  1. XII is the one with the Gambit system that mostly plays itself. I beat the ultimate optional super boss in the game yesterday (took over 2 hours but the best times are around 50 minutes) and during that time I had supper and did other things. Occasionally I had to pick up the controller to switch the party leader since it auto-pauses if the leader is dead and the other characters don't revive the leader fast enough and towards the end of the fight I had to get more involved as the boss got faster and stronger.
  2. Took almost 2 1/2 hours even with 4x speed to beat Yiazmat and around 8 million Gil (items so that magic uses Gil instead of MP and Gil Toss) with my magic focused strat but it got the job done. Just have trial mode and the final dungeon left. At the beginning it basically played itself with gambits so I had supper while the fight was going on but the last 7-8 million out of 50 million + was trickier.
  3. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I didn't know about it when I played the original PS2 version. I only found out about it this time because I had a list of single use loot for the Bazaar and one of the items on it was the final prize for the fishing minigame.
  4. Final Fantasy XII has a fishing minigame where you need to input button sequences as the prompts scroll across the screen (up, down, left or right) before they make it across without making any mistakes, six times in a row plus a bonus sequence if you get the first six. You need to repeat it a bunch of times for different fishing spots and fetch some other stuff. The five rounds for the first area were easy but after that it got tougher. The end prize is an item needed for the ultimate sword. Since other requirements for the sword involve beating the ultimate optional boss it's not really needed but it might come in handy for Trial Mode. Anyway the minigame is a bit absurd seeing as you are not doing the fishing yourself, somebody else is holding a bamboo pole with no line or hook on it and you input the buttons to tell him what to reel in. In FFX-2 HD's button sequence minigames I was able to hit ESC to pause the game but that doesn't work in the minigame in FFXII. So I tried something that didn't work in FFX-2 HD but did work in FFXII HD. I increase the resolution from 1080p to 4K. Where as FFX-2 worked fine in 4K, FFXII slowed my poor old GTX 680 down to a crawl giving me lots of time to input the sequences and also making the minigame require a lot of patience like real fishing. After a while it got even slower (like less than a frame per second slow) so I lowered the AA a bit to improve performance but still keep it slow enough to have enough time to input the sequences correctly and finished the rest of the rounds. The menu worked fine in 4K so switching back to 1080p to run and save was easy though changing resolution can be a bit glitchy so it might switch to windowed mode with a weird resolution. The minigame is apparently the bane of many people but all you need to succeed is the PC version of the game, a 4K capable display, and a PC capable of running the game in 4K but very poorly. I'm hoping to upgrade my video card soon but the old card came in handy for this stupid minigame.
  5. They should update it with smaller discounts and darken the background so that it fits modern Steam sales better.
  6. Probably going to start Mega Man 5 tonight and then back to FFXII on the weekend.
  7. Were you ChainsawLeon? ChainsawLeon also has a May 10, 2016 last seen date.
  8. It says I was last seen in April 5th, 2016 so we probably had a TF2uesday then (I think I reinstalled it just for that one time). May 10, 2016 was also a Tuesday but everybody else seems to be last seen April 5th or earlier. Shappy and Pretzel for example were both last seen April 5 like I was. I don't think I ever noticed that @Derek had a capital Y at the end (ShappY) until now.
  9. According to GameTracker you were first seen 11 years ago today (presumably during the beta since it didn't release until the 10th) and last seen May 10, 2016.
  10. TF2 will be 11 years old next Wednesday. Do you remember when was the last time you used your server?
  11. My father was trying to find it for a long time. I'm not sure if he ever got to try it but he got some Jim Beam Vanilla which I tried a sip. It wasn't bad but I'm not a big fan of flavored stuff either except for the occasional cream liquor (ice cream, milk and cream liquor = prepare to pack on the pounds).
  12. I was never really a fan of sports games but some sports games are more serious than others. Most fans of sports games preferred EA's NHL 9x series to Nintendo's NHL Stanley Cup but I personally like NHL Stanley Cup. True, the game is broken (there's an easy scoring method) but the mode 7 view lets you see where you are going whereas the top down view of pre-3D EA games limits what you can see. In any case it's worth asking yourself whether or not you want a serious sports game or just something to have fun with. If you like soccer, do you want FIFA or Mega Man Soccer? If you're looking for good games beyond the more popular ones like Chrono Trigger, DKC, ALttP and Super Metroid, check out the 16 bit Gems series on Youtube. Not all the entries are SNES games but there are some good games in the list and you'll get a bit of a history lesson.
  13. Give the seal a sharktopus to slap them with.
  14. Some of that is other controllers counting as Xbox 360 controllers. I didn't know that Steam has supported the DS4 for about 2 years and even can display the correct button icons. I use Input Mapper with my DS4 and mentally translate the Xbox 360 button prompts.
  15. Finished Mega Man X2, planning to start FFXII remaster tomorrow.
  16. I'm not a big fan of Crown Royal but I prefer this to regular Crown Royal.
  17. I prefer the razor approach to preventing headset hair. The downside is that after using my Sennheiser 598s for an extended period of time I have little rectangles on the top of my head for a while after.
  18. While I haven't used a vertical mouse, I find the different wrist position when holding a Wacom stylus very helpful so I am intrigued by vertical mice. I recently saw something about a new Logitech wireless gaming mouse that is low lag, I think this is it: https://news.logitech.com/press-release/gaming/new-logitech-g-pro-wireless-gaming-mouse-proven-winner Also, trying to play Starcraft with the double click on my old G500 is why I got the G502.
