  1. you know, what he says is true about less and less games being exclusive to one platform. But that doesnt mean Sony titles on Xbox. PC will be the beneficiary of this. …but even in a future where every MS title and Sony title are also on PC, every Nintendo title will only be on Nintendo platforms.
  2. Are all the teams going to be similar yet legally different from actual NCAA teams?
  3. “every screen is an Xbox” talking about tablets and stuff that isnt an actual Xbox could still mean that if a player is playing an Xbox/Gamepass game on a Playstation the while playing that game its an Xbox.
  4. So youre telling me when Hollywood calculates the cost of overhead to factor into a movie’s budget theyre 100% honest? Like they never say… bill a production for their own movie in their own studio for the use of cameras and equipment that has already been paid for by past productions?
  5. I think there are multiple factors and not every example of a game/studio succumbs to the same factors. I suspect AAA gaming is starting to have Hollywood style of accounting. Ie, the games aren’t really costing that much. They’re saying they cost that much for whatever tax/revenue/bonus/ etc schemes they have cooked up. Not that the game is really cheap to make, but the numbers are inflated a bit compared to generations past or even what an Indy developer might claim a game cost to make. Other factors could be stuff like that unless you’re reusing assets or purchasing assets, high fidelity assets take longer to make. Which has also ballooned the size of staff working on AAA games. Polyphony Digital says it takes them 270 days to model a car for GT7, when in GT1&2 it took 2 hours, and 2 weeks per car for GT3. All that time, money, and that hurts too if and when stuff eventually becomes cut content too. and I think the industry’s need for every game to have an insanely detailed, densely packed, full of action and activity open world for their games isn’t helping. I think making these massive game worlds vs having paired down, more linear level design ends up being much more work. More to have to optimize, more that can break everything especially, more that has to be done so it doesnt seem barren and lifeless and not worth exploring. A lot more factors because you cant control what the player sees, where they can go and when.
  6. probably more than some of their other games, but it’s a cost that’s easy to absorb when you have other titles just printing money. Xenoblade is an interesting case too, because even if it didn’t have the same margins as something like Zelda, they leveraged that team to help realize BotW and TotK. So, money well spent all around.
  7. yeah I read it as him meaning PC when he says other platforms. No way we are approaching some socialistic utopia of console gaming where exclusives from Sony and Xbox dont exist and the games are shared unequivocally. Yeah, for at least 30 years, I dont think theyve ever released a hardware where they were taking a loss on each unit sold.
  8. Yes, thats what I meant to convey. Stewart isnt saying anything he shouldnt and if Democrats and the left just burry their head in the sand and try to act like “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain” then there’s a good chance they could lose to somebody much worse and much more pathological.
  9. Yeah this definitely seems to be the biggest issue many on the left had with Jon’s segment. It’s not that he’s wrong. It’s the opposite and he shouldn’t help feed the right who might ignore everything he said about Trump and clip only the Biden criticisms. Trump is dar worse, but it’s messed up Democrats aren’t crafting a better image of Biden with Biden. Show don’t tell. You know, if he is really sharp as a tack, energetic, and supper in control of the room at all times. And better they hear it now in February than not figure it out until Oct. If Democrats cant handle even this level of truth and feedback from their own political side, theyre going to lose in November.
  10. The 14900KS or the mini-nuclear reactor?
  11. Will that be enough? Those are becoming pretty common and some are already capable of playing Gamepass games. That seems like the kind of thing that would only appeal to long time Xbox customers who have a library of Xbox games digitally already. not that its an awful idea to follow this very well established and growing trend. But unless the output becomes full of undeniable successes that draw people to the echo system it still wont move the needle much. Still just feels like a stop gap. I dont know what the answer is to make the next Xbox a must in the living room/bed room. Even something like VR barely does anything for playstation, with so little support. But if MS had an amazing VR solution that is boxed in, while keeping it $500 and it being comparable in power to the PS6. That could do it, but that’s risking a TON of money at a time MS is seemingly looking for ROI now over market share. Honestly, I think dropping AMD for their GPU supplier for nvidia could be seen as a bigger win for “gamers”. Having DLSS3 or whatever else new vs FSR (3 maybe) would make for Xbox having the better looking and performing games. If the tech is based on whatever will be in the 50XX series or even 60XX series of GPUs, and the price could stay reasonable it could make for quite a console box. MS isnt great at hardware innovation. I dont see them inventing the next big thing in gaming or perfecting a niche thing to become the next big thing, like Nintendo is capable of doing.
  12. I could swear there was a time Italians were pissed that Americans called pizza “Italian”. They wanted nothing to do with it.
  13. I loved the Angelina / Brad movie from years ago. It was a fun action movie. I liked what I saw in the trailer for this show. Looks like it may lean more into the comedy than the action compared to the movie, but that may not be a bad thing. I’ll need to give this a go.
  14. Oh, this is based on a musical? Ok. That makes more sense. When I first saw the trailer I had the same reaction as others like this, like Solo or the latest Willy Wonka movie, “who the fuck asked for this?” One thing that came to mind was ‘why do we keep humanizing characters that were only ever meant to be an allegory for pure evil?’
  15. Ive wondered for a while if getting people to pay extra isn’t the point. It’s more they know that many, if not most won’t opt into the ad-free version. The revenue they stand to make on those still getting ads will be higher than if everyone opted into the ad-free tier. Its probably why Youtube premium is $14-$19 instead of just $4-$7. these companies adding ads to paid services only offer an ad-free version to prevent people from canceling over being forced to sit through ads. probably wont stay that way for long. CBS all access and Paramount+ started off that way and over time added more and longer ad breaks. Breaks getting longer the further into the show you get, upwards of 5 minutes in a single break, and the ads repeat.
  16. So people were expecting something monday and all we get is an invite to a thursday podcast? lol way to get out in front and control the messaging MS. Tells me they need a lot of time to finely polish the message “theres no reason to buy an xbox”. haha
  17. Im still running on the assumption that MS is looking at consoles in the short term. At least for them continuing to have one. They just dont want to say it now. They dont seem bothered that Europe and UK just dont care about Xbox consoles and seem to cars less and less as the years go on. Xbox consoles are just a stop gap until MS can be 100% digital and streaming. Which they likely see being possible in roughly 10 years. they dont want it to seem like theyve abandoned the console yet, but theyre not looking to rise again in the console market like they did in the Xbox 360 days.
  18. No denying the Switch has dine very well. I think consumers want Nintendo to do well and have a good product. So long as they know its a new product. MS on the otherhand isnt making any headway in regards to console marketshare. Gamepass’s value proposition isnt moving the needle much either. So their hardware isnt special and their service feels like a quantity over quality, as though the games are releases expecting to be shit for a year. MS doesnt look to be willing or capable to fix either, and if they dont releasing their games on PS wont make their console division any stronger or more competitive. MS needs to come up with a reason to make Xbox consoles desirable, because right bow the market is telling them theyre not. not matter how much Sony fucks people over or looks like they cant wait to fuck people over, theyve got the good will. If MS really wants to stay in console hardware, they need to find something to turn all this around. I dont think there is any really long term plan for Xbox branded consoles.
  19. they recovered from Cel-da because it was a good game. Recovered from the Wii U with a better idea in the Switch, which also haa really good games, and Wii music wasn’t even a debacle as Nintendo didn’t hinge the company’s entire reputation on this one title after a decade of misses and gamers looking at an uncertain future. Was it questionable to have such a big part of their E3 presentation around it. Sure. Id say the year Pacman Vs was their big show title was a worst E3 by far.
  20. I would figure that would be feature 2 you'd want. Feature 1 being hardware that is substantially more powerful than the current switch.
