  1. Hahaha, OMG. I hope you finished it. Literally the whole video is copy-pasta from the article. Everything is in the same order, the same odd phrases are used ("attack, attack attack!"), and he doesn't even add any new information to his video. Aside from his resume, this is the most convincing evidence. It's not just a few lines or paragraphs like the other examples, and to be honest we can all overlook technical descriptions about the games because there is only one way to say if a game is running at 60 fps, but this example is scary accurate.
  2. You can simply tell from the tone of his voice that he is an ungenuine little fuck.
  3. Yeah, I'm definitely cancelling because there are no e-ticketing theaters near me so the service is practically useless.
  4. Well I wasn't expecting those results, but then again I didn't know half of the cores of the 2990WX weren't directly connected to a memory controller.
  5. A vanilla 1050 is fine. Or if you can find an older gen, second-hand card roughly equivalent to the 1050, that will also work: 960, 950, 750, or 660 Ti. Anything faster would be a waste, IMO. But, to answer your question, the best bang for the buck Nvidia GPU is the GTX 1060.
  6. That looks pretty good. You could save a few bucks by getting the 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD, which is almost as fast as the Evo. In the real world, you wouldn't notice the difference.
  7. A simple drop in upgrade to an i7 2600 or 3770 would probably solve you stuttering problems. With today's games now taxing more than 4 cores, the hyperthreading makes a huge difference in performance consistency. I was in the same boat as you a few years ago. I had a 2500k, but I upgraded to a 3770k and noticed my games ran a lot smoother even on a 560 Ti, which is a lot slower than your 970. On the flip side, a total system upgrade would do you wonders as well - faster SSD, 6 or 8 core processor, and a new video card. You would definitely be spending all of that $1000 budget to get what I would feel is a worthwhile investment, but with a more modern processor than an old i7 you will at least not have to worry about the CPU bottlenecking your system. Old i7 processors are really the minimum requirement if you want a smooth gaming experience today, which means in the short future they will not be adequate. Nvidia is set to release new video cards within a few months, so it would be wise to hold out on a video card purchase until that happens. You would want to upgrade to at least a GTX 1070, coming from a 970, and currently those go for about $400. So there's half your budget on just the video card, but video card prices have also been dropping on currently released cards recently, because bitcoin mining has made them expensive the last few years and now the mining craze has died down. Perhaps Nvidia will release a $300-350 card that will offer GTX 1070-like performance. We can only hope. I've noticed SSD prices have also been dropping too. If you wanted to buy something today, with today's prices, I would recommend something like the following. I'm leaving a little room under your budget in case you need to buy Windows 10, but you'll be reusing everything else from your current PC: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 1800X 3.6GHz 8-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Newegg) ****CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock - X470 Master SLI/AC ATX AM4 Motherboard ($139.99 @ Newegg Business) Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($149.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition Video Card ($379.99 @ Newegg) Total: $939.95 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-08-10 14:05 EDT-0400 ****You can get the Cooler Master Hyper 212 AM4 upgrade kit (ebay, Microcenter, wherever), then you can use your current Hyper 212+ cooler.
  8. I'll hold onto Moviepass at $10/mo. I find myself too busy to go more often than twice a month anyway.
  9. Never have I ever said, nor will I ever utter, "ness" or "sness" in my fucking life.
  10. I rewatched the first after watching the second and I enjoy the humor of the first more. It's more my style.
  11. SNES games work very well. It's pretty straightforward to set up using whatever guide you want. My advice is to not go cheap on SNES controllers. I bought a 2-pack of the cheapest ones I could find, and they are so flimsy. The buttons aren't as responsive either, and if you're not careful the cord can be pulled out.
  12. Jon Kent's death bothers me the most, but it's not the scene itself that's the problem. I choke up and get emotional at that scene; it's pretty powerful. The problem is the movie was leading us to experience Clark's personal journey to finally making up his own mind to become Superman, and subsequently show himself to the world. But we never get to see that decision - we never get to see Clark rationalize why Jon's reasoning has become wrong - because Zod just shows up. And while I like Zod's arrival scene, it undermines the journey we were on at that point in the movie. It doesn't matter why Clark thinks his Earth father is wrong - a question the movie was throwing at our faces for the first hour - because Clark's thoughts about that are irrelevant now. Zod is here, Zod has announced, who the fuck cares if Clark thinks Earth is ready or not?
  13. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. A-list has nice features, but that's an extra $5 when I find myself only going to 1 movie per month. At that rate, I might as well not be a subscription customer, because tickets only cost $10.
  14. I've got almost another month before Moviepass bills me again so I'll probably wait until the last second before deciding if I should cancel or not. On average I only see 1 (unique) movie per month. The thing I liked about Moviepass though - before they changed the policy - was being able to see movies I really liked twice. I saw Thor, Star Wars, and Black Panther twice.
  15. Every game is different, too, so there could always be that one game that really loves RAM speed. Fallout 4 is a good example. So while it doesn't make sense to spend $100 for the fastest RAM, I do think it makes sense to spend $10 for the middle of the road RAM speed. Always stay away from the slow RAM.
  16. I think the real problem is that this is a tradeoff that shouldn't have to be made. Intel should be offering i7's with 8c/16t at a similar value as old 6c/12t processors. This is called progress; this is what you get when you innovate in the chip industry. When a new, more efficient design comes out and/or you have a new, smaller process node, you get more for your money. But what they are now doing is shifting the pricing tier up by calling the 8c/16t processors an i9 and charging more money for it. And yeah, Hyperthreading has made a huge difference on four core processors, since games have started using more than four cores. HT is also very helpful for multitasking, rendering, and encoding.
  17. 3200 is fine. Don't go lower than 3000. The M.2 slot might be on the back of the motherboard.
  18. If you don't have terrible credit you should be able to sign up for one of Amazon's credit cards. I signed up for 3 new ones during Prime Day, because they had a $70 sign up bonus - no strings attached!
  19. Well, the earliest game I can remember playing was Pac-man on an arcade cabinet at my local laundromat. But it really all started with the NES, which my parents bought for my brother and I one Christmas. Duckhunt, Super Mario Bros, and The Legend of Zelda captivated me, although my mom liked to play those games too. I would watch her play Zelda, and then I would try to do it on my own. I really couldn't. She was pretty into that game. She drew her own maps for dungeons as she made her way through the game. When I was in college, I got the urge to replay the original LoZ, and I dug up her old maps and took advantage of them.
  20. Shazam could be fun, but it's really close to the cheesy/Youtube movie look and feel. Or maybe the contrast of how the kid as a kid is more mature than the kid as Shazam. I really don't like Shazam's voice inflections; he's way over acting. I'm digging Aquaman so far, but I can't tell how good or bad this movie will be based on the trailer. Black Manta looked really badass though.

  22. Well, at least dropping "teen" from the title is appropriate for this gory mess.
