  1. Welp, I love Mario, I don't have a Switch (yet), and these announcements are both exciting and frustrating. It makes sense for Super Mario 3D World, like New Super Mario Bros. U before it, is making the transition to the Switch, but with added content, which is cool. 1) Why is Super Mario Galaxy 2 not included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars? Why was it ignored to the point it wasn't in their historical retrospective video (it was left off, seemingly)? 2) Shouldn't a new re-release of Super Mario All-Stars come bundled with Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island at this point? Just add them on. They seem like weird omissions at this point for a 2D mainline Mario games bundle. Remember, I don't believe these two games are available anywhere except on SNES and GBA (and emulation, of course)? 3) Why can Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy be at 60fps and not Super Mario Sunshine? It makes more sense for Super Mario 64 to remain at 4:3 though, that's the game's real aspect ratio, so that I don't mind (glad to see Sunshine get the widescreen support though, since that game is much more recent). Also, will Super Mario 64 be based on the DS version or the original N64 version? 4) I think it was a really missed opportunity not to move New Super Mario Bros. Wii to the Switch, bundling it with New Super Mario Bros. U + Luigi U when they moved that over to the Switch. Still seeing no bundle announcement nor no separate release moving New Super Mario Bros. Wii to the Switch is bizarre, given it's the only mainline Mario game (that and Galaxy 2 now) that aren't being moved to the Switch. Weird. I'm unsure if the fact they are both Wii games matters.
  2. Collider also really liked the first few episodes, giving them a B+: https://collider.com/raised-by-wolves-review-hbo-max-ridley-scott/
  3. I find this to be very interesting news. You can't really . . . replace Sofia Coppola (who was awful, somewhat not her fault for having to replace Winona Ryder last minute), and the movie isn't bad, but it could certainly be made better too. I'm very curious. The title for the re-edit is unwiedly (Mario Puzo's The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone), but this seemed like big news. It should be noted Coppola always originally wanted to call this film The Death of Michael Corleone instead of The Godfather Part III (Part III makes more sense to me). https://www.slashfilm.com/godfather-iii-reedit/
  4. Yes, I know, I was just being facetious, as I explained earlier in the thread. Also: Potentially this? As I said earlier, are we sure it doesn't count? It may right?
  5. Hahaha but at this point you've lost the martial arts angle altogether! Haha yes I'm counting it and you're right about a separate universe (or is it?), I just want people to remember it exists.
  6. And why would I do that? I do remember those movies though. Don't forget there is also Surf Ninjas! A classic, I quote it all the time, no joke.
  7. Technically there are five Karate Kid movies and a 1 season, 13-episode animated TV series, and Cobra Kai.
  8. I simply meant there might be a test of some kind, not a blood test though. I had assumed that yeah, there's no blood test for colon cancer, I should have been more clear heh.
  9. That sucks! But, I'm glad you've been taking care of it and getting tests, etc. But yeah, as we get older, there's stuff here and there to add. I mean, I like to know where I stand and I like to be safe. My dad's a cardiologist, so my advice is probably a bit aggressive. I would say you're more normal/reasonable.
  10. I am similarly surprised, though a regular physical wouldn't have found this. I'm more surprised they don't do everything under the sun. Correct. Both my parents and both of my younger brother are all doctors, so I'm surrounded haha. It's why each decade of your life you're supposed to add more and more workups to your life. Turning 30, stress tests for heart, blood tests, etc. Turn 40, colonoscopy, etc. Turn 50, and so on. It's very important. Standard bloodwork panels don't catch most diseases and issues, just some of the more obvious and basic health stuff (still super important to do though!). Most worse issues require much more and a variety of tests. Worst of it is, you might be perfectly healthy for years and not even know you are sick outwardly - all the more reason to test for these invisible diseases and issues. I'm pretty sure this is the case, unless you know what to look for I believe (in which case perhaps there are other ways to find it/test for it), which you wouldn't typically know to look for.
  11. I was genuinely wondering about this when it happened, from a legal perspective. Crazy.
  12. Honestly, I'm not sure what people were expecting, in some ways. Season 3 finished off book 3, and books 4 + 5, already having been out by the time the corresponding seasons 4+ 5 rolled out, are much bigger books than the previous three (with overlapping timelines, etc). They open up the world so much (that's why some thought, amongst other reasons, books 4/5 were a slog). Benioff and Weiss knew that once season 5 came out (not so much season 4, which was on stronger footing due to the overlapping timelines nature of books 4/5), which half-attempted to both open up the plotlines/world just as books 4/5 did whilst at the same time trying to remain "small" because otherwise the show would need much longer/more seasons to cover all the book 4/5 material. By season 5, they'd literally run out of chapters for many (but not all) of the characters, and no book 6 in sight. That's why season 5 is both good and frustrating and why there are videos out there of all the dropped plotlines from seasons 1-5 that seasons 6-8 don't bother with. When Benioff and Weiss realized no book 6 would be coming soon enough to help them determine if the show should keep opening up more plotlines so they decided to start going their own way fully for season 6 onward but by then they'd set up too many plotlines that required a proper adaptation of the rest of the series (they needed the books at this point), otherwise you'd have to create shortcuts, eliminate plotlines, etc. whilst still trying to give the ending Martin intends for his books whilst appeasing both book and TV fans . . . which is what happened. I'm not sure it was possible. Theoretically, yes, but difficult all the same. They should have gone into the show having planned better about what to do about 1) adapting books 4 and 5; and 2) the very real possibility Martin will not have finished his books by the time you finish adapting book 5; and 3) can the show, even as wildly successful as it did become, handle adapting books 4 and 5, which means books 6 and 7 will be even more sprawling things that will need to be adapted? Stuff like that. It was inevitable. I still believe seasons 1-4 are pretty much untouchable, and there are parts I like about season 5 (it has Hardhome!). Seasons 6-8 are meh except the last two episodes of season 6, which are EPIC. Even the bad seasons are so slickly made that it helps paper over a lot, but as a big book fan, all the writing shortcuts and inadequacies made it too hard to ignore.
  13. I mean, I really disliked most of seasons 7+8 of Game of Thrones, but Benioff has proven himself time and again in the film space for writing and adapting scripts. I have hope/faith.
  14. I don't even follow Pain of Salvation so I do keep wondering why you tag me. But I'm watching.
  15. It's true, I watch some of the top rated Korean dramas but otherwise K-shows don't interest me, but I do always read your reviews!
  16. He was a playmaker that helped bring us into the playoffs last year when our team was gutted with injuries. I expect some surprises from him!
  17. You asked about health and lineup - I asked if you meant a deep threat or not already.
  18. It has a spin-off show coming out (not adapting the other books though), but I imagine sequels (adapting the sequel books) will be in movie form or not at all. Villenueve already has the script ready to go to shoot the second half of this duology adaptation of the first book, if this movie does well enough.
