Oh man, The Killing… I’ve forgotten a lot of the specifics, but during that first season, it clearly felt like it was going to be a one season deal. Either the show would end, or a second season would be a completely new case. But you get to the end of the season and lol nothing is resolved. Pissed me off so much I didn’t watch any more.

On the easy difficulty, it’s really not a notably hard game. Up until the very end of the game, it felt like a normal action game, not the “hardcore” experience you might be imagining.

I ended up grabbing this thanks to the sale. I’ll be done with my TLOU2 replay in the next day or two, then I’ll be diving in.

I didn’t realize the OG series was back on.

Maybe I’m just a pessimist, but I’m feeling like there’s no way the movie lives up to these teasers.

I get where he’s coming from though. There is a decent percentage of that game that isn’t cutscenes, but you aren’t really doing anything other than moving your character forward while more dialogue happens.

I love most of Kojima’s stuff, and when I call it bullshit, I mean it with nothing but love and affection.

Pokémon was my entire life from 1998-2002. Since then, I’ve only checked back in a couple of times. Haven’t played a mainline game since maybe X/Y.

By far the most upsetting thing depicted so far this season is Danvers listening to static in her earbuds.

I’ve put a couple hours into it. It got much better when I went into the options and turned off the VO and set the music back to the original score. But it’s still a frustrating experience. They didn’t seem to fix basic things like your companions frequently getting stuck in the environment, or sometimes they’ll just stand still to be hit during combat. The menus are somehow worse than the original, the icons that show what weapon/armor each character has equipped are comically small. I have a lot of little complaints like that, but keep in mind the original is a game I played through once a year for a long time and basically have memorized. One clear improvement is that it runs much better. Without the slowdown present in the original, combat is a lot more responsive (and easier). I’ll keep playing it, it’s a good game to dip into for 15-20 minutes at a time between more intense games.

It’s the UPS simulator part I have a problem with. My memory of the gameplay alternates between boredom and frustration.

I need to give Death Stranding another shot. I’m all in on his brand of insanity, I just didn’t enjoy actually playing that game enough to see most of it.

I watched an episode of the new Amazon Original show Expats. In a 53 minute episode, there were two ad breaks. One was a single 30 second ad, the other was 15 seconds. That's... not enough to get me to pay extra, especially since I don't watch that much Prime content. Curious to see if/when/how it gets worse.

And I changed my mind again: there’s no way I’m ever going to make it all the way through a Persona game again after P4G, so I’m not going to bother with either version.

Kinda funny that this is from another State of Play from almost a year and a half ago. This is a good example of why I have a hard time getting excited for these showcases. “Here’s a teaser trailer for a game, maybe it’ll be out in two years?”

I returned a defective Elite 2 controller without a part (I forget exactly what, the charger or something) and I still got refunded no questions asked. They do such insane volume I’m guessing nobody is looking at that shit.

Took a brief detour from TLOU2 and downloaded the remake of Secret of Mana off PS+. It looks like shit, the VO is annoying, I can’t believe I’m going to play through the whole thing.
