I have a helmet that's basically just a bug on my face. With flappy wings. I figure something this stupid looking has got to have purpose, but the stats seem kinda meh. Decent resistance though.

I have one stuffed in my stash somewhere.

Played 6 hours today. I upgraded both my flasks(found 2 golden seeds)and sword because I found 3 sombering stones from exploring. I'm level 66 and today I beat:

Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon

Royal Knight Loretta

Ancient Hero of Zamor

Runebear

Death Bird

Adan Thief of Fire

2 Nights calvary out in the open

I opened up another part of the map, too. The game is massive and extremely addicting. I had a very successful day. :)

This will be tough to beat this year for me in goty award. It's incredible.

Did you find the sword of night and flame in Caria Manor?

I barely got to play today. Had people over for dinner, so I spent the day prepping and cooking. Honestly, I mostly thought about Elden Ring, and early I wad a bit bitter that I had the wonderful idea of inviting friends to dinner, but I got over it fairly quickly.

Ditto. Had shit to do all day.

This game is incredibly addictive. When I'm not playing I think about where I wanna go next, what weapon to try next, what Ash to try on what weapon next, how to bla bla...

I tried about 7 times to beat Margit coop and didn’t really get much further than by myself weirdly. I guess they must scale him or maybe I had bad luck. It seems like I’m joining the other persons game instead of them joining mine either way I tried to do it and idk if that matters or not. I’ll do some more exploring and leveling up tomorrow before trying again either way, 24 isn’t high enough for me.

It's crazy how one weapon/armor tweak can make all the difference. I must have tried 25 times to beat the hound... something something (that purple spot on the ground in Limgrave) and he was just tearing me to shreds with his blood effect. Could never get him down past 80% health. Changed from my medium shield to my tower shield, and then every attack I blocked staggered him. Did my counter attack each time and he was dead in like, 20 seconds.

Does it have a fake multiplayer invaision happen often? This is my second one then after the one I had in the house place.

I've had it happen at least three or four times, but they all seem to happen in specific places, and each of them drops a unique item.

I've encountered it 3 times I believe, they only happen in certain areas.

It definitely scales.

Normally I'm always looking forward to the next game. Id be trying to finish the golden path to jump into triangle strategy or GT7. I haven't even considered booting up Forbidden West to finish the last few side quests I want to do. I also bought Triangle Strategy, but I'll play that when I'm away from home/waiting on the wife at stores/at work in April.

With Elden Ring, It's like, "Sorry, other games, you can all wait and pile up, because I've got at least a hundred more hours to put into Elden Ring."

@Xbob42

You were the one who was saying how you can't use your runes with out the men closing, right? I don't know if this has be mentioned or not but...

If you change from "Detailed view" to "Simple view" (press down on the right stick) you can use runes with out the menu closing.

I just happened to figure this out on my own.

As someone who has yet to go north I feel like the true path of the game is to go completely south first. Just finished Castle Mourne and the boss there certainly gives you a weapon to work towards using. 40 strength :epilepsy:

Other than that made other progress. Killed that first dragon. Also since I had good fortune with a trap chest I wanted to go to the trap chest towards the beginning of the game (near the dragon) because I avoided it at first. Not as fortunate with this one, I would probably have been angry if I got caught in that early in the game. :p  Luckily I do have some badass hammer which is good for some of the enemies there.

I also went South and cleared Castle Morne before even going to Stormveil.

To anyone that’s finished the lake region to the north. Do I just suck at exploring or are there way less mini dungeons up here than in the starting area?

I finally found the sorcerer lady and got a spell... but I can't use it because in all my time playing I've never come across a staff.

I know @Bloodporne mentioned the area, I finally just hit it up tonight and that is still the first staff I've found in like 30 hours of playing the game.

But it's hard to recommend going there because the enemies are hard and you won't be able to TP out unless you find a site of grace.

Also I think the enemies there randomly drop Somber Smithing Stones which is what a lot of people here have been looking for.

I hadn't used a hammer till I came across Chrytalain(sp?) enemies, which take almost no damage from blades. I was shocked how much fun an old brick hammer can be.

About to go at it again, folks! Hopefully I have a good day like yesterday.

You're going to be fine. Just get used to the fact that some bosses will require more tries because of greater challenge, and honestly, just be ok with writing off any runes you have in a legacy dungeon since you can level anywhere.

Also, a rune arc can basically give you like 20 levels in your base stats if you're really feeling underpowered. At this point, im honestly starting to feel overpowered in most places.

Also learned that hoarfrost stomp is completely broken. I basically stopped using it except for the most extreme circumstances. I can galop around an area, get everyone chasing me, get off my horse, target the guy in front, and destroy absolutely everything in a 45 degree arc. Fire Enemies? Even more insane.

I was finally experimenting with Ash of War's, and found the same thing.  Just decimates most regular enemies.  I did try it vs one boss and it did like 550 damage or so, which was okay but not better than a few swings of my weapon.

I ended up taking it off though for now, as I still prefer other things, but it does absolutely wipe groups of enemies way too effectively.
