Hockey rotates players in and out every 30-40 seconds and never forget:

Literally no one cares about hockey.

No one outside of America cares about football so.

Soccer players are the best athletes because they run 50 miles in 90 minutes.

Keyword is run. That's all they do 90% of the time. Go watch 6'9 men run, jump, defensive slide, dunk, layup, pass, jump ball, screen, etc. They are not human.

Run, jump, slide for 90 minutes. Yeah 6'9" men do pass (with their hands) and dunk but they don't do it for longer than 8 minutes at a time.

Also kind of like SimpleG said, Rugby players too  (but I didn't want it to go to @gamer.tv's head ) since it is like football and soccer combined.

They may not be the most in shape athletes but baseball players are the most gifted by far. Hitting a baseball is the most difficult thing to do in sports.

Hitting a baseball off a MLB quality pitcher, sure. Just the same as you trying to defend a NBA basketball player or tackle an NFL running back. Not a chance in hell.

The difference is many baseball players can compete against other pros in football or in the NBA but players from those sports don't always translate well into baseball. I'm not saying that baseball is the most athletic sport cuz it isn't but it's the hardest to be a pro at.

What primarily baseball players transitioned into other pro sports? Bo Jackson played NFL first, Deion Sanders prioritized football, Jordan well…

John Elway, Patrick Mahomes and this guy named Tom Brady all got drafted in the MLB but decided to go with football.

I don't think you will find anyone in any sport that can match the level of power and speed of an NFL player, except gymnasts.

That's the thing, though, it kind of depends how you define athleticism. track and field athletes are amazing, but their abilities are very narrowly focused.

Noticing a lack of dancers mentioned. For all the fey implications, prospective pro ballet dancers do grade six to 12 with four hours of basically gym five days a week. 10 on Saturdays. Sunday is cheat day. Seriously name any number of horror institutions for children, and I'll point out that a top 10 ballet school is a post-college budget equivalent solution to barely see your child, if ever.

The version of sumo from your eugenic society don't impress me much:

Pretty funny to think that her ex-husband indoctrinated her to a cult to keep her pliant, and I don't think the story made it past the first day.

Seems a bit stupid comparing athletes from one sport, to another, as though they all follow the same type of training programming.

But seeing as how each sport has specificity principles applied to resistance training/conditioning as well as the sport-specific training/practice, it seems myopic to try to compare one to another, especially considering the fact that a number of athletes have performed well in multiple sports at the professional level, and it isn't terribly uncommon to see some degree of crossover at lower levels.

Specificity is the game. But which specificity. How long is the average NFL career compared to NBA, MLB, NHL, etc.?
