Finally got around to this. It was a very pleasant experience! It was nice to have a smaller game I could breeze through over the course of a few play sessions.

I’ll probably wait until June to start my replay, but I’m excited for it. I was trying to think of the last DLC I bought, thinking it’s probably been years. Then I remembered Phantom Liberty - which I haven’t played yet.

Damn, I’m going to have to buy this. The demo sold me.

I wish my internal monologue sounded like Sterling Archer/Bob Belcher.

I don’t know what her schedule was like, but it’s really fun picturing her shooting this and Tár back to back. Looking at her credits, I didn’t realize she was in The House with a Clock in its Walls, so this is weirdly her second Eli Roth movie.

Yeah, that looks like a Borderlands movie.

Surprise surprise, I did not keep coming back to this game. I got maybe like 6 hours in.

The gold/silver generation already got one remake. It would be hilarious if they got another one, especially because that was the last time I was really invested in Pokémon.

I live right outside of that band (Cincinnati), and I already have that day off, so I guess I don’t have a great excuse to not seek it out (other than laziness and being a cynical jerk).

I get that the True Detective name is valuable, but I feel like this season would’ve been more successful if it was completely its own thing. For me, this show was at its worst when it was trying to be True Detective. Take out the references that don’t really add anything, remove the burden of living up to that first season (which even the original creator couldn’t do) and just let it be a moody Alaska mystery. I think people would’ve tuned in to a Jodie Foster-led HBO series called Night Country, but I’m not a TV executive, so what do I know? Overall, I didn’t love it, but it sounds like I enjoyed it a little more than y’all. I liked the unique setting and vibe enough that I’m not especially disappointed with the particulars of the case or how it was solved. I like how the spirit/force that avenged Annie K’s death was actually just the women of the town. Oh, and I think it’s time that we, as a society, take a nice long break from slowed down moody covers of pop songs. That really hit a hit a breaking point with me when the Eagle-Eye Cherry cover dropped at the end of episode 5.

I wasn’t paying super close attention to the story or my choices. I think I fucked up, because is my final boss, which feels wrong. Also, they’re absolutely stomping my ass I think I have a decent strategy now, but I need to take a little break. I’ve been playing all morning.

Nice. Never played that one, but I was feeling in the mood for some Middle Earth action the other day so I downloaded Shadow of War. I loved Shadow of Mordor when it came out, no idea why I skipped the sequel.

I’m not quite at that level, but my rent and general cost of living is low enough that I can get by on my current pay without much worry. Money is a long term concern, not a short term “can I afford to eat this week” one.
