  1. No, I’m really fortunate that my family isn’t very large, but it’s really good.
  2. Hijacking the thread, it’s a crime we don’t have Orange Box remastered on modern consoles.
  3. I was sitting in a school assembly (the context is I’m a teacher) and we have some piano music playing as kids come in, then a piano version of joy stuff came on, played the ‘hot stuff,’ tune and I couldn’t stop laughing thinking about the scene.
  4. I’ve been quite into GBA/GBC recently and wouldn’t mind having a dedicated console for quick gaming sessions…but then I remember that it would be silly and I stop myself!
  5. Into the world of 2024 and whilst I’m not going to blog every single day I may do a monthly update. I’m aiming to be consciously, physically active (so outside of my usual waking commute, general movement) 366 times (the goal is every day, but there will be times when that doesn’t pan out, so I’d rather have the flexibility). I’m also going to measure my weight, chest, and waist at the start of every month and see what happens. I’ll also be adapting or adding something each month to build as a routine, but not all of that will be health and well-being related. Really, I just want to make sure that when I’m 35 this November, I’m half way through my thirties on a good place, not obese and unfit! So yesterday was a 6 mile bike ride and today was 15 minutes of yoga. Probably run tomorrow and then more yoga on Thursday, S&C on Friday then walks and stretching over the weekend.
  6. Based on the last sentence, it’s unremarkableriots
  7. Fire Emblem: Three Houses Metroid Prime Remastered Resident Evil 4 Remake Spiderman: Miles Morales Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Super Mario Wonder The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me Another of those games, another enjoyable, if frustrating experience. They are never amazing, but as a big fan of Until Dawn and The Quarry, it helps fill a void. I think after I’ve traded it in and grabbed Super Mario RPG, I’ll work through GoW: Ragnarok, but I think Alan Wake 2 will be next.
  8. There are three strands to 2024 for us: 1) renovate our house 2) repair works and move house 3) move country, house, job In the immediate, I’d quite like to tidy my house so it’s nice to welcome in 2024! Edit: to add, I’ll be 35 in 2024 so I’m going to follow a bit of a life rebalance. The idea is to make a significant change each month and reflect and see how successful it’s been, or if I need to change anything up. It’s all based around improving my physical health (going into the age when getting fat and lazy is easy) and maintaining my mental health. January: each day, complete either a body weight circuit, a run, stretching routine, or yoga. I’m going to track my weight, chest, and waist measurements all year. Loosely, I’ll probably have at least 3 fitness related monthly targets, 2 based around diet, then a 3 based around social connections, then some about hobbies thrown in there. I’m only planning on making one key chance each month, but then the change be something I keep up with all year.
  9. So many people have been positive about the System Shock remake that you’d think it would appear on more personal top 10s
  10. For a bit of couple’s fun, got back to the Devil in Me. So far, I’ve saved…no one.
  11. I’d like to see a comparison between Odyssey and Galaxy for most relaxing. Just swirling around the worlds in Galaxy felt wonderful.
  12. I think in reality I’ll be picking up all games, but sometimes it’s good to have governance about which to start with.
  13. Vague desires behind each game: Super Mario RPG - I’ve heard good things, I’ve never played it, I don’t mind RPGs and I like Nintendo. Pikmin 4 - Enjoyed the first game on the GV (never beat it), I didn’t play 2, enjoyed the 3rd game (never beat it) and this looks like the best iteration. Bayonetta 3 - I enjoyed the first game, loved the second and kind of want to see how it all pans out…
  14. I’ve been for a few tasting menus and they’re always a lovely experience - though deadly when each course has a pairing wine!
  15. After having it on my Switch for well over a month, I tried out F Zero 99 today and basically Nintendo need to just make a new F Zero game already. It doesn’t need to be big budget, but it just has to happen. Same for Wave Race, same for 1080 Snowboarding, same for Excitebike, same for Pilot Wings…there’s just too many IPs that have not been given justice in the last 15 years.
  16. I stopped reading my previous book as after a chat with a mate, he confirmed that the trilogy I bought was the final trilogy of a series of 14 books, each with their own, various series. So instead I’m reading Oliver Twist and I’m struggling to get past how many times the phrase, ‘the Jew’ is used.
  17. We bought the new TV today, after measuring and checking, we’ve opted for a 43” Samsung that will work beautifully in our lounge. I had to really resist the urge to buy a few new games to test it out..but I may cave with that tomorrow if I end up going shopping. Update: TV has arrived, did a quick check of performance using God of War Ragnarok and it’s noticeably better. A good choice all round.
  18. Super Mario Movie - loved it, I know it’s not A+ amazing, but it’s what I wanted it to be.
  19. I know nothing, but I vaguely feel like you could do Yakuza 0, Like a Dragon, and then the next mainline release and if you fancied, dip into the other remasters as time goes on.
  20. I might have a Chinese takeaway tonight and be disappointed by how rubbish a) English Chinese food is b) how the vegetarian options are somehow even worse
  21. We’ve been down the ‘blockbuster’ route and I’ve been putting a bid in for the Super Mario Movie since about the 20th.
  22. So I’m summary, triangles and maths is the answer?
  23. It’s a shame that DKR hasn’t been brought back with online multiplayer.
