  1. Dad and his parents are English. My mum and Nan is Manx, but my mums dad was originally from Ireland. Based on that and history, I should hate myself in a number of ways.
  2. Dear me I could go for having a 3DS again just to play the Zelda games and Samus Returns. But that would be silly...
  3. Finished Orchestra of Minorities and really enjoyed it. An interesting story with plenty of bitter elements added as well. I’m now going to start The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman.
  4. I can remember a lot of instances at school of 13/14 year olds going out with, and sleeping with people 2-3 years older. One of those things that at the time I found odd, but now find deeply strange that it was so common.
  5. Played more Control this morning and will fire it up again this evening. I love everything bar the way the game is structured - but that’s not enough to spoil it. Update: finished Threshold - which was fun.
  6. Can anyone actually name a console shooter pre-360/PS3 era that doesn’t feel clunky to play? I’d love to say Timesplitters 2, but my heart tells me it wouldn’t be as silky smooth as amazing as I remember.
  7. It’s great and reading is always a good thing to do - whatever the text.
  8. So still reading The Orchestra of Minorities which has continued to be great and I’ll finish it off this week. I’m posting as I started to read The Hobbit to my daughter, despite being 6 months old and not having a clue but it making her fall asleep, it’s been really fun to read it out loud with voices. I just fancied sharing my fun!
  9. My heart says Green Party but my reality is Labour Party.
  10. Might pick that up over the summer or winter as my snoozy, better than a nap, afternoon game.
  11. Control is getting better now I can enjoy testing people with rocks, dashing away and the headshot the rest. I kind of want to binge it once we’re at the weekend as it feels like the kind of world to just get lost in. then FF7 after that for a more laid back, so an hour here, do some bits there...
  12. More Undertale - which I’m enjoying and looking forward to possibly finishing next week. More Control which I’m enjoying as well but it currently has that ‘go here so I can help you’ vibe that I’ve hated in so many games. I’m hoping that it’s part of the message behind the game as I’m starting to enjoy the set up - even if nothing still makes much sense outside of evil, possessed people and things need smacking with heavy things and shooting.
  13. This thread makes me want to do my own Predator-Commando double header. To answer, I’d go with The Matrix.
  14. The fact they can’t offer 4K, ray-tracing and 60-120FPS means they have to at some point.
  15. Apart from just having one to play some cross gen games - is there actually a reason to upgrade at the moment? I’d love a PS5, but what would I be buying it for really?
  16. PS4 and it happened again today and the stopped. I’m pretty sure it’s not my controller but I’ll try my other one out to see if that helps. It’s just very annoying when you’re trying to find your bearings and the camera just keeps revolving endlessly and then decides, for no real reason, to stop. Also tried out Undertale - fine so fair and I’m interested to see where it goes, though I still need to finish Told Story off at some point.
  17. I’m playing and enjoying Control (bar the slowdown - but ah well) but one, random thing that’s spoiling the game is the camera will randomly start spinning to the left. I tried shutting down and restarting the game but it carried on. I haven’t restarted the console yet so will see if the issue is gone tomorrow. So far though, combat is good, I have no idea what’s going on - but I’m interested none the less.
  18. Will watch - love these things for when I’m cleaning or working to have in the background.
  19. Unless they are making an actual follow up - who is this console really for?
  20. I write this knowing this will not be an option for many, many years to come. But I do miss that feeling of arranging a free day on a Friday, getting a new game and just playing it relentlessly whilst making terrible food choices. I don’t actually think I’ve indulged in that way since Halo Reach and Gears 3 came out.
  21. Anyone find it hard sometimes to balance getting out running (especially as the fitter I get - the further I’ll run), work, family and then not being endlessly tired. I’m hitting 6pm most days and could go to bed

    I'm sad

I like you @Fizzzzle but oh no, no, no , no.
  23. Some games I do - mostly 2D and 3D platforms which offer that additional challenge mode or competitive online games. Most games though I play on easy just to enjoy the gameplay and the story. I’m well past the need to be good at the games I play and just want the fun aspect of them.
