Also quests and level designs are very nice and feel completely connected to story. Of course the game has some weaknesses like technical issues, some bugs or Poor Companion AI during challenging fights, but these issues can't stop you from enjoying Greedfall at all. If you are a fan of fantasy Open-World action Rpgs with high amounts of entertaining quests, deep RPG elements and levelling system, great combat and also engaging multi branches story, then Greedfall is a game you should not miss at all.

Kingdom Come Deliverance just hit Game Pass and scratches similar itch. The reviews had to be really good for me to bite.

OK, I played this game for 20+ hours now and I'll say this, it OK. Its not amazing. Its not bad! It doesn't do anything particularly well or different, it just also doesn't suck. Its a balancing act between nothing and something. I had higher hopes for this game, despite knowing it was from Spiders, because of the elongated design and because it was actually their plan to allow for the extended design time. Its honestly a very average game. Wait for a sale.

I will say I think it's a definite step up as an actual video game from their previous efforts! It feels like a "real" game rather than a tech demo, a proof of concept, or some ultra low-budget stuff. Spiders is very slowly getting better with each release, in another decade or so they might be getting us an 85+ game!

To be clear, I'm enjoying the game quite a bit! The combat is pretty simple (I went with magic, anyone who goes with melee in a Eurojank RPG is a madman) but I really enjoy the setting and the story, it's just that the gameplay is pretty basic. Not bad. Just... not exceptional. Which, for a Spiders game, IS exceptional! I do hope they continue to improve. I can see potential greatness in there, but I can't recommend a game like this to anyone, I enjoy it myself, but it lacks that spark.

I've been playing this a lot lately to hopefully purge it from the backlog.

 

I'm enjoying it, but its a weird thing though; its probably one of the most boring/interesting rpg's i've played in a while. Nothing about it is terribly exciting, but i'm liking it.

 

The natives' accent has got to be one of the most awful things i've ever heard though.
