  1. As an alternative to stuffy Episcopalians, might I suggest Lutherans, particularly the ELCA? They're pretty progressive (female pastors, support LGBTQ, etc.) and have been known to indulge in beer drinking.
  2. I'm totally fine with gas going to $6/gallon or more if it means we move away from fossil fuels, but I drive a Prius.
  3. I know that feel, bro, but at least he had the guts to express his interest/feelings. That is its own kind of bravery that not everybody possesses at that age, or sometimes even at any age.
  4. I'm also incredibly immature, so that probably taints your picture of me.
  5. My current dog is my first pet I've had since I was about 18, so it's been 19 years.
  6. My day's going great so far; I'm perpetually running a sleep deficit because I'm 1) a nightowl working an 8-5 IT job that's 30 minutes away and 2) a 37 year old man-child who hates going to sleep when he should. So to make up for my workweek deficit, today I slept in until nearly 11 (went to bed at 1:30 am) and it was glorious. Showered, ate breakfast/lunch, and took my dog for an hour's walk and now I'm going to start studying for my OCP exam for most of the rest of the day. My goal is to take the exam within two months so I can get my first programming job.
  7. My dog goes to daycare 5 days per week while I'm at work, running around playing with dozens of other dogs on around 5 acres, with I believe about three to five humans around to supervise. When I first got him and I was getting daycare set up, he was home alone for about 12 hours a few times, but he was good and to this day has still never peed in the house even once. He did shred a down comforter once though. That was about a year ago and I'm still finding feathers.
  8. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I guess? Here's my weirdo on his dog bed/couch tonight:
  9. Really sorry to hear this, @brucoe. but I'm pulling for you. Please let us know if there's anything your fellow D1PSh1ts can do.
  10. Red Dead Redemption 2 Grand Theft Auto V Neither of which I've actually played yet. 🤦🏼‍♂️
  11. When you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.
  12. It doesn't always come at the same time every day and I'm not always in the lobby at the same time every day.
  13. I check mine at least once per day, yeah. It's in the lobby of my apartment building.
  14. Come visit western Oregon! The area in and around Portland has beautiful nature to explore, is known to be very foodie-friendly, and has all the homeless you can shake your stick at!
  15. I too am rockin' the ProMedia 4.1s from around 2003. I'll bump them up a bit louder tonight in honor of their fallen comrade.
  16. Absolutely. This drove me nuts when I read these. Too much world-building, not enough plot. Get on with it, already!
  17. While I agree it definitely wasn't a great joke (not a particularly creative observation, IMO) I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't start accepting violence as a reasonable reaction to even a bad joke. I know that's not what you're arguing for, of course. It's also absurd to me that he assaulted someone on live television and was allowed to not only remain at the show but to actually win an award and give a tearful speech about being a vessel for peace. What a night.
