  1. Norka? If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.
  2. I remember also not being particularly impressed with the first Dark Tower book, but they get better and better (until about book five or six and then they plateau). Book four (Wizard and Glass) was one of my favorite books I'd read in recent memory, so I'm glad that I stuck with it. Up to you of course, if you have a lot of other books to get to it may not be worth the time investment, but personally I loved them once I got through the first book. Awesome, I'll be very curious to know what you think of it once you get to it.
  3. @dualhunter I think the problem was just that it has a white background, so viewing your avatar on any darker-colored theme shows an obvious border: Here's a version of your avatar with the white background removed: Since I was only able to get the image from your current avatar the quality may not be the best, but at least it doesn't have the border on the darker themes. If you have a larger, higher-res version of the image I'm happy to fix that instead. Edit - Here's what the cleaned-up version looks like on the black theme:
  4. I was the one who set it in the AdminCP way back when. I think I raised it to 50. Either 50 or unlimited.
  5. My name is pretty shit, in all honesty. I would love to change it, given the new site, but laziness prevails.
  6. It most likely isn't a high priority of course, but we seem to only be able to give around 10 "likes" (or any reactions) in a single day. Any chance we could increase this in the AdminCP again? I want to spread the love!
  7. @dualhunter I just looked and unfortunately I don't believe I have the cleaned up version anymore, but if you want to send me what you've got, I can clean it up.
  8. Looks like a silly good time. Have liked Ron Livingston in all that I've seen him in. Unless the reviews are abysmal, I'll probably see this.
  9. I'm reading Landfalls by Naomi J. Williams for the book club I'm part of here, and only have about 20 pages remaining. It's a fictionalized account of the Lapérouse expedition from 1785 to 1788. As the title suggests, the book takes place at their various landfalls along their journey: Chile, Alaska, California, China, Russia, Australia, and finally the Solomon Islands. The locations are historically accurate but of course the dialog is fictional, but exceptional. One story in the book was particularly moving to me, and actually made me tear up a bit, which hasn't happened with a book in a long time. It's a very fun adventure story which is at times also very heart-wrenching. If anyone is looking for historical fiction, I can't recommend it highly enough; it was a real page turner. Next I'll probably read Pet Sematary by Stephen King or maybe And Yet by Christopher Hitchens, because both have been in my to-read list for a very long time.
  10. Why isn't the tolerant left tolerating my intolerance? The complete lack of self-awareness is astounding, especially in a 71 year old man.
  11. Yeah group work blows. I'm doing a "team project" now (and have been for the last 1.5 years) where my team member is actually a friend of mine but he doesn't seem to be nearly as motivated as I am to finish the project. We're using Subversion so I can actually go through and see the statistics about who is doing what, and by percent authorship, I'm at 75% and he's at 25%. I gave you a sympathy "like".
  12. It's really cool and generous that someone was willing to spend so much time on this, but it also kind of blows my mind that someone would spend this much time remaking a game which is over 20 years ( ) old. Is the modding community that active for the original Diablo?
  13. I'm still running around Hyrule in Breath of the Wild, having a great time exploring, even after putting in 80+ hours into the game.
