There's gonna be a parade in D.C.! UPDATE: Team makes official announcement
Slug replied to Slug's topic in The Locker Room
The NJ Devils roster disagrees. :P -
That sounds bad. Yeah no we do it with full flexibility. "Work where you want". They converted our offices into fully unassigned workspace. Nobody has a private workstation there, nobody has an assigned office. Your day to day, business as usual work can be done anywhere you want. Wanna work from home? Great. Wanna go to the office? Great, just go in and grab an open workspace. You prefer work from home but feel like you haven't gotten out of the house in awhile? Go in, grab an open work space. Teams is still heavily used, but we recognize that some things require face to face meetings or collab so you can book one of the conference rooms in the office for the day if you need. It works out real well. I primarily work from home. And when I do go to the office it's usually not all day. I'll pop over in the morning, take care of some face to face stuff, grab lunch then finish my day at home. I have heard of some teams whose management require them to be in the office some arbitrary number of days. It's fear based. They're afraid. The ones that do that are the out of touch management types that built their career on being seen and reporting metrics on work other people do. They *need* people to be in the office to see them "working" otherwise leadership will start to realize that they don't actually produce anything.

We've moved to a kind of hybrid system here and it's a pretty sweet balance.

Josh Harris is, I'd wager. He's in the ownership group for the Sixers, the NJ Devils, some Soccer Team. He's not a football guy; he's a sports investor guy. -

There are a lot of professional sports teams in that same boat. -

Denver doesn't compare to DC. From a value standpoint DC is one of the top 10 in the NFL. The money it brings in is crazy. DC is one of the 3 biggest media markets in the country. Despite our on-field mediocrity, the team prints money. -

Persona 3 on the Switch. I didn't play it the first go around. Currently in August. -
Other than still being nauseous over how much surgery for a dog costs, I'm doing great.

This is me, but at 6.

Between 5:30 and 6am, weekdays and weekends. I've lost my ability to sleep in. If I go to sleep at 10pm I'm up by 6. If I go to sleep at 2am I'm up by 6. It's frustrating.

Television Is Anybody Watching Night Agent on Netflix?
Slug replied to skillzdadirecta's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
This was just recommended to me by a friend the other day. I'm going to be checking it out real soon. -
OK I just looked it up. I'm pretty sure it's a regular LED. Edit: Wait shit..I can't tell. Apparently there are oled and non oled versions of this TV? Edit 2: OK I pulled the specific model and yes, I did "accidentally" buy an OLED, I think. So now I'm back the conclusion that I just suck at picture settings.
-
I mean yeah I wouldn't have accidentally bought it, but I absolutely wouldn't have paid attention to what I was buying. Being a layperson when it comes to this kind of thing, I'm every salesperson's favorite guy. I'm the one who walks in and just picks whatever looks best on the wall in the showroom then says yes to whatever suggestions the salesperson makes to make me change my mind.

I'mma have to look up to see if my current TV is an OLED. Like I said I may just suck at picture settings.

I know unrelated, but the tech jump in TVs doesn't wow me anymore. I remember being blown away when I first made the jump from an old box projection flat screen to a modern LED TV. Absolutely floored; looking at the TV was like looking through a window. Every upgrade I've made since then has failed to impress. I haven't gotten that "holy shit we HD now" feeling in a long ass time. I bought a new TV a few months ago and it's nice, but the picture's not like, breathtakingly different than my previous TV. Either I suck at picture settings or I need to wait another decade or so before upgrading any TVs.
