    Oh I meant to ask you about this before. Are you using an accessory or something that enhances your magic? Because my magic blasts barely even do chip damage. Even charged. As a result I almost never use them. The only time I magic blast is if I'm too far away for one of my gap closing abilities; I fire as I'm running at an enemy to get in range. That's literally the only time.

    My one big complaint about the combat generally is visibility. Too many of my moves obscure the enemy which makes it a lot harder when fighting a stagger-bar enemy/boss that still does their attacks while getting hit. I get hit a lot during my own moves because I flat out can't see the enemy winding up for an attack. Also @legend the Beszerker Ring is great. It lunges so much further than a regular perfect dodge.

    Some boss fights and B-rank and above hunt targets can be tough. Your normal enemy fights are not difficult.

    I didn't but then I got roped in by their fast traveling.

    Yeah. In big monster/boss fights he can't launch things, so effectively he's just a DoT spell. I just don't want him there. Hell I'd also leave behind Cid/Jill/whoever if I could. I'm the guy that never brings his palico along in Monster Hunter.

    I'd like to minimize assistance in combat. Also he occasionally screws up my combos by launching mother fuckers in the air or across the map.

    I forgot about ability points. I just remembered they were a thing and looked and I have thousands of unspent points.

    I do but more for the vibe than being a fan of specific bands. Like, when I'm running, working out, or doing manual labor I like having it on for the energy of it. But I can't tell you anything about songs or bands or anything.

    I skipped the demo so today is my first look at the game. So far so good. I'm assuming jumping/air attacks become enhanced/better later because right now I don't see the point. Even after buying the double jump ability I can only get one attack off in the air if I'm lucky. I remember zipping around mid-air like a maniac in XV.

    This. We live in one of the safest times in human history, but social media and a 24 hour news cycle has increased awareness of the bad shit that does happen and on a whole has made people more fearful. FWIW I made my kids GTFO of the house and play when they were kids. Their rules were pretty much "be home before dinner" and "don't cross the highway". If only I could get 'em out of the house now....

    Man, Super Mario RPG and a new Mario sidescroller. Other than that, the presentation was a huge wet far for me.

    Just found the last bubbelfrog. Feel dumb because it was in a place I wasn't looking and I spent almost 1 whole day looking everywhere else. Prize is kinda meh. I think I'm finally ready to go beat the game. Trying to 100% everything on my one, first playthrough without looking anything up or watching any media on the game. I've got all the shrines, all the bubbelfrogs, max inventory, and max upgraded the armor set I use. I'm not gonna bother with the koroks because if BoTW is any indication it's a waste of time. I'm still short 3 sages' wills to have all the sages upgraded, but after the days long bubbulfrog hunt I'm not sure if I have enough gas left to find those. So I might beat the game tonight then finally go watch/read all the videos and articles about all the cool shit I missed/didn't know about. :P

    My guys might be dumb then. :P I'm like, "I could really use ability x right now" and my buddy is 20 yards away squaring off with some rando. Like during exploration stuff they tend to stick by me, but during combat my dudes always go all Leroy Jenkins.

    I tend to keep them off until I need them. I don't find them super useful in combat since I can't predict where they'll go.

    Did you ever get your answer on this? If you're talking about the sages, go to your inventory then over to Key Items. You can enable/disable each one individually there.

    I just finished lightning temple. Easily my favorite of the three I've done so far. It felt more puzzly and Zelda dunegon-y than the other two I've done (water & fire) which I felt were way too open. And the boss was fun too. Good shit.

    ^^^ This. I've never been a heavy poster. Outside of The MGT during football season I mostly just lurk and read all the nonsense y'all post, throwing in the occasional comment if I feel it adds something.

    So I just did the Fire Temple and I think I trivialized what looked like a neat puzzle dungeon. They should've set up a way to keep player crafted vehicles out of it. I'm looking at all these rails and switches and 5 floors of figuring shit out to do, and just ended up ruining it all with my airplane in a few minutes. I think I'm going to need to do another playthrough where I don't use any player crafted setups or auto-build for anything that isn't strictly necessary. Because I basically skipped that entire temple and it felt bad.
