I haven't been able to stop thinking about the fact that the marriage website case was brought on behalf of a woman who had designed exactly zero marriage websites. These cases are entirely vibes-based. Working completely backwards starting from whatever SCOTUS outcome they're trying to get to.

Supposedly due to "extreme levels of data scraping", unverified accounts are now limited to reading 600 Tweets per day. People have been predicting the site's death since last fall and it's doggedly kept moving until now, but I dunno, it might actually be cooked this time. Seems like an absurd restriction to put on unless you're not sure if you can keep the lights on.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Italy, which kicked ass. We used the high speed trains for 3 different trips. I guess it's a step down from my experience with the Shinkansen in Japan in that the train was actually like 10 minutes late one time, but it's as comfortable a ride and extremely easy to buy tickets from an app and find your platform at the stations. We need cool-ass trains in this country, man. I really think it's a radicalizing experience to use one of these systems once. I think so many people who scoff at the idea of investing in trains really have no concept of what riding a modern train is actually like because the entire stock of passenger train cars in the US is from like 1966. -

LAPD shoots and kills at least 1 dog at homeless encampment in South LA ABC7.COM Police have shot and killed a chained-up dog at a homeless encampment in South Los Angeles. Apparently you don't have to say "police-involved shooting" when it's a dog that gets shot. You can just say what happened in the headline in plain terms. Interesting.
