I'm seeing videos on Twitter of people standing in big lines in Russia, purporting to show that there's a run on Russian banks happening right now. Is there anything to this?

Also, they just added total number of views to the stats at the bottom of tweets, I'm assuming as some kind of half-baked attempt to convince advertisers that they're not losing engagement, and they put first in the row, so the reply button is now shifted over from where it was. If you click where you're used to clicking you get a pop up that just says "Views: Times this tweet was seen." Another triumph for Elon.

Tesla will currently sell you a preorder for a truck that doesn't exist yet and take $10k from you for a self-driving feature that doesn't work yet. This dude is not going to have qualms about charging an $11 subscription to people before all the features are rolled out.

The ban on cross-promoted other sites has been completely scrubbed of the site now. This man simply does not have the Mod mentality. Folds like a house of cards at the slightest pushback.

Just imagine the immense privilege it represents to be able to take a private jet halfway across the earth to attend one of the best sporting events in recent memory, and instead of just taking in moment you spend the entire rest of the night accelerating the utter collapse of the website that you spent $44 billion on.

There's some more in the pipeline from the sound of it, but right now the two big ones people are migrating to are Post and Mastodon. I don't know as much about Post. It's in kind of a closed beta right now and you need to get on a wait-list to join. Mastodon you can just sign up right away. The look and feel of Mastodon is very similar to Twitter, but what's turning some people off is they have this weird philosophy where they seem to want to try and be Discord and Twitter at the same time. Basically you don't just sign up for Mastodon, you pick one of a bunch of different decentralized servers. Some are very general--like you can just sign up for mastodon.social which is the closest thing to a "main" Mastodon site, but you can also pick a specialized one based around a certain topic. You can still follow people from different servers and view everyone's posts in a single timeline, but there's basically one annoying extra step in following someone on a different server unless you download some browser extensions.

Elon's new idea tonight is that Twitter Blue subscribers get to downvote people.

It's basically the same as Twitter with one annoying extra step, which is that if you want to follow someone on a different network you have to go back to your own page and put their name in the search bar instead of just clicking follow.

If you liked Knives Out, you'll like Glass Onion. At the beginning there's some celebrity cameos that felt really shoe-horned in to me that had me worried that the whole movie was going to have jumped the shark kinda feel, but once it got into the meat of it, it's great. Also, when you see who Edward Norton's character is obviously based on and the ultimate conclusion the movie reaches about him, the release of this movie is... timely.
