I like Civ a lot. Having played VI a bunch lately, and kind of reaching burnout with it a little bit, I think the number one thing I'd like to see them try to do is give you some new options in the late game. There are a bunch of games where somewhere in the mid-game whatever strategy you were going for kinda locks in, and you get yourself into a position where you have a clear advantage over everybody else, but it still takes a lot time to actually hit the win condition you're going for. Whether it's actually getting your missionaries to haul their asses around the map to convert cities, or getting enough tourists for a culture victory (the math to which I still don't understand at all), whatever it is. And at this point, you usually have a bunch of cities to assign work to, and at a certain point some of them just become completely inconsequential. I think they need to find a way to either make it feel like what you're doing on each turn still matters and you're not just sort of running the clock out, or just have you hit win conditions faster once you've gotten close, while still making it possible for people lagging behind to come back if the leader isn't THAT close.

The new thing today is that you're being forced off of text message 2FA if you're not a blue check because Elon is too cheap to send the texts out. You can still use 2FA via authentication app, but I'm probably gonna make more of an active effort to stop using this site. There was a post a few days back on the forbidden website that went viral, where some conservative chud asked ChatGPT if it was morally acceptable to say the N-word if the N-word was the only thing that could disable a nuclear bomb that would kill millions, and got very mad when it gave a very stock answer about how racial slurs are never okay. Reading the replies, it became very clear that a lot of people fundamentally don't understand what these chat bots are and aren't doing, and they earnestly think it was actually, like, coming up with a numerical value of the worth of a million human lives, and that the evil lib coders programmed it so that its value of "wokeness" or whatever would come out higher than that.

This is the most sensible take I've heard re: the gas stove thing tl, dr: Reactionaries acting like jackboots are going to come rip a stove out of your wall are dumb as hell, gas stoves probably are bad for your health to some degree. It's almost certainly not so bad that it's worth replacing a gas stove in good working order, but induction will get cheaper over time and induction is better than gas and way better than old coil electric, which is what most people are imagining when they have a conniption about this.
