And since Zelda is well received and 30fps (though I play it at 60fps because f that) should we scale everything back too? Get rid of full voice acting, have super low res textures/shadows/ao, get a nice solid dynamic 900p resolution, pretty much get rid of AF, have a nice low lod on everything, use fsr1 to make everything blurry, etc etc. Why not go all the way if it doesn’t matter as long as the graphics are as good as Zelda?

Who cares if it’s how they intend it lol. Devs make mistakes all the time. Swapping between 30fps and 60fps sucks and is going to be constantly jarring if that’s really how it ships. I’ve considered playing this on ps5 at launch but if performance mode is 30fps for exploration I’m waiting that year for pc for sure.

It should work as far as 2D watching assuming it’s like n-real, anything you plug into hdmi works great. For 3D, you’d want to see that confirmed first if that’s a selling point. I know you can watch 3D video through an android phone and through a computer (though I haven’t set this up myself) but some devices the mode won’t even turn on. Like i tried it on Xbox SX and it wouldn’t go in that mode, though I didn’t check to see if it would work if I played a 3D blu ray and then tried. But on other devices even if it’s not 3D content I can enter the mode. And then I don’t know how any of this will apply to rokid. If you have an android phone though I’m pretty sure at the least you’d be able to rip your movies and run them off that.

Also I got dolphin set up for 3D now, have to fidget with the ini more to get the aspect ratio right but I almost got my 3D Mario Galaxy 2 floating in my room. My library for 3ds games on deck is now at 100, a few don’t work, most do. I was playing Rayman 2 3DS which is a solid port actually and has a really strong 3D effect with heavy pop out. It’s actually so rad. There is this part with all these butterflies floating outside of the screen on the first stage before you meet the little overseer guys and it was the most hologram shit I’ve seen. I was super high so it literally was blowing my damn mind these super sharp cartoon butterfly sprites just floating around my bedroom.

lmao - I’ll have to wait until Rev’s impressions to see how legit they are but assuming they are just n-real but better - I can’t see anyone being disappointed with these. As long as you aren’t expecting actual smart glasses like google glass and go into this just for the screen tech, it’s a literal game changer for sure.

Hm I’m thinking maybe I will try a gaming laptop again soon. I went to best buy to see how the sizes look these days and I’m still pretty dead set on a 14” if I get one. I hate clunky laptops, 16” is definitely a no go. I’d get 15” but only if every 14” had a big reason not get it. Besides wanting a smaller size part of the idea would be that I would be using the n-real glasses with it so the screen size is more than fine. If there is a good 14” oled laptop I missed please point me to it! The other things that I don’t like are 16gb of ram, so lame considering the spec here, I don’t mind buying the ram it’s just annoying that I’ll have to open it up, and I rather have a 4080 than a 4090. No big reason for the latter, it’s fine, it’s just I don’t think the extra price is worth it and feel like a 4080 would be more efficient. So what Id like is a 14” 4080 laptop with a high end mobile intel or amd cpu, 1tb or greater nvme, oled hdr 120hz or greater, and 32gb ddr5. This is the closest I found so far but I probably won’t bite for a couple weeks.

Shit though if we are adding some variety and adding arcadey games here then let me add Nba Jam, NBA Street, Blitz (I feel like EA owns this anyway and could license), Wave Race, Pilotwings, SSX Tricky (i’m saying tricky specifically, i want actual courses with the emphasis on wacky fun), San Francisco Rush 2049, Powerstone, Tony Hawk 3, Jet Set Radio, Toejam And Earl, 1080, Excitetruck/bike/whatever, Virtua Fighter, House of the Dead, Saturday Night Slam Masters.

Yeah Hi-fi was phenomenal, we gotta hand MS that one. That came out of nowhere and ended up better than anyone even thought Redfall would be so it’s almost a wash!

I’ve never seen a company capitalize on a competitors blunder with such efficiency as the way Sony just completely wrecked MS before the generation even began on a marketing level.

Even early on I’m confident saying TOTK > BOTW. I’m a huge fan of 2D Zelda and my favorites are probably LTTP, Links Awakening, and Minish. Then OOT. TOTK might beat OOT, we will C. Edit, to be clear, my overall favorite is Link to the past, it’s one of my all time favorite games

This is a weird game. I got it for psvr2, just bought it since I don’t have plus and I don’t want to get it just for a $30 game that I wouldn’t get to keep. Game seems sweet though. I’m sure it’s fun flat screen too but man does it seem like it’s meant for VR. Digging the music. Check this out people if you have a psvr2 and need a new game.

Man I really can’t get over the n-real display quality I hooked up my switch to it and everything looks so much better than when blown up on another tv. It like looks better than it does on an oled switch undocked, like it’s that iq just really big. Whereas normally on a 65” tv even switch looks rough stretched out. The effect kind of varies per game, the really rough stuff like ports like DQ11s and Zelda are still not the best IQ, especially ToLK because the aliasing is still so bad and the fsr and low ish res. But even those at least look a lot better and it makes it a little more acceptable when it’s such a huge screen. Stuff like Mario Sunshine, Cruisin Blast, Mario vs Rabbids 2, and the new Kirby look amazing. I think for 2d and sdr gaming this might just be about the second best screen you could game on and the second one likely is the rokid max pro. Great for playing remote play style at home on the other consoles too, definitely will be playing a lot of Spider-man 2 on these (unless I cave and get the rokid pro max too lolz). That’s pretty sweet that people can grab that kind of quality for just $380 now. I mean my tv is a 65” G2 and I’m blown away by the image quality here.

That’s what I mean though, she looks damn good for 81! I actually looked after I made the remark and hadn’t realized she was THAT old, I give her even more props now. The majority of us are going to be bags of lumpy potatoes by the time we are 81 or in the dirt. Most won’t be able to even afford to look that good at that age even if we want to put in the work and are lucky enough to live that long.
