I felt lucky that the UK has schools ‘open’ across all the UL lockdowns and as a teacher, I was in school for the majority (and when I wasn’t we had to deliver videos and content of learning - not remote face to face) which was more sustainable. Now everything is back to normal and it continues to be a great job.

Halfway through a stretch of working 11 nights in a row, ama

I can’t speak for the US, but in the UK you only need to have two days off within 14 days and shifts have to be more than 11 hours apart. -
General Gaming What do you want to see at E3 2021?
gamer.tv replied to Remarkableriots's topic in The Spawn Point
Everything Nintendo has teased but not shown. As always as well, a new F Zero, Excitebike, 1080 Snowboarding, Eternal Darkness... -
I actually have a spare bible I like to finish on. To answer your question, probably, if not definitely, you’re now hellbound, so you might as well buy your own wanking bible and join my revolution.

Sony The Last of Us Part II performance patch releases TODAY
gamer.tv replied to SaysWho?'s topic in The Spawn Point
I really enjoyed (of that’s the right word) playing The Last of Us: Part 2, but I have no interest in playing it again. Kind of how I feel about The Revenant. One and done. -
Books What Are You Reading or Listening To?
gamer.tv replied to rc0101's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
Still reading War and Peace. 200 pages or so in (but with the thin paper, tiny writing and minuscule margins makes it feel like I’ve read 400 pages). So far, it’s really good and a fantastic historical fiction, though unlike all other ‘similar’ books - avoids any grim description of the nastiness of war - at least so far. -
Will test with mine tomorrow.

Mobile How has there not been a Pokemon TCG on iOS or Android yet?
gamer.tv replied to gamer.tv's topic in The Spawn Point
That definitely tracks with my iPhone ownership for the last few years and lack of Android knowledge. -
Mine hasn’t been calculated yet (the government website says between June and October). The waiting continues.

Well...fuck. -
Enjoyed a nice 4.2 mile run home. One killer hill near the start and a nice finish through a local park. I’ve decided I do want a gym membership to build up my strength so I’ll be sorting that on pay day. I’m hoping to literally go for a weight session before work (and the baby wakes up) for literally 30 minutes and add in runs home if I’m on public transport. See if I can manage that.

I like (not love) Metroid, but the content of this thread has angered me.

I’ll begin this by saying that I appreciate that Nintendo (and affiliates) make a stupid amount of money from the physical game. It does seem though a basic game, limited cards and a stupid amount of items to pay for would be a match made in heaven. This has all come around in my head as I have started to get a bit obsessed with the idea of playing some kind of card game and also D&D (sparked by listening to Dungeons & Daddies).

A crime has been committed and I demand justice!

I’m trying to think of there’s any decent frozen pizzas in the UK. I tend to get the ‘fresh’ ones and even then, it’s only the fancy shops that make a good show of it. -
The nose assumes it’s all the time though, so really it’s which is worse - a potential load of Covid or a constant, small stream of it.

I need to have a clear out and sort of the games in our house - but after discussion I traded in a Wii U Pro Controller and Breath of the Wild (Wii U) for BotW on the Switch. Both my wife and I wanted to play it again, but no chance we’re setting the Wii U up. In fact, I’ll put it back k in its box and put some plastic on it and attic it - it’s the Wind Walker version so chances are will be worth a bomb in 5 years. -
I have such fond memories of all three ME games (like most, in particular the first two) - but I don’t know if they’re games I would want to go back to now. Obviously I’ll now end up buying them over the summer and love them.

Of all things, Pokemon Soul Silver. I’ve been reading about Sword and Shield and for no real reason, want them. That’s not happening as I have a load of games to play, so picking Soul Silver back up kills the urge. I’m in some psychic, burned city place. Update: I now have the fog badge and an overwhelming desire to have a fantastic 6 Pokemon line up despite the fact I know nothing about Pokemon strategy. At the moment I have: Croconaw Raticate Machop Vulpix Flaafy Pidgeotto I think I’m going to bump Flaafy for Magnemite and hopefully get a less rubbish fire type and something more interesting than Raticate/Machop as they’re just boring looking. -
That's very kind of you to say. It helps that I love about 90% of the things that I do. It means I'm happy - but at the moment use always very tired.

I love my job (teaching children) - but it can be mentally exhausting dealing with everything outside of the classroom at times. I’d never say it grinds be down, at least not yet - but it would be nice to only have to deal with teaching children and nothing else.
