteboar called Metcalf for a fat hiunk of cash, but BasemntDweller2 called both Metcalf AND Cook to be the first player to earn the Question 8 bonus in 2020!
