Nokra replied to CitizenVectron's topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
Ugh, that's awful, I'm sorry to hear that. As awful as it no doubt was to witness, and at the risk of "bright-siding" it: I guess it's better than her being alone for that. Terrible no matter what, though. Wishing her, you, and your family healing in the days and weeks ahead. -
Yeah I'm still cautiously optimistic. It won't be a game I'll pick up at launch for full price, but once it hits a low price on a Steam sale, I'm in.

Will be very curious to hear what you think of the book once you've given it some attention! -
Yeah I don't think it's entirely accurate or descriptive to call it a "sleep" issue so much as a "display" or "battery issue". It needlessly uses the battery to keep the display on while idle and downloading and, as stepee points out, with the OLED version it also potentially risks burn-in (depending on whatever mitigation techniques they've included, though I'm not familiar with this on the SD). I wonder if the release of the OLED version might actually usher in some changes to how the SD handles downloads, given these concerns.

Television Family Guy is moving to Wednesday nights.
Nokra replied to CastletonSnob's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
Yeah of the few episodes I've seen of the more recent seasons, it still makes me laugh sometimes. I'm generally a fan of the style: make as many silly jokes as you can in about 20 minutes. -
Nice, dude, congrats! Fairly recently upgraded to an OLED myself (LG G3) and it's a huge step up. You're going to love it! Maybe you've already done this with your older TV, but personally I was blown away when I hooked up my gaming desktop PC to the TV and played in 4K. Excited to hear your impressions!

Again not to hijack gamer's thread, but... all of the Colombians I know get kinda pissed when you write "Columbian", so... just FYI.

@stepee Yeah Global Entry is the shit. It costs $100 for five years or something. To expand a bit on what @Brian was saying: The government does some background checks on you (and you do a short, easy interview) to make sure you're not a national security threat, and once approved, you get speedier entry into the country from abroad. In addition to speedier entry from abroad though, you also get a "known traveler number" which you can enter in when buying domestic flights, and it pretty much guarantees you'll be TSA Pre, again meaning shorter lines, not having to take off your shoes or pull out your electronics, etc.

@DarkStar189 I have the 4TB WD SN850X (currently $230 from Amazon) and this heatsink. You'll want to just double-check (either in Amazon reviews/questions or in the official specs) that whatever heatsink you buy can fit inside the PS5 compartment, as apparently some are too large or otherwise have the wrong dimensions.
