  1. It was missing a "none of the above" option. That said, these kind of games are the perfect filler for a subscription based service. Relatively cheap to make.
  2. I think we’re a long way from PCIe5.0 drives making sense. They’re expensive, produce a lot of heat and offer no real world benefits.
  3. That deal on the SN850X was just too good to pass up. Just bought a 4TB.
  4. A 4070 is also substantially more powerful than a SeX.
  5. It's a sale. I saved over $300 on an item that never goes on sale, and I was going to buy anyways.
  6. Ordered the smart shower valve for the master bathroom reno we're doing this fall. Ordered Roblox gift card for my daughter. Fire TV cube to replace the first gen one I've been running on my ancient Plasma. Thinking of getting a couple of Echo Studio speakers to replace the Echo that my cats destroyed when they were kittens (by eating through the power cords). Does anyone have experience with them?
  7. I thought the joke about Hooter's was always that they actually did have really good wings.
  8. It's harder than you think to get burn in. Playing games on it "normally" isn't a problem.
  9. I had stopped playing Hogwart's Legacy to play Aliens: Dark Descent. However, A:DD is much more of a stressful stealth game than I thought it would be. I've decided that the rest of my life is stressful enough, and that I want to game to relax. So, I 'm back to being a wizard that runs around doing stupid errands -- and fucking up evil wizards -- and I'm so much happier.
  10. Based on what I have played. AC: Syndicate was the best of the old-style AC games. If you like those, this was probably the best example of that. The AC:Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla are all a trilogy set in different settings (Ancient Greece, Ptolemaic Egypt and the Viking invasion of England), and had increasingly improved mechanics. They ARE very similar in mechanics, so would be hard to play back-to-back. They are also VERY long (in the order of 120-150 hours each). I loved them A solid game. Yes, the Ray Tracing and HDR are awesome. Worth prioritizing based on this list? I don't think so. Meh. It was OK. IMHO, the forced changes between characters and fight styles really let it down. Old school shooters revitalized. They are nothing like most modern shooters, in that you need to be aggressive, and keep moving. Shouldn't be missed. Best open world shooter I have ever played. FC5 had some interesting mechanics, but stepped back in some ways. FC4 was just a blast to play. Both are excellent. Both are very different games, and both are excellent. Great game mechanics, not enough of a game. Too repetitive and gets boring. I stopped playing midway through because of the terrible controls. If you've never played this trilogy, stop what you are doing and play this now. Both very good games, but no where near as good as much of the best stuff on your list. Niche. I enjoyed it, but hard to recommend without the multiplayer. Good, solid open world games that are marred by "edgy" writing. Some interesting ideas that don't always hit. Right after you play the Mass Effect Trilogy, play this. Interesting characters, tremendous writing, tough decisions. One of the best open-world games ever made. I found the combat REALLY easy. I ended up deciding to play the full trilogy back-to-back. The first game is VERY dated, but short. The second game is still playable. The third is a masterpiece. You CAN play the third without touching the first two, and you probably won't feel you missed anything. But... I found my connection with the characters was so much stronger playing all three games in quick succession.
  11. Do you remember playing AC in Victorian London? The gameplay/storytelling improved so much during the series -- Yes, there have been some misses. [Revelations and Unity for me.] But Syndicate was a huge step forward from AC1.
  12. Physics Related PBS Space Time - My favourite overall channel. Matt O'Dowd is great at simplifying (somewhat) quantum physics and cosmology. Sabine Hossenfelder - Great takes on science, with a specialty in quantum physics. Fermilab - The scientists at the Chicago-based collider to some great entry level explanations on physics concepts. Other Science Anton Petrov -- gives quick hits on new science (primarily cosmology-related) papers. Veritasium -- Long form documentaries on lots of cool science stuff. Science Tangential Mark Rober -- Makes crazy engineering projects, and he is truly entertaining. Stuff Made Here -- Goes through the development process of lots of cool stuff. Cooking -- All of these channels show how to make great food Brian Lagerstrom Joshua Wiseman Sam the Cooking Guy ThatDudeCanCook Guga Sous Vide Everything Epicurious PC Gaming Gamers Nexus -- Steve is one of the most brutally honest hardware reviewers. I may not always agree with what he says, but I always want to here it. JayzTwoCents -- Watercooling porn. Hardware Unboxed -- Interesting takes on PC Hardware Digital Foundry -- The definitive channel on all things graphics related. General Entertainment Good Mythical Morning -- They eat stuff, and say what is better. In a very entertaining way. How Ridiculous -- Videos of them destroying stuff or doing crazy challenges The TRY Channel -- Irish people eating/drinking things and making "witty" Irish jokes about them. BeardMeatsFood -- Every video is of "Mr. Beard" doing a restaurant eating challenge.
  13. I don't think Simulation games are actually more numerous than Arcade racing games. The Dirt series, Forza Horizon series, Need For Speed series, The Crew series, are some of the non-sim racing games that I can think of that have come out recently.
  14. I've been working a ton, so only been playing a little before bed on the Steam Deck. Got back into Brotato, and am doing much better than when I last played it several months ago. Tons of fun.
  15. Exclusivity was started by Sony. Sega and Nintendo never did it. Neither did Atari or Colecovision.
  16. Pro Modder PureDark promises Starfield 'at least DLSS3 support in the Early Access 5 days.' | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM "According to AMD Sponsored games' tradition there won't be any DLSS support. But don't worry, you've got me."
  17. I don't think anyone "likes" Nvidia or AMD, both are being heavily criticized for their pricing. Nvidia's lower-tier GPUs are also routinely slammed for their lack of VRAM.
  18. "10% of planets having life is there to be more realistic" Ok, now let's talk about faster than light travel needed to visit all these planets.
  19. My issue was always the amount of downtime it has. If the servers are down, there needs to be some leniency that allows you to play for some amount of time.
