The leaderboard got shook up hard in Week 17, with several big drops and dramatic falls.  But Kal-El814 manages to stave off the pack for another lap as we go into the final week of the regular season!  With a couple hot on his heels and half the board still in one-week striking distance of the top, will he be able to keep it going in Week 18?

Feature Game: Green Bay Packers (+2.5) @ Minnesota Vikings
The Packers blow the spread out of the water, winning by a score of 35.5(33+2.5)-10.  Bets on Green Bay win.
 

QUESTIONS
 

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Packers TD, Packers FG, Packers safety, Vikings TD, Vikings FG, Vikings safety, or other? ($1200 for the correct call)
A first quarter 34 yard field goal by Green Bay was the start of this rout.  Packers FG is the call.
 

2) Which team in the Feature Game will win the Time of Possession battle? ($1000 for the right team)
Green Bay held the ball for 37:32 to Minnesota's 22:28.  GB gets it.
 

3) Name any player that will have one of the Top 5 longest receptions in Week 17. ($1,000 for any correct player)
Lamb, Nacua, Slayton, Flowers and Allgeier were your top 5 receivers in terms of longest receptions in Week 17.  If you called one you got it.  Keyser_Soze was the only player to call one of these names.
 

4) Ruining their draft position: 8 teams have been eliminated from playoff contention (NE, CAR, TEN, ARI, LAC, WSH, NYJ, NYG).  How many of these teams will win in Week 17? ($1200 for the right guess)
One is the call.  Arizona is the only team on the list who decided to win this week. Biggie was the only player to get this one right.
 

5) Call the winners:
Tennessee at Houston
Las Vegas at Indianapolis
New Orleans at Tampa Bay
($1000 for each correctly named winner, $2,000 bonus if you hit all 3)
Nobody called all 3 to earn the bonus.

DEADLINE FOR WEEK 18 ENTRIES - 1/6/2023 (Saturday) 16:29 EASTERN
THREAD WILL BE LOCKED AT THE DEADLINE SO GET YOUR ENTRIES IN!

 

Week 18 Feature Game
Houston Texans (-1.5) @ Indianapolis Colts
(Remember you are betting against the spread, not just the outright winner)

 

QUESTIONS

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Texans TD, Texans FG, Texans safety, Colts TD, Colts FG, Colts safety, or other? ($1,500 for the correct call)

 

2) How many interceptions, total, will be thrown in the Feature Game? ($1,500 for the right team)

 

3) Name any two teams that combine for OVER 50 points. ($1,000 for any correct combination)

 

4) Pick 6: How many interceptions will be returned for touchdowns in Week 18? ($2,000 for the right number)

 

5) Call the winners:
New York Jets at New England
Seattle at Arizona
Buffalo at Miami
($1000 for each correctly named winner, $2,500 bonus if you hit all 3)

Putting this out there again so there's no excuses next week: The MGT competition runs through the post-season to the end of the Super Bowl!  Almost every season we get someone who gives up, doesn't submit an entry for the first playoffs round, or makes a stupid bet for the last week of the regular season because they "thought this was the last week" or something.  Don't let this be you.  It's clear in the rules and restated several times throughout the season: The MGT isn't over until the clock hits zero at the end of the Super Bowl.

He does.  We've had people start near the end of the season and win.  With a few good weeks of betting and questions he could absolutely pass Kal.  The value of the questions go up every week and several players like to make large bets that don't always work out.  So yeah, it'd take some good amount of luck but it's not out of the question.

Looking at the bets, at least one player will be at $80k next week.  It's getting to the point that someone may have an insurmountable lead if we don't start making stupid bets.

Yeah but those would be strategic stupid bets.  :P  What I was talking about there was players who, thinking it was the final week, thought that they *had* to make a stupid bet for a chance.  Or who were throwing in the towel because they didn't realize there were still 5 weeks to go after this.

Are we doing Pro Bowl bets this year?

I haven't decided.  We usually take a break for Pro-Bowl.  I might do something different.
