  1. DiMartino and Konietzko are back at Nickelodeon with a whole studio dedicated to Avatar stuff all for themselves, but the live action series is still getting made and now we have some casting. I don't know if this was ever posted, but we already know the main crew. Netflix announces cast, creatives for the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender WWW.POLYGON.COM ‘This was a chance to showcase Asian and Indigenous characters as living, breathing people’ The newest casting is Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai. Avatar: The Last Airbender casts Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai WWW.POLYGON.COM Kim is returning to the Avatar universe after voicing characters in Last Airbender and Legend of Korra I mean...is there anything Kim isn't great in? I know he's in his fifties, but I still say he'd be the best Namor you could find. That's way off topic here, though.
  2. I just saw an alert from my city that scheduling for children will open starting on Friday. I wonder if I can squeeze my son to get his while on the way home from school.
  3. How about this for a new headline: Argument between CPD couple leaves husband shot in the chest. I so hate these ridiculous headlines.
  4. Don't worry. As per new FEC rules, team Canada can just throw money at a new referendum.
  5. I wonder how much of that is just the game being kinda shitty. Working with the Pokemon Company for Pokemon Go had to have been better for the end product than working with the team that made DC Legends good mobile. I had to actually look up what they ever had even worked on. Teaming up with Nintendo is likely to end up with a better game. I mean, all of Nintendo's mobile titles have been pretty solid. Either way, I have it a shot and Pikmin Bloom is not for me. I'm not playing any location based games these days, but I don't see it beating Pokemon Go.
  6. How? What? How do ballot initiatives not count as elections? They just be narrowly defining elections as being only for people running for some office or position.
  7. I used to live in this great renovated mill from the 1800s. It was an awesome place. I was there for like six years. Down the block there were the remnants of another mill. They dug that spot of land for some new project. Apparently, the old basement system of that mill that was closed forever ago was home to hundreds of thousands of mice and they went EVERYWHERE in the neighborhood once construction began. They chewed up my NAS, pissed all over my TiVo, tried to set up a nest in my subwoofer, broke in and ate half of my dogs dry food, shit and pissed all over my luggage. One electrocuted itself on my gaming PC's PSU. Nothing like packing for a trip, opening up your suitcase, and finding a dead mouse and other goodies inside. I also enjoyed the day it sounded like clans were going to war in the ceiling above my bedroom. I have a buddy that manages a local exterminator. He came by, helped out as much as he could over the weekend. We caught like thirty mice and then he told me to just leave because it'll take a few years for the neighborhood to be critter free with all the construction scheduled. Fuck man. I almost literally burned everything when we moved, and even still, somehow, I found a mouse head stuck in the tape on the bottom of one of the boxes of dishes. That was a cool surprise when I was breaking some boxes down after moving. Fuck mice.
  8. Because, of all the major carriers of rabies, bats are the ones modern humans are most likely to encounter thanks to the overhangs and attics of our houses being just perfect places to chill during the day. I know many people who've been freaked out at finding a bar in their attic. Second only to move as far as mammal pests go. Because of that bats account for 70% of all rabies infections among humans. I think bats get a bad rap. So much so that I was trying to convince my wife to let me put up a house for them in the forest behind our house to try to keep away the mosquitos during the summer. No dice, but I also get that mice are cute in cages, but not so much running around your house. Mice flying around your house is that much more horrifying.
  9. I'm just assuming that's like Batman 89 versus Batman TAS.
  10. The exclusives are not cheap, but wildly enough, the free games apparently are...at least according to the documents that came out during their lawsuit with Apple. Epic spent at least $11.6 million on free games and gained 5 million new users in return WWW.THEVERGE.COM Over the first 10 months of the Epic Games Store. I'm going to guess they paid more for GTAV than they did for Subnautica. I'm ignoring the Batman games because that's a steal for Epic. $1.5 million to offer to the entire trilogy for free? I feel like it would be easier for them to offer free games indefinitely than it would be to buy exclusives...unless those exclusives pay for themselves. From the looks of other reports, that hasn't been the case for most of their exclusives.
  11. I'm wondering if it was the same face I made when I found out a friend was doing the exact same because her job rejected her religious exemption letter. Like we were raised in the same church for twenty years of our lives. What are you doing?
  12. There a great bit of dialog that's easy to miss regarding the fridge after a certain someone hitches a ride on your ship either at the end of chapter 11 or beginning of chapter 12. I will, once more, blame everything on Rocket.
  13. Ha, thanks. Those months after my son's surgery were the worst we've ever experienced. He had surgery on his stomach and was only allowed half an ounce of food at a time, so we had to feed him, every half hour, 24/7.
  14. I might like every character here better than any of their movie counterparts...except maybe Chris Pratt's Star-Lord because he was seemingly born for the role. Even then, part of that might be only be because they had to leave enough wiggle room for the player to role play here. That takes absolutely nothing away from the Jon McLaren's Star-Lord. His work on this game is wildly well done. This game has very much been a "I just got the vaccine booster and I really should be resting, but I'm playing this instead" kind of game. You know how there's a bunch of games where people say they have great stories, but they don't really? They just have good stories for a videogame. This one is just a great story and the cast really carries it. It's so good that I don't even care that I upset Rocket by letting Drax throw him across that ravine. It's the only time in the game anyone got upset with me, but that rodent bastard deserved it for the joke he pulled on me.
  15. I don't know how many times I've closed that damn fridge. I also can't believe I've closed two different fridges in this game. I blame Rocket for not fixing it.
  16. I would love an Ant Man game by this same team, even if I have no idea how they'd be able to do the shrinking in real time. That would require some wild loading of assets as everything changes from human scale to ant scale.
  17. It's a whodunit with an entire ship of murders and unexpected deaths where you jump back and forth through time trying to figure out how everyone died. I quite enjoyed it. Like @Keyser_Soze said, it controls like a FPS, but there is zero action and you're the only thing that actually moves. Everything else is frozen in individual moments of time.
  18. My first born was sleeping 8 hours a night the day be was born. He will literally sleep though diaper changes, blood draws, vaccinations, everything...then he needed surgery at a month and he wasn't going back to 8 hours a night until he was like 4 months old. He will still sleep forever if you let him. I've forgotten to wake him up on a Saturday and then shocked myself when I have to drag him out of bed at like 2 in the afternoon. We mistakenly thought that was sort of normal, then we had our second...who woke up in the middle of the night all the time and just silently sat in her crib. She still does that today, but then we found out that was the autism. Light or dark doesn't matter to her. She'll entertain herself for hours with just a spoon in the middle of the dark. Easy going so far, right? We pushed our luck with the third. I'm thinking she was the normal one. Those were some wild sleepless nights. I swear we barely survived. She wasn't happy unless she was being held out had a bottle in her.
  19. This new story reminded of this post from last month... Gun Church Linked to Moonies Has Made Alliances With Top MAGA Figures WWW.BUSINESSINSIDER.COM "This is a powder keg," Steven Hassan, a former Moonie, told Insider. "When you combine fanatics with people who own a gun factory, I'm very worried." I didn't realize the Unification Church had opened up a gun church which is getting a good amount of right-wing attention. This sounds like just the sort of thing we needed in this country.
  20. Now I'm actually interested in Avengers. I didn't really have much interest in co-op and I just about never bother with post-game content. Either way, I'm really enjoying Guardians. The banter is perfect and I like the way the team play works here.
  21. The Animal Crossing DLC is weird. If you cancel your subscription you lose access to the archipelago, but you retain access to anything DLC-related that's on your main island.
  22. THAT right there is the only mistake this movie makes. I was actually going to point this out, but it seemed way to obscure and some people were already confused over what this movie was. I would so have loved it if this were the case, but I'm not sure how they pull it off in full Pixar CG. It would probably be easier to fake 60s or 70s special effects over 90s effects. For Andy, Jurassic Park came out a couple of years before Lightyear. Maybe this movie is doing most of its heavy lifting with some of the best "practical" effects ever.
