I mean, objectively it’s good…but I don’t know if it’s the right game for me. However, it was a somewhat expensive purchase so I don’t just want to sack it off…

According to the in-game log, I’ve played 2 hours of Fire Emblem: Three Houses and I can’t say I really have a clue about anything. I’m sure the next 50 hours will iron out any uncertainties I have.

I’m pretty much always so tired that I have to convince myself to play a game, which I’ll then always enjoy. I just always have the overwhelming sense that I should be doing something different.

As teachers, we get semi-frequent ‘learning walks’. It’s where our school leaders will come in to our lessons to observe our teaching. Today, they lasted all day, which is fairly horrible, and I had two visits in total, each about 20 minutes, to watch me. Our headteacher gave me some very kind feedback and some very clear, particular areas to work on. That’s turned a fine day, nice.

With the news about my Dads dementia, and the general age of my parents, there’s a time in their life I’m quite keen to write about. From 1976 - 1978 they were teachers in Kaduna, Nigeria. Slap bang in that point where the British were hated/loved globally, tech was limited, Africa was a very interesting place to be, and their two years there were incredible. I’m aiming to visit my family at Christmas and I’d like to try and get a strong timeline of events then. Is there a good way to structure it or do I just let them go for it and transcribe and go from there?

I’m still really enjoying this. It does feel like the story is so broad and ambitious, there’s only a micro-progression in each episode for mos story arcs. I also need to know whether the ‘giant’ with the harfoots is an enemy or not, it’s eating me up.

The error message popped up when using my PS4. The controller in question was half the price of RRP, has never worked in games (inputs either don’t work or are reversed on analogue sticks) but operates fine in menus and apps. I know this is a fake controller, I knew it when I saw the box, then really knew when I touched the horrible plastic it’s made from. It’s that bad, the vendor refunded me. The question is, is there a fix, or is this all tied in with some anti-piracy/we hate counterfeit good thing?

Metroid Dread 9/10. A really enjoyable, approachable, but still challenging game. I really enjoyed the final boss encounter, which, by the time of beating, felt easy as I’d learned all of the various attacks and was in that wonderful feeling of ‘flow’. I’m not sure what to play next, either pick up a new Switch game, subscribe to PS+ and work my way through something there or finally set up my ‘games attic’ and play something a bit older…
