  1. Like absolute fucking shit. It, no joke would go single digits relatively often, and looked worse than a badly compressed, 2009-era Youtube video about half the time. In docked it was okay. Not amazing, but okay. In handheld it was basically unplayable unless you have literally no standards and are maybe a little slow. So by virtue of merely asking this question, I can already tell your standards will be too high to enjoy this game in handheld, because it is easily the worst game on the system for that mode.
  2. Damn, we could've made a counter-offer of $5 to just release it everywhere.
  3. God, all I'm learning in this thread is how bad it must suck to be mikechorney!
  4. Sure there is. Why is it an exclusive? Did Sony pay for the $3 port development?
  5. Shit I think I cracked the code. I was reading in the wrong voice.
  6. Downloaded the Switch demo for my daughter (demos are a great way to "get a game" for a 4-year old without wasting money) and enjoyed it enough to pre-order. I am still kinda bummed about Mighty No. 9, the thought of a faster-paced Mega Man with a dash as a core battle mechanic was neat. I've always kind of hated how slow Mega Man can feel. Hell, I get angry at how sluggish and momentum-addled my Destiny 2 character is. The ability to move and dodge quickly makes games feel so much better to me. I understand that enemy projectiles in Mega Man are generally slow enough to not be an issue, but it has always felt...a little off to me. In any case, I look forward to this, and hope the game offers a significant challenge.
  7. Huh. I got my Seed of Light instantly from my first Tier 2 completion, then after beating the Heroic version I got the offering, turned that in and got my other seed. Weird. But that's Destiny! Every piece of gear is random nonsense and people love that and beg for it, now you get extra RNG to boot, so enjoy! Luckily I barely care about any of that. The actual breadth and width of content finally feels like it's in a good spot, and that's far more important to me than unlocking subclasses. Shit, I haven't even tried to fully unlock any but my first new subclass, and I switched back to my shoulder charge because the superman dive is too unreliable. On the shoulder charge if I fully miss I can try again, but a dive counts as using the melee ability no matter what since it impacts either way. Since my exotic is Insurmountable Skullfort, I can't afford to be down a melee ability too often so shoulder charge it is. That sounds amazing. That's exactly the kind of thing I'm into. I get why some (if not most) folks like to look up how to do everything, but I feel like you're robbing yourself of a ton of fun like that just for the sake of blind progression... and for what? So you can do the raid or the dungeon sooner? Savor things, people! It'll help you last until the next content release and you'll feel far more satisfaction! When you end up going for pure progression you get real grumpy like Grumpy McGrumps up there! And you're all always telling me I'm grumpy, so take it from me!
  8. Dunno if I've just had a good couple of days or what, but I think I'm falling in love with this game. Loving the variety of content and secrets in the Dreaming City, feel like I can explore for hours and find lots of little things, and Gambit is consistently good, solid fun. RNG being tied to progression is meh, but every fucking thing in this game has been tied to RNG since the start, so you should be used to it.
  9. Almost all controller button prompts on PC are Xbox-based anyway, so it wouldn't change anything for me. Holding a Switch pad doesn't make me mentally switch to the Switch's button layout, I go entirely on the prompts themselves. Going between Xbox and Switch has the potential for the most confusion, though. Xbox and PS4 are entirely different concepts, so they're easy to align. Xbox and Switch are the same letters arranged in entirely different manners, to make people mad!
  10. Honestly mostly it's compatibility. If the game works fine with the Switch pad (which every Steam game now does) then it's pretty much gonna be the Switch pad. But for games not on Steam (adding yet another layer of irritation to other launchers) then I use the Elite pad. But also I play multiplayer games with my family, so it comes in handy. I guess I can see why some folks would choose a wired controller, but why not just get a wireless one and just leave it plugged in? Same deal except you can make it wireless whenever you need to.
  11. There was also a little hidden path of invisible platforms that appear when you get close to them, rather than jank-jumping up the statue. The path is longer, but it's a lot less frustrating than slipping and sliding.
  12. Just a Bluetooth adapter to connect it, and Steam, which supports it natively.
  13. I used a PS2 controller to play FFXI on PC back in '03, and it's probably way easier now.
  14. I'm in the Xbox One and Switch Pro department! I use them both very frequently.
  15. I spent many hours on Bridge Crossing in America's Army. Great game. Never even got me slightly interested in the military, but a great game nonetheless!
  16. Keep a brush or comb on your desk...? Or just shake your hair up a bit with your hands? I guess maybe if you had a super cool haircut like I did in 5th grade where you slick your hair back and use a ton of gel so it's hard as a helmet you wouldn't want a dent in the middle.
  17. I was just saying this in Discord, but it's a damned shame that with the advent of cloud saves and the rise of more multiplatform games than ever, we don't see a tide of games that just support cross-platform saves. Done with my PC version? Bam, turn on the Switch and pick up where I left off. Damn, forgot my Switch and I'm visiting family. Log in to my PS4 account on their system and continue the same save from there. It shouldn't be a pipe dream, but it feels like it will be for at least several more years, if we're lucky. You'd think developers would be pushing for this kind of functionality, because it would encourage double, triple, quadruple dipping from many people. Lots of folks already do that, I am not one of them unless the game is "console exclusive" and then has a surprise PC launch in a few years. If this were the norm, though, I could see myself picking up a few bigger titles like this for the Switch, although I don't think I'd want it to be my main version. Luckily, thanks to the GPD Win @stepee so generously sent me (along with some big mofo micro SD cards!) I can already do this and have it portable at 60 FPS, but that's not a realistic solution for... well, I'd say 99.9% of people.
