  1. He gave advice to the Clone Wars crew to make a Jar Jar episode and as a result we got that awful season 1 episode where Jar Jar stumbles around and the separatists think he's a jedi master. As far as I can remember that was the worst episode of the entire series.
  2. I wasn't responding to your reference, when Jason said he meant Discovery. I initially skipped over the comment because it says Defiant and only later realized that he meant Discovery and has seen the short episode I was referring to.
  3. Initially I didn't get your post and my response was initially to say I'm not sure what you mean and summarize what I was trying to say in my last post but then I looked at your previous post more closely and I think I understand what you're saying. Maybe you shouldn't have made fun of Chairslinger's spelling. Discovery is spelled D-i-s-c-o-v-e-r-y not D-e-f-i-a-n-t With that little correction I think I understand your response. I had forgot the name of the short but seeing the wrong ship name certainly didn't help my memory.
  4. Did you guys not watch the short episode where Discovery is parked somewhere in the future with no crew and has become self-aware? Presumably the sphere data is why it became self-aware. While Discovery will eventually end up in the future it won't necessarily be because of time travel since in the short it had been parked for a long time. The plan in the next episode could fail or if it succeeds they could go back and forth through time. If the short is supposed to represent the result of the season (or start of next season if they do a cliff-hanger) then they'll need a new Discovery (it'd be weird to have the series called Discovery if they all just go to a new ship or the Enterprise) but if it refers to events after the eventual end of the series the could end up any with the same ship next season. Don't they have 2 more signals to find? If they do succeed in going to the future I'd imagine they'll set up the remaining signals for the Enterprise to find and maybe the last one is to set up for the crew getting back to their time.
  5. Finished Mega Man X5, will probably start X6 tomorrow.
  6. I don't know, it says "no Biggie" so it seems you got rejected. Rather it seems she's obsessed with @kittykat though I'm surprised Andrea would hire somebody to rescue her sister.
  7. $0 unless you count the cost of shaving gel. My scalp is less sensitive than my face so I use the old blades for my scalp so it's not costing me more for blades.
  8. Staff saber and original saber are not mutually exclusive. Just have her build the original into a new staff saber.
  9. It's not as convenient but you can use the free web versions through hotmail/outlook.com (probably also other Microsoft webmail domains and even partners that use Microsoft's webmail for their email service) if all you want is to occasionally use word and excel files (powerpoint and some other stuff is available too). You can do the same with Google Sheets and Docs if you have gmail and not an outlook account. With gmail you can conveniently store your files in your Google drive and outlook.com defaults to OneDrive but you can also use Dropbox. If you have a hotmail/outlook account or other account that uses hotmail/outlook click on the icon at the top left of the window to access the apps.
  10. Yeah. I wasn't expecting the post-game content to almost be a whole new game in itself, though as a result, what often seems like a pointless chore was actually very enjoyable.
  11. My sister and I did a marathon of DKC 1, 2 & 3 then Super Mario World and then we started SMB3 but she lost interest on world 6. Now that I'm done DQXI I think I'll finish it. I've finished the original NES and Super Mario Allstars version but we got the GBA on Wii U VC so it'll be my first time finishing that version. Finished Super Mario Advance 4 (GBA version of SMB3).
  12. While it isn't CGI to better CGI, Star Trek TOS redid the original effects with CGI. Don't forget that one of the changes to Star Wars was changing Anakin's force ghost in RotJ.
  13. Only when necessary, I'm not running Windows 9x. Last time was still on Windows 7 when I switched from Windows on HDD with an SSD cache drive to Windows on SSD. The Windows 10 upgrade didn't involve formatting but it was a nice refresh. I have added more SSD space twice over the years so I did format the new drives but my OS drive hasn't been formatted in many years.
  14. I'll have some from time to time. I used to drink a lot more (3 or 4 cans a day, largest size when with fast food in my teens and early 20s, then a can or 500-600ml bottle per day later on) and then cut back to almost never but I didn't really notice any difference when I cut back. So now I mostly avoid it but don't worry about it on the occasions I do indulge. Back when I was going through lots of cans I'd fill up bags and after a few months my room mate at the time and I would return them to subsidize going out for Chinese. Something to keep in mind about fruit juice, while it does have the advantage of containing vitamins, even unsweetened fruit juice often has more sugar than the equivalent volume of Coke.
  15. Regular stuff won't be affected within the network. Regular stuff over the VPN will be encrypted but check whatever encryption you use to make sure it isn't obsolete. Keep your software updated, use a good password for VPN access and don't worry about it. You'll technically be at greater risk but if you take those precautions it's not worth worrying about. Do keep an eye out for news about zero day vulnerabilities for your software. If something comes up consider temporarily disabling the VPN until it gets patched.
  16. Only open ports as needed and keep whatever uses those ports updated, other than that don't worry too much about it. It's not so much the open ports that's the issue, it's what's listening on the open port. There's some risk just in using the internet but the more internet facing servers you're running the greater the chance that one of them has an unpatched vulnerability that can be exploited. So running a webserver that you don't bother installing security updates for with a no longer supported version of Wordpress or Joomla would be a bad idea. If the router is a decent firewall it'll protect better but some filtering features can potentially slow your internet down. I wouldn't expect a consumer router to have anything like that though. Basically keep everything patched and make sure you have the latest firmware for the router (keep an eye open for any news about vulnerabilities for that brand of router). Use a good password for the VPN and consider changing it periodically. If you decide you no longer need it (whether permanently or if you know you definitely won't use it for say a month), disable the VPN and any servers you're no longer using.
  17. Do you just want the VPN for remote access? If that is the case it's not that complicated if you have a router with VPN support. You'll want a static IP or dynamic DNS if you don't already have one of them.
  18. Finished the main quest of Dragon Quest XI and got started on the post game.
  19. It's worse in Canada since it's on Space, so it's on right after DS9 and they show commercials mentioning that they show all the old Treks. So is it just a commercial, is there no new episode this week so they're showing The Cage instead? It didn't help that I was distracted while it played, but then it was back to Discovery.
  20. For SNES and Genesis check out the 16-Bit Gems series on Youtube.
