Exactly.

"I'm not getting it exactly how I want it, so I'm gonna bitch and moan."

Bunch of entitled whiners.

Do you even know what the word entitled means? They're not entitled to my money. I am very entitled to demand more bang for my buck. That's how capitalism works, ya dope. If you like it, good for you! Go fuckin' buy it and play it already.

I already said I have no plans to buy it since I own literally every Castlevania game in existence. I don't need it. :peace:

You don't have to buy it if it doesn't suit you. You're just bitching and moaning about a problem that really isn't a problem. You're complaining that you don't get the entire collection of more than two dozen games across over a dozen systems all at once on one collection. That rarely happens with a series of this size, if ever.

A $20 collection consisting of the half a dozen games at the outset of the series is fine for now.

They probably just saw how Capcom did the Mega Man legacy collection (Mega Man 1 - 6 in part one and Mega Man 7 - 10 in part two) then the  Mega Man X legacy collection 1 - 4 and 5 - 8, both 40 dollars each complete collection and said, "that was a popular way to do it and everyone liked it so let's do it too!"

"But Capcom is fucking stupid for not giving me every MegaMan game at once in one collection! Fuck them!"

Well it was dumb. Especially to play all the games you have to launch two different games. After they released both halves they should have made a "complete collection"

I think it was a little overpriced, but eh. The Castlevania collection is half the price at least.

My main gripe with the MM collection is half the games were digital only.

But this is par for the course with nearly every collection containing more than a small handful of games. It's nothing new or controversial.

Well it’s priced the same as the Mega Man collection as the first half of that was $15 and this is presumably the first half of the Castlevania collection :p

The only reason it's not realistic is because gamers love bad deals. Go buy a Seinfeld box set and see how many seasons they randomly pick and choose. Oh, wait, you buy the collection and get the whole collection.

I could understand a cutoff date to keep it to "classics" if they're still actively selling any of the modern games, otherwise it's all just ROMs, and if they want my money, they've gotta offer more.

A series of smaller collections of (COMPLETE) groups of certain games, like the handheld games, the 2D console games, and the 3D games, sure. But on top of that, also include an option for a full collection, like buying a season of a show vs. buying the complete box set.

I agree. It frustrating because the companies don’t ever really seem to have a plan, yet I reward them just the same. I bought the Rondo + SOTN pairing they released just prior to announcing this, and it wouldn’t shock me if they included each in an upcoming new collection.

I mean if they actually did release a full collection I would fucking buy it. Same with something like the Metroid games.

The weirdest thing to me is these companies don’t seem to realize there’s a demand for this stuff. Like Nintendo in particular just holds their stuff back and randomly, it seems, decides, ok give them this game again to buy but only that one.

Konami releases weak product, shocking.

These endless, incomplete piecemeal "collections" are so lame to me. Package the whole shebang for the collective price tag and I'll buy it at $60 or whatever to have it all in one convenient place, until then I'll continue to emulate them for that exact reason.

I still haven't pulled the trigger. Not for reasons others have said of not enough or the games they wanted. I'm fine with the collection. I am still deciding over PlayStation 4 release or Switch release. I like the DS4 more than the Switch Pro for controller. I just know this will show up on a sale on PlayStation. I have my PS4 in the bedroom and living room. I don't really play much in the bedroom. I can see myself waking up on a weekend and playing these in bed. I know I could do the same with the Switch. It is something for me to have these classic NES games not on a Nintendo Console. At the same time nice to have these also on a Nintendo console.

And yet people will buy it and be satisfied. Go figure. Most people don't want to bother with emulation, they just want something convenient to play.  🤷‍♀️

Surely that's 100% the case or otherwise they wouldn't keep releasing these but I'm speaking for myself and not most people.

I would imagine for most customers these are nostalgia-based impulse buys and that's that. These definitely work in that context.

Yeah, people like us(particularly people like me) aren't their target. We're a rather small minority.

It's still a decent deal for only $20.

@Rodimus

Why not get both? The collection is only $20 a pop. Even both at full price is less than a single full-price game.

Also, a thought occurred to me. May I assume you are a “my.nintendo” member? Have you considered using your Gold Coins to discount the Switch download price? Or, as a buddy of mine did; get the game(s) for free using his Gold Coins.

The credit you can build up in that service comes in helpful sometimes...!

Nobody is saying don’t buy or enjoy the collection. The main idea being put out there is that we’ve enabled devs to release these scattershot collections, when it would be a lot better to have a more complete collection put out there.

I’d be ok with how Capcom did it with mega man even. Like give me faith that if I buy this collection you won’t wait 5 years and then release another collection of possibly overlapping games.

Honestly I would probably not really even feel this way if they hadn’t released Requiem. That game is worth it for Rondo alone, but what, is your next collection gonna have like C4 and Rondo and whatever else? Don’t play me like that.

I have thought of why not both. Then this is not the only Konami Collection out there. I want the other two. I know the Arcade Collection is already out and the Contra one is next.  Good call on the gold coins. I don't have many but working looking that up. I really can see it going on sale more likely on PlayStation.
