The original Assassin's Creed was a very basic game -- with very limited narrative components, a rinse and repeat assassination gameplay loop (my recollection is there were nine assassinations that were almost identical). Syndicate was the last iteration of the formula with a detailed narrative, a broad selection of main and side missions. My recollection was that the games assassinations (much like Unity) gave you a number of different ways to complete them. I would anticipate that they are going to start from this gameplay/narrative structure, rather than going back to the original AC game and iterating from there.

If it is really $500, it better damn well come with haptic underwear for the romance side quests.

If you are OK with extremely low def textures and low poly models, and the occasional hitching while waiting for something to load [including lots of texture/environment pop-in]- it's perfectly doable.

The internet is going crazy over the fact that Sony "lied" about the PS5 SSD making this game possible because of these specs. Perhaps we should see how this game plays/looks on "low" settings before people get too excited?

It depends on the coffee drinking habits in your household. My wife was getting 3-4 Starbucks drinks a week. I bought a refurbished machine 7 years ago (and it's only needed minor servicing). It's paid for itself several times over.

I think that is the case with higher end GPUs, but not necessarily lower end GPUs. The lack of VRAM on cheaper GPUs (below 12 GB) could become a huge issue in longevity. DLSS is fantastic, and I think is being overlooked by many YouTubers, but I'm not convinced it is a panacea for underpowered GPUs -- I know it can turn OK into Good -- I'm dubious about whether it can turn "not good" into "good". Frame generation hasn't shown to work particularly well at mid-low framerates, and upscaling doesn't work particularly well at lower resolutions.

You don't need a game to be particularly good to be a filler on a subscription service. It just needs to be cheap to make, and "OK".
