  1. I know that life has moved (significantly) on but as a person that understands, but doesn’t follow, [American] football, when I get the urge, I still plug in my PS2 and play Madden 04.
  2. Since they don’t do a plant based burger I do in fact just have every single vegetable with cheese and it’s great.
  3. I’ve been dipping into PS+ as my wife subscribed and I’ve tried out: TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge - I have limited nostalgia for the Turtles games, so I’ll give this a go and see if I can finish it on an easier difficulty setting. Spiderman: Miles Morales - liking this a fair bit. I found I grew tired of the first Insomniac Spiderman game (as I do with most open world games) but knowing this isn’t a full length experience makes it feel tolerable (already). Death’s Door - so far really taken with this and what it’s about. I like the aesthetic and the combat and movement feel decent. I have Slay the Spire and Yakuza: Like a Dragon available as well, but chances are the latter won’t be getting touched. So many good games, so little time!
  4. Wuthering Heights - so far, so good (about 100 pages in)
  5. I keep seeing this thread come around and lord it makes me want a take away. I’m beyond poor at the moment so it’s not happening - but I get a good 2 minute daydream out of it.
  6. She made it to 92 with very advanced dementia so amazing going for her. She also got to experience being a great-grandmother to two children, came both to my wedding as well as my sisters, and I’m 99% sure was the longest surviving member of her friendship group. We’ve all been waiting on today for a few years now so I’m not sad, or shocked - I just hope my Mum is OK. It also happens to be my fourth wedding anniversary so that’ll be a way to remember both occasions!
  7. “Mate” is my defacto term for someone - to the point everyone at works calls each other mate, and it’s filtering out to my family.
  8. We need more information about the ‘weird shot’ she is into. I’m not asking for myself, just for the wider board curiosity…
  9. I’m 90% sure that about 3 weeks ago I caught Covid (not badly, just a persistent cough, fatigue and shortness of breath). Suffice to say, my grand summer fitness plans were put on hold. Just went for a very gentle 1.5 miles this morning ans felt good, so going to push on. I’ve decided that arbitrarily I’m aiming to lose 10kg by Christmas, so that’s the focus. In fact, just to continue the arbitrary goals, they’ll be: Run 5 miles at a comfortable pace (50 minutes). Complete 40 press ups without a rest Hold a front plank for 3 minutes Complete 8 pull ups/chin ups I’m aware that the above isn’t hard, but it’s a nice feeling to have something to aim for (to beat!).
  10. Watching my daughter play Untitled Goose Game (or Ducks, as she has opted to call it). She’s enjoyed honking and picking up the apple and sandwich to put in the water. I mean, I’m sure it’s not great that a 2 year old is playing a game (well very nearly 3) but it’s very entertaining to watch.
  11. I mean…whenever. I’m not a petty person but it would be hard to get the idea of being compared out of my mind, at least initially.
  12. I’m the spirit of this (pun approaching) I tried out Spiritfarer. I spent 5 minutes running around my boat with literally no fucking clue and gave up. I didn’t realise we owned Pokemon Violet so I’ll see about that instead - although more likely I’ll be starting GoW:R.
  13. That’s shockingly bad. I would honestly look at the idea of teaching in a different country (English speaking teachers are pretty much in demand across the world with a lot paying relocation costs) because losing a good educator is almost as bad a crime as the one your experiencing.
  14. I would rather live in isolation than without reading. No TV, no internet, food delivered or grown by myself…I would be OK, so long as I had books and paper to write/draw.
  15. Come to England and make it a true world tour.
  16. I finished Fairy Tale and really enjoyed it. The world felt very well put together and really felt like it could be part of an off-shoot series than a one-off tale. It could even focus on Mr Bowditch!
  17. I think there’s a big life trade off when it comes to having a lot of disposable income. I’ve spent a lot of time around family that are very affluent - but I don’t necessarily think all of them are as content or happy as I am.
  18. I’m being the responsible one at a wedding today so I’m going to take my daughter home between 5-7pm. Depending on how she goes to bed, I’ll either be reading (and finished) Fairy Tale or marching onward in TotK.
  19. I really wanted to like Kingdom Hearts but I gave 2 hours to the first game last year and just couldn’t. The camera was just too much.
  20. Just off to the gym for the 600th time today, which is only half the amount of girlfriends of mine I’m going to bang tonight. Then off to Sardinia for 2 weeks with my fiancée to eat loads of food and loose mass on my lats and delts
  21. Talk Like TED which has been really interesting, especially as a teacher. Next up will be Fairy Tale by Stephen King.
  22. I hope the title explains it but you need to write a post in the style of another user, the person below guesses and also writes a parody. Continue ad nauseam. My go: I’m just trying to help but I think that Jason needs to do better as a mod. I mean, I’m a good guy and I just want to help but he’s a bitch cunt.
  23. Sixth Sense at the time, and without the directorial rep was pretty awesome.
  24. I felt genuinely sad about this, however literally the following evening at a pub quiz, one team was named Sinead O’Gonner and that will be the eternal memory association for me.
