On the other hand, I wouldn't really want Jan 6th supporters protecting me either, and it's not hard to imagine the secret service skewing right. Also, I am a bit sympathetic about fixing this. You don't want to be Trumpian and have some kind of ideological purity test for what is a non-political agency.
