  1. TABS is definitely the perfect game I would never spend money on but will absolutely put 35 minutes into.
  2. They probably also make it clear when things are happening. The problem with the show is not being non-chronological but not making the chronology clear.
  3. Anything made in the last 10 years. The vast majority of the sets look empty, sterile, and contrived. Many of the props look straight up fake. Just take a look at the scenes from the skull cave, it all reminds me just a little too much of the 1982 classic The Beastmaster.
  4. I'm liking the series slightly more since watching the second and third episode, but man the costumes, sets, and lighting make the show look like dogshit sometimes. The forest in the fourth episode is particularly awful.
  5. I didn't really need a sequel to Hellblade since it felt pretty self-contained, but it's also the exact type of game that could benefit from the refinements a sequel would offer. If they turn up the combat to feel rewarding and do everything they did right in the first game well, a sequel could be fantastic.
  6. Disco Elysium deserves all the recognition it can get.
  7. The Ashley Burch Award goes to Mads Mikkelsen, nice to see some lesser known voice actors get their due.
  8. Coming up with ten is kind of hard. Inside Llewyn Davis Whiplash Parasite Your Name I want to round it out to an even five, but I can't think of another movie I saw that stands with these four.
  9. There are plenty of movies that are above clickbait youtube criticism, but I suspect TLJ is not among them.
  10. It's been a long while since I've read the comic book, but this is the impression I get. Whoever they give Dr. Manhattan's powers would just be Dr. Manhattan. The nature of his powers would make who he was prior to becoming Dr. Manhattan irrelevant.
  11. No wonder this show reminded me so much of LOST. I'm liking the show quite a bit but the thing I'm enjoying most is trying to unravel the differences between this world and our own. I also think this show does a good job with addressing politics in the year of our lord 2019. Every time I laugh at the idea of Robert Redford being president I remember how implausible our current predicament would seem if only it were fiction. "Is this a Zeus thing?" has to be the line of the series.
  12. I know digital foundry videos are mostly about performance, but it's super obnoxious to see a video call something a game of the year contender and then say almost nothing about the gameplay. Is this a good game?
  13. Sayonara Wild Hearts fucking blows and I'm mad I bought it. The levels are so short and with the exception of the song in the trailer the music is bland electronic noises. The gameplay is a sloppy temple run that doesn't interact with the rhythm at all. The game is absolute trash and everyone needs to know.
  14. I can think of few books less filmable than Call of the Wild.
