  1. Cool, glad that may work for you! I'd be curious to get one of Ikea's more expensive down pillows (~$80) but it's kind of a steep gamble.
  2. I have this one from Ikea and it works for me.
  3. Moved to The Shower, as It's not a Current Event.
  4. I grew up less than an hour from Sun Valley. With all due respect, you sound like someone who has never been and couldn't even be arsed to Google it. Idaho is beautiful. Especially in the rural parts, it has a lot of rednecks, fools, etc. But the landscapes have some incredible rugged beauty.
  5. Probably a feature, not a bug, right? Democrats recognize that there are other problems to solve; Republicans have to cling to small victories.
  6. I found a book club here in Portland and we're going to read Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead. I'd read another of his books, The Underground Railroad, for my book club back in Germany in 2018 and I remember enjoying it at the time, but now for the life of me I couldn't tell you anything of the story.
  7. Does anyone use a stand/sit desk? Do you think it was worth it? I can get a pretty good discount on one through my company (about $600 instead of $960) so I'm tempted, but I'm not sure 1) how much I'd actually use the stand function and 2) how much I'd have to spend to adapt my current setup to use the new desk since it doesn't include a hutch, storage drawers, etc.:
  8. Have you tried looking in Device Manager and disabling any extra mice?
  9. What's the likelihood at this point on someone in the DoJ being guilty of some heinous shit and that's why they're holding off on their duty, for fear of retribution? Or am I getting into conspiracy theory territory now? I just can't fathom why this hasn't been pursued more vigorously.
  10. I'll be curious to hear what you think of it once you actually get it... Whenever that ends up being. 😄 This is what I was looking at replacing my 2007 Prius with, as well.
  11. This makes way too much sense. It will never happen in America.
  12. At various times I've been mainly into reading, video games, hiking, and running, but those tend to go in waves, rather than a constant focus, and were rarely things that I was hyper focused on even at their peaks. I've invested a fair amount of money and time into all of them, but I don't know that they were necessarily driving forces in my life. One driving force, however, was learning German. I invested thousands of dollars and 10 years of my life into that, so I guess that counts.
  13. I mean.... Half the population just lost some of their healthcare. Unless our definitions of "fortifying" are irreconcilable, I don't see how you can make this argument.
