  2. Perhaps if you spent more time studying the Jedi mind trick instead of showboating with fancy saber forms you wouldn't have such troubles, dear young Padawan.
  3. Upon viewing with a 1440p monitor everything in the PC version looks sharper than the X1X. Textures are certainly less muddy. I would bet that the X1X is probably using some crappy post-processing Anti-Aliasing filter which might be reducing texture quality, but since you can't change that setting on consoles the PC still comes out with a win. To me the difference between the PC and X1X in terms of sharpness is comparable to the difference between the X and the Pro. Snow deformation also seems to use more tessellation on PC. But I couldn't quite make out any differences in terms of (close up) model quality (that couldn't be explained by texture sharpness), and likewise lighting and shadows seemed similar.
  4. @SaysWho? Well, you can save a whole $8 for your waiting! https://www.bestbuy.com/site/black-friday/movie-music-ad/pcmcat1568908778894.c?id=pcmcat1568908778894 Looks like Best Buy will have 4k Toy Story for $22. Fucking Disney is upcharging for their movies across the board compared to previous years. I got Infinity War in 4k for $15 last year, and less than that were 4k versions of Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Ant-Man & The Wasp. Meanwhile other studios are maintaining reasonable prices.
  5. Perhaps try running CHKDSK (at startup command line) or Disk Error Checking (under Windows environment) first, then trying to delete the file and/or updating. That being said, doing a fresh install isn't so bad anymore. Most things are saved in the cloud, and if you sign into Windows with your Microsoft account it'll remember your background and wallpaper settings. The two folders you might want to manually back up, just in case you need to recover saved data or configuration settings, are your Documents (assuming you didn't move it to a different drive by changing the Target folder) and AppData folder. Doing a fresh install on my older PC did smooth out my gaming performance.
  6. Since the standard is already in display devices it should be in the next generation of, at least, high end video cards. I'm only slightly surprised AMD's recent 5700 cards don't have HDMI 2.1 because they usually adopt standards before they take off (they were the first to implement DisplayPort), but they are really just the mid-range cards of the "new" generation/architecture, and can't really handle 4k beyond 60 Hz anyway.
  7. Looks like it's up to motherboard vendors to implement the fix, and some have done it and some are still working on it. They are also probably updating BIOS's starting from their newest boards and working backwards. But the good news is that there is an actual fix for this, unlike the Phenom's TLB bug in which the fix severely degraded performance.
  8. The time to replace it will be when RTX is featured in more games and when RTX-capable cards get cheaper and more powerful.
  9. This should work pretty well as a series. The 1 season of the animated show (what, a decade ago now) was really good.
  10. Is there plenty of activity on the PC? Just this year and last the number of active (64 player) servers I could find in BF3, BF4, and BF1 was like 10... combined. I've been in the mood to experience some Battlefield gameplay, but I don't want to drop money on BFV and not get to play a solid rotation of maps.
  11. The beta was solid, and there aren't a lot of other major releases or shooters (*Battlecough*) competing with it. Free reign!
  12. I just played the Titanfall 2 campaign and was extremely impressed. The game also looked quite good maxed out on PC, so I think Fallen Order will look better than the videos have shown. But the tight story and efficient world-building of the game has given me encouragement for what Respawn can do with the Star Wars Universe.
  13. Along the with thematic shifts in TLJ from TFA, we were also literally told to, "Let old things die."
  14. If Solo showed us anything, it's that coaxium is reeeeaaaally hard to get, and like super expensive.
  15. Sounds like the game is going to play like a melee version of Tomb Raider, which should be fine. I also be in it for the story and lore, too. The game looks a bit better than what they showed at E3, but graphically speaking it seems a bit off. Lighting and shadows bug me; I wonder if there will be a ray-tracing patch or a remaster when the next gen consoles come out because that would solve the issue.
  16. I had a feeling this was looming so I decided to cancel last month. I hardly watched it to begin with. If I ever feel like I need cable I think I'll try YoutubeTV, which is reasonably priced for what they offer.
  17. https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/category/instant-ship-systems/ Any of the sub-$700 systems will get the job done, and are pretty solid values. These are the best options I could find on Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare?CompareItemList=83-102-697%2C9SIA6V6A134253%2C83-102-720%2C83-102-793%2C83-102-722 This by far offers the best gaming performance, coming in right at your budget; the video card is just leagues better than anything else: https://www.newegg.com/abs-computer-technologies-mage-e-ala107/p/N82E16883102697?Item=N82E16883102697 To build one yourself, I would keep it well under your budget while keeping your options for future upgrades: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yFTRGc
  18. To build your own on that budget is doable but to get the best value you'll want to check slickdeals and reddit/buildapcsales daily for super sales. Since you may be short on time Cyberpower does have good options for your budget. Also you can start out with 8gb of RAM and add more later, since system builders upcharged on RAM heavily. 8gb is fine for most games, only 2019 AAA releases need more.
  19. Also are you going to need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, controllers for $700 too?
  20. Cyberpower will offer a better bang for the buck than HP or Alienate. $700 is a pretty tight budget, but doable. How long do you want this to last? Strategy can be to maximize performance now, or build something that you can dump more money into a few years from now through upgrades.
