General Gaming Dragon Quest XI Reviews (PC Orchestral mod out)

It grows really tiresome to converse with you when nothing in my post necessitates this response. He doesn’t need my defense. I just appreciate him and what he brings to the boards. I’ll keep to myself from here... -

He almost always has comprehensive, specific criticisms, especially if challenged on his opinions. It’s a nice contrast to a lot of people who post pretty much the same thing for any new game that comes out. I would say he’s consistent in his bluntness, but I actually don’t have a great feel for what games he will like and not like. And when he does like something, I perk up, because he doesn’t just jump on the bandwagon of omg this game is awesome with every big release. -

Gertsmann of all people was raving about this game. My hype level has never been higher. -
Base destiny 2 is still a pretty good get. I almost bought GOW 3 after finishing the new one, so this is great.

DQ8 is one of my favorite games. I was led to believe 7 was the best game in the series for a long time, so when it came out on 3DS of course I’m gonna jump on it. I think DQ7 is a turd. All that useless information aside, I can’t wait for this one. -

I hear ya, but CD doesn’t make 60 hour hack-a-thons. I’ll go like 3 hours in the Witcher without fighting a single enemy. And it looks like they’re giving you the ability to stealth or negotiate your way out of a lot of scenarios. I’m not saying don’t be critical of the combat, but there’s a lot to their games. -

Are there unique FPS games that you like or do you just not really like FPS. I’m not saying it looked incredible or anything but it looks like a quality RPG shooting game. Other that that I think it’s hard to say until we actually get our hands on it in terms of feel. Plus, the combat isn’t really the focus in these games. -

I would agree that the millennial generation is more sensitive to offensive language or actions. But when it is pointed out that something is offensive or insensitive, there is at least an equal push back by the other “side” who has a shit fit about how millennials can’t handle anything and that the world is ruined. (Meanwhile these are the people who have all the fucking power and actually in fact fucked everything up and elected a toddler). Again though, the reality is there is A SPECTRUM of responses to stuff like this, and even if you say, oh hey this shouldn’t be said, it’s very patronizing to an extremely marginalized group, even if you’re not like appalled by it and you just acknowledge and state that out loud, you are cast as a crazy snowflake and the reason for all things wrong in America. That statement deserved be to called out. -

It's easy to see why you feel the way you do if you genuinely believe that to be true. -

I have a fear the show will actually eventually destroy both marriages and in turn the show. Though it had already gone longer than I ever thought it would. -

We just got a puppy so probably everything except I’ve been saving further progress in octopath as my puppy training game. -

This is said ad nauseam with zero evidence other than that’s what people who weren’t offended want to be true. Also their apology is a non-apology. It’s not acceptable to the people they offended because they didn’t apologize for their actions. -

There are reactions across the spectrum. It was a stupid, and yes, offensive, thing to post. I would say I’ve seen the vast majority of people react pretty mild to not at all to it. Then you have the people who are pretty extreme and say (keyword “say”) they aren’t going to buy it. And you have the alt right people building their narrative and conspiracy theories. So yeah, basically a typical Wednesday. CDPR issued a boiler plate “I’m sorry if anyone was offended by the offensive thing we said,” apology. -

Let me attempt to predict his response: What kind of game is this? It reminds me of a game called Halo. Have you guys heard of Halo? What is it like? -
I could see them staying with Norse gods for several games. But I could also see them get real weird with it and combine mythologies in-game.
