  1. Character trailer for Dolores. She's pretty cool. I really like the designs for her and Isla.
  2. I'm working full time from home. Luckily, that means my wife and I can both still work. Lucky because we had a nanny pre-COVID. She took some classes during lockdown and found a new job. If I wasn't able to work from home, one of us would be out of the job market taking care of our kids. We'd just have to make due until our youngest was old enough for preschool...assuming we'd even find an opening. Unfortunately, preschools and daycares in my area all have waiting lists a mile long because the number of people working at these places are decreased, dramatically. That's also driven up the prices in my area. Childcare was already expensive as all hell before COVID, now it's nearly untenable. I'm not even going to broach the topic of my autistic daughter and the crazy prices that would be associated with her care. She was accepted to a preschool that came out to like 75% of my wife's check and was nearly an hour away. Yeah, that'll work out.
  3. Yes, it's so silly too because we know how many people are on unemployment and it doesn't make up the difference.
  4. TMZ reported that the gun was being used recreationally for target practice by some of the crew. Gun in Alec Baldwin Accident Was Also Used Off-Set, Recreationally WWW.TMZ.COM The gun was supposedly being used for target practice, with real bullets. I feel like you really shouldn't ever use real bullets in a fun that's also meant to be used on set by actors. Only one bit of training needed. NEVER point a gun at people, even if you think the gun isn't loaded and even if other people tell you the gun isn't loaded.
  5. As I said before. Twitter will only ban these accounts if it turns into bad press. That's only because Twitter isn't as financially strong as Facebook. Facebook, being loath to actually banning people, will usually just ignore these stories. Right now, nobody is really talking about how some 65% of COVID-19 misinformation is generated by a literally dozen people. Facebook never banned those people and they've continued to generate more COVID misinformation. Facebook was right. They were able to wait the story out.
  6. Super cute, but I'm not sold it'll have the same appeal Pokemon Go has.
  7. I care nothing for this story, but I do think this tidbit does well to highlight how stupid the police really are. Investigators confused Brian Laundrie's mother for him while watching their home, police reportedly acknowledge WWW.CNN.COM Investigators in Florida confused Brian Laundrie's mother with her son while they were monitoring the family's home in the days after Laundrie's fiancée, Gabby Petito, was reported missing, a police... Good thing we trust them to be judge, jury, and executioner out on the streets.
  8. Correct. If you say you don't have it, you can just continue with the appointment. It just sucks that there isn't even any assurances on the Massachusetts site during the scheduling process that you won't ever be charged and everything will be 100% free. This info is in the FAQ, but you have to dig around for it which is more than most are will do.
  9. Finally booked boosters for my wife and I. I told them I had no preference for what I get, app it'll be a surprise vaccine. Again, though, they ask a million questions about insurance. My wife even had to provide them with my name and birthday because the insurance is under my name.
  10. Just wanted to share this story since it had a little more insight into the AD's past... 'Rust' Assistant Director Told Actor to Do Unsafe Stunt: Former Coworkers WWW.INSIDER.COM Creed Bratton was hit in the eye after Dave Halls insisted a scene go forward over objections from the crew, two people who worked on Hulu's "Into The Dark" told Insider. All the talk about younger, less experienced staff may have all been FUD. It seems this one guy, that's been working as an assistant director on various projects since '96, has a history of pushing for unsafe stunts and being wildly negligent when it comes to ensuring safety on the set.
  11. No idea how scandalous any of this is. The story was started by an animal rights group whose information seems to contradict what the directors over at the University of Georgia. Contradict in the sense that the animal rights group says animal testing isn't required for any drugs being tested and the University of Georgia saying it is required for some vaccines. University defends vaccine tests on dogs after Dr. Fauci and NIH blasted with criticism WWW.NEWSWEEK.COM The White Coat Waste Project said a Freedom of Information Act request showed the testing of beagles took place, and that the dogs were eventually euthanized. It's hard to find more recent stories about this because it looks like right wing media picked it up recently and are going hard on the Fauci ordered a bunch of animals to be tortured story. We, obviously, don't even know how involved he'd even be in the day to day trials being conducted in universities and other labs around the planet that are getting federal grants to develop new drugs. No word on what any of these drugs are actually for. Looks like there was an animal experiment done in Georgia last year and another in Tunisia the year before. Most current stories are focusing on Tunisia since, I guess, the idea of out sourcing animal trials to Africa sounds worse than the trials being run in the southern US. My guess is this animal rights group is going hard into the Fauci angle because maybe Republican's hatred for Fauci will put pressure on the NIAID and NIH to scale back funding on animal testing.
  12. This works far better than it should. Oh no, the rest of the album is brilliant...
  13. Netflix is now trying to make an event of the first actual trailer for the series...
  14. I love this statement from Amazon so much... Amazon Worker Email to Jeff Bezos Exposed Huge Payroll Issues: Report WWW.BUSINESSINSIDER.COM "I'm crying as I write this email," Tara Jones, an Amazon worker, wrote to Jeff Bezos, The New York Times reported. "We know we're treating employees like less than human, but that's only because you all, the customer, are so amazing and deserve it."
  15. Maybe not since China does "consume" more potatoes than any other nation. Which Country Eats the Most Potatoes? | Helgi Library WWW.HELGILIBRARY.COM Potato Consumption (Total) (kt), 2018
  16. I'm curious if we'd be looking at something starring members or if it's going to be a more traditional wuxia setting set to their music. I'm down either way.
  17. A lot of Facebook's woes are related to their absolute refusal to ban the bad actors on their platform. They know who the Nazis are, they know who the people calling for genocide are, they know where the racist cops that share videos of themselves beating up minorities are, they know where the folks planning 1/6 are and they knew they what they were planning ahead of time. Twitter will ban people only when it becomes an issue in the press. Zuck knows that they can ignore the bad press because it doesn't hang around long enough to hurt their bottom line.
  18. Facebook gets away with a lot of what would cause other apps to get pulled from app stores. The English speaking Facebook might be crazy, but non-English Facebook is a while other level of crazy. I'm not just referring to disinformation. There's just straight violence, open hatred, straight racism, and more. Facebook seemingly barely moderates anything that isn't in English. There is nothing on apps Apple has banned, like Gab or Parler or Infowars, that isn't also on Facebook, but with a FAR larger audience.
  19. They only give a shit about their image in regards to how it will affect parents sending their kids to school there. It's all about money and it's never been about anything else.
