  1. So how is Delicious in Dungeon not the official anime of this forum? It's a dungeon crawler that constantly gets interrupted by discussions of food. It started last season and is on Netflix with a simuldub, so new episodes in multiple languages every Thursday. It's such a good series. Also, all the food looks great.

  3. Saying backlash is being too nice here. It was targeted harassment and phones calls toxic stalkers. Like these are real people being targeted by these rage grifters looking to make a quick buck.
  4. I don't know what to tell you. I played through Control. She looks like a lower resolution Courtney Hope. Again, what are you even on about? I need you to understand that you're bothered that real life athletes aren't attractive enough for you. We aren't talking about make believe characters invented for a videogame, but like real people that exist in meat space.
  5. You missed Nintendo's games from last year. Because not even Nintendo is immune from giving us games with attractive characters. Those include... Fire Emblem Engage Fire Emblem Engage, I guess doesn't count because there's also a trans character in it. I seem to recall all of the Internet thirsting over... Zelda TotK What about Pokemon? There was the new Detective Pikachu last year... Maybe the Advance Wars remake? YouTube ragebait is a thing that people just fall for every day. Rage grifters just looking to make a buck.
  6. I just need to point out that it's really hard to go over the rest of your list and take it seriously when your very first choice looks exactly like her actress. What are you even on about? You need to back up off the ragebait YouTube. It's all brainrot. I notice these chuds always use the same two or three screenshots to prove their point about characters being ugly. Same crazies that argued Aloy in Horizon Forbidden West was ugly. I won't even click on that video. It mentions Pokemon in the thumbnail and Pokemon most recently gave us the two hottest professors in the history of the franchise.

  8. What I always find amusing about this is that tech stocks soar because there's a rush to get in early before the company goes profitable or get in before some big acquisition. The other major tech companies near the top of the valuation charts are basically companies so huge we can't really picture the market without them. I don't understand where Tesla falls in there. The company is already twenty years old. They're already at the profitable stage of their existence...sort of. They're valued too high to actually be bought out by anyone. They don't have more street data than either Apple or Google. They own NACS, but they've given it away, royalty free. Their lead was in electric car sales, which they won't have for much longer, and battery production...which seems like an unfulfilled promise at this point. Everytime I see their stock rise I feel like I'm missing something and I just don't know what.
  9. I mean, yeah. With increased graphical fidelity, game characters look more realistic. Also, there's been a sort of acknowledgement within the industry that gaming isn't just a hobby enjoyed by 13yo boys, so there really isn't a need to pander to only little kids anymore. Things like bikini armor only ever existed to pander to kids. Horizon Forbidden West definitely targets an older audience. I mean, the primary antagonists are tech bros with unchecked greed. Capitalism is the enemy is not normally the subject for kids' games.
  10. People who complain about Horizon Forbidden West not having enough attractive male and female characters are crazy to me. It's not good enough that most of the main cast is conventionally attractive, but we also need little miss peasant farmer over here to look like Jessica Rabbit while we kill off everyone over 40.
  11. I have such a soft spot for tsundere leads in action series. We really don't get them all that often. Haruka being a try hard cupcake that can actually kick some serious ass is a lot of fun. I'll definitely keep up with your one and then maybe even pick up the manga afterwards. I already have the manga bookmarked in the Kodansha's app. An English dub is coming... Should note. This is based on my impression after 3 episodes. It could certainly fall off from here, but Cloverworks has a damn good track record.

  13. Nah, you're not alone there. It didn't click for me either. I'm all for immature and foul comedy, but this one didn't land for me. This is the second series by Vivienne Medrano that kind of fell flat for me. I gave her previous work, Helluva Boss, more of a chance than Hazbin Hotel. I think I watched like 4 or 5 episodes of that one before I checked out. Hazbin Hotel is very much playing to her fans, so I can't fault her there.

  16. I can't really think of any. Storybots is the only other series that comes to mind that targets the same age groups and doesn't treat kids like idiots. However, it's also a very different kind of show and not a narrative fiction like Bluey. Storybots is more Magic School Bus for Gen Alpha. There are other great animated series for that 5-10 age range. Just none that are aiming to teach kids something. I wouldn't put, say, Hilda in the same genre, but I would say it also does an equally good job of entertaining adults and children. Honestly, pretty sure my son and I enjoyed Hilda about equally.
  17. It's one of, if not the only, palatable kids show that doesn't shut away from now serious discussions. My kids are just the right age and the only other series I can think of that tackles real life situations as well as Bluey is Daniel Tiger, but Daniel Tiger is very much for small children, complete with little songs about how to use the toilet or count to ten. Bluey is very much a series designed for children where parents can also sit in and enjoy themselves. There isn't enough content like that. Sure, my kids like SpongeBob and Amazing World of Gumball and I can sit there and enjoy those with them, but Bluey is the only one that'll actually somehow enrich them. I was so disappointed in that special. A real shame because I really think they could have had some fun and interesting topics otherwise.

  20. I'd be more worried when those single player games stop selling. However, half of the best selling games last year were single player games with the top selling game being Hogwarts or Zelda.
  21. I know, I'm just agreeing with that sentiment. That's why I previously mentioned WB because they had a great selling single player game followed by a flop of a live service game, but their conclusion is that they need more live service games. The videogame industry is run by execs with brain worms.
  22. Monthly average users over the course of an entire year is such a terrible way to measure player engagement of a tight, single player RPG. A game that everyone is playing and gushing over a few months after release is going to overtaken by the popular live service and multiplayer games. Nintendo seems to be the only anomaly here with three single player games making it into the top ten. Five, if you count Pokemon and Animal Crossing.
  23. Ha! Yeah, I didn't watch it, but mostly because I already read the report they're talking about...also, I could totally be playing a new game in the half hour they talk about the thing I already read.
  24. I remember when these numbers first popped up and this was my take away. New game comes out, a bunch of people buy/play them, and then go back to their long time favorites. I don't see this as a bad thing. The industry has had this unhealthy obsession with holding onto players' attention for as long as possible, even if the game doesn't warrant it. There is nothing wrong with a great single player game that everyone pays for and then moves on from. However, that's treated like some sort of failure; like how WB wants to double down on live service games and move away from even ultra successful single player games. I get that everyone wants to be the next forever game, but the industry is going to kill itself if that's all everyone is aiming for. I just read an article about this sort of thing earlier today... I'm so sick of games that shoot themselves in the foot just to boost phoney player engagement numbers | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Someone please take the shotgun away from in-game economy designers who are ruining the goodwill built up by the rest of the team.
