  1. Pokemon Violet is pretty fun but good lord, I’ve not played an actual ‘big’ game that runs this poorly. I mean, it doesn’t change my enjoyment but this is a game that really must be played on an emulator
  2. I was weighing up which of my Switch RPGs to dip back into. My choices were: Dark Souls - need to restart, too tied in general to replay the 15 hours I’ve put it Witcher 3 - needed to get more t board a ship Persona 4 - I’ve finished a dungeon, vague idea about what I should do Pokémon Violet - just collected the first badge I've opted for Pokémon as I wanted a much more relaxed experience and after 15 minutes, I’ve relearned the controls etc and at the second gym badge. We’ll see if there’s a drop off again…
  3. Apparently when I live is due snow in the second half of February. As lots of the schools that make up our group of schools are rural, and we all tend to either stay open or close, hoping on a sweet, sweet snow day!
  4. As someone that (vaguely) studies construction at university, this is one of my favourite threads.
  5. All this Pokemon chat is me to see if anyone locally was selling a game. Turns out someone about 3 miles from me is selling Let’s Go Pikachu and Animal Crossing. Currently waiting to see if they’ll accept my offer and then I can contribute towards be discourse!
  6. It’ll end up going back to the manufacture to test for the fault and everything else will be chucked - so unlikely
  7. Reviewers should get games so they can put their data towards the metacritic algorithm so people don’t buy a shit show, day one, without being reliably informed.
  8. I thought about it but £200 is a bit steep when I can wangle the same thing with what I have at home.
  9. I’ve been to the game shop twice in the past few weeks and successfully talked myself out of buying something due to my current backlog…which I’ve then done nothing about. So, I’m just going to clear a few gaming things off my plate, namely Witcher 3 on my switch (I think I’m half way through), then I’ll do all the end game stuff on Tears of the Kingdom and polish that off, then Persona 4… I also want to get through a few PS5 games, but lack time in the TV, so I might just try out remote play on my old laptop and see if that’ll be good enough.
  10. Mother fucking GTA Definitive Edition. I’ve played most of GTA 3, all of Vice City and maybe 1/4 of San Andreas on the PS2 and, with 6 coming, really want to give them a go again. I don’t want to play on my phone and the Switch seems the right route…but it’s £45 for three, 20 year old games where the updates are shit. But I can’t see another viable way to play, specially SA, on my PS5 or Switch in a more cost effective way.
  11. So as a body weight exercise, completing a squat so you are on the balls of your feet and your knees extend over your toes. It’s less a muscle building exercise s a way (supposedly) of building strength around the knee and preventing injury…but that was just a few YouTube links and an article of recommendation, so I’ll remain sceptical - outside that doing them feels quite good.
  12. I have both Pokemon Violet and the Witcher 3 in my backlog for just this reason.
  13. Rambling Man - Billy Connolly Shockingly, one of the best comedic storytellers ever has written a well written, funny book.
  14. Outside of things like Superman 64 (where I played the ROM), I think the worst game I ever owned was Shaun White Snowboarding on the 360.
  15. I’ve only watched one season of the Mandalorian and might just go in a binge and watch all of the various tv programmes at some point soon!
  16. So, over the knees squats…fad or something worth investing time into?
  17. Finished Oliver Twist. Dickens has his issues (antisemitism aside) but I enjoyed this quite a lot.
  18. I’ve dipped into God of War Ragnarok and Minish Cap after maybe two weeks of having no leisure time at all. I also need to finish the main story of Tears of the Kingdom so I can pick up a few Switch games.
  19. I won’t lie, this sounds like YouTube content where I’d it comes to pass, I’d watch.
  20. Also builds stronger neural connections so this all day
  21. I mean, this is completely unhelpful, but by living in a country with an too al health service and just getting things for free.
  22. I managed to hurt my shoulder showing off a beginner yoga move to a colleague so…mostly yea.
  23. Pretty much half-way update: Was going well for 10 days. 3 sessions of yoga, on lord body stretch, 10km bike ride, 3 runs - along with usual walking around 6 miles a day. Sadly, I’ve injured my shoulder (I don’t know what it was but initially I couldn’t lift my arm up and now just general pain around my front deltoid), so that’s curbed everything. It’s been about 4 days and I’ve just been walking and it’s been fine, but I’m missing my yoga and running!
