  1. I'm talking more about the tenor of the discussions, while plenty of people didn't like aspects of TW3, there wasn't anything resembling "controversy" surrounding the game at release.
  2. I'm mostly talking about in the AAAA tier budget/hype sector. A ton of nut blowing games have come out in the last few years, it just seems like the largest and most ambitious projects are repeatedly falling short of expectations. I think with the exception of BotW those games didn't quite reach the level of anticipation as the ones I mentioned, although I don't own a PS4 so wasn't following those games super closely prior to release. God of War definitely blew people away, but from my recollection a lot of people were surprised at how good it ended up being.
  3. It's kind of a bummer that all the massive games that have come out in the last few years have been disappointing to controversial. RDR2, TLOU2, Death Stranding, and now Cyberpunk. I could be forgetting some games, but it feels like the Witcher 3 was actually the last time a huge AAA game released and blew everyone's nuts off. Never once have I looked one of these clowns up and been disappointed.
  4. Yeah, this is obviously a critical issue that should be CDPR's top priority for fixing, but acting like that sequence was put into the game maliciously is laughable.
  5. I'm surprised they managed to attract a good actor for the role.

  7. Man the takes in this thread are depressing. People in the scene have dedicated years of their lives to the game and the community surrounding it, but everyone on the outside wants to latch onto the sexual abuse incidents and cheer Nintendo on for trying to stifle a community that is passionate about their games.
  8. The 360/PS3 era redefined gaming and represented a monumental leap from the previous generation. The PS4/XB1 era refined things but at least within the AAA sphere there was no Halo 3 sized leap forward. That said indie gaming really came into its own in the last generation and the vast majority of my favorite games of the last decade have been indies, so I probably should have voted for PS4/XB1.
  9. Office chairs are 100 times better than race style gaming chairs.
  10. Starting the DLC on Nightmare was a good decision. I hadn't played Eternal on nightmare and it feels a lot less fair than in Doom 2016. There are just waaaaaaay too many projectiles flying around for me to keep track of.
  11. Man, the XSX looks really nice and the convenience of gamepass somehow makes me want one even though I have a good PC and can already do pretty much anything the new console does (can't play my old copy of Fusion Frenzy, but who would want to). I just like the way the box looks.
  12. Those reviews are surprisingly positive based on what I played of the demo. I thought the game seemed super on rails with little room for creative play. The retail product must have considerably expanded the scope.
