    This game is so fucking epic in the true sense of the word. Stuff like going through Castle Morne, fighting a boss to the sound of crashing waves and whipping rain and then emerging from the castle to call your fucking ghostly goathorse to ride back up the hill you fought your way down earlier, games don't get cooler than this. First Returnal, now this. I'm not gonna recover from this insane GOAT overload.

    Okay well yet another one of these posts but the Sofria River Bed area is without a doubt one of the coolest things I've seen in a videogame. Cresting that hill reminds me of how magical shit like Legend felt when you were a kid.

    I don't know about some of you but bad life events tend to absolutely always happen in winter for me. When I feel winter coming on at this point in my life, I brace myself for a hit.

    I talked to my girlfriend about this last night. How interconnected we are these days and how increasingly helpless it makes us feel vs. back in the day you'd read a disconnected article in the paper or two, see something blurry and 'distant' on TV and that was it. Now you see things like selfies of teens with their Pokemon toys in a bunker "live" from Ukraine and can literally interact with them personally, you feel so connected and extra helpless. I mentioned to her that I think it's good in the way that it makes people way more actively anti-war than I've ever experienced even when still living in Europe with conflicts driving distances anyway.

    War is vile on every level but winter war is certainly especially grim. You look at those images of Ukraine's cities and can taste the post-nuclear-apocalypse in your mouth.

    When you've exhausted the smithing table out in the world, you can upgrade higher given you have the proper materials at the actual blacksmith at the Roundtable.

    I went to bed at 1AM last night on a regular work night because at 9PM I decided "oh just...lemme take a lil look over theeeere :D" So I just realized that I totally forgot to customize my Estus loadouts for Godrick, holy shit. I could've struggled so much less lol. I had it on 3x health and 2x magic.

    Absolutely. That "just one more hit" is my downfall most of the time really. Once I dialed it back on Godrick and just kept my cool, I actually took him down fairly quickly.

    Ah, so it's not a constant overall buff to your character. I thought that's what it was telling me. You activated it, now you reap the rewards.
