I am playing the Xbox 360 version of CV on my Xbox One X. I could never play it on my 360 because it was always really dark, and the in-game video settings are literally "adjust the brightness on your tv" which I'm not going to do because my TV is calibrated. Luckily, since it became back compat on XBO, it's actually playable now, at least for me. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the fact that it's a horrible port. It's actually a port of a port, because it was taken from the PS2 version of the game which was ported from Dreamcast. Since the PS2 was less powerful, it was a downgraded version. The fact that they call it the "HD" version is a joke, because I had the Dreamcast version of the game and I used to play it on a PC CRT monitor via a vga adapter and it looked 10x better back then than this "HD" version does now. That's not rose colored glasses, either. On the CRT I could literally read the text on the back of Claire's jacket, but in this version you can hardly even make out what the emblem looks like. It just had higher resolution textures. I sound salty because it bothers me lol. I hate that the only version to have survived into modern consoles was the shitty port.

I'm in. It kinda reminds me of Tripping the Rift, which I had absolutely completely forgotten existed until I saw this trailer.

The developers that had been making the wrestling games for like the past 50 years decided they were tired of making wrestling games, and instead of 2K being like, "We'll need to find the best people for the job!," they decided to hand the project over to a developer that had zero experience making a wrestling game and told them they only had a year to crank it out. Because 2K.

RE0 REmake RE2 Remake RE3 Remake Now, chronologically speaking, it's time for Code Veronica, and omg the cringe... THE CRIIIIIINGE! I remember this game being cheesy, I played through it a few times back on Dreamcast, but haven't really touched it much since. And holy crap... this game is bad. I mean it's not terrible. The controls are as awful as I remembered, but the acting!! It's just so... bad. It's almost too bad to even be entertaining now. Almost. With all the other games having had remakes, CV is technically now the "oldest" and it really shows its age. I've been dreading this playthrough, not just because of the dated setup, but also because there are no difficulty adjustments. I played through RE0 thru RE2 on Easy because I'd played through them multiple times before and had infinite ammo and stuff unlocked, so it was just for fun. RE3 Remake I played through on Normal because it was my first time playing it. Just beat that one, excellent even if it was pretty short. After I grind through this one, I'll get to carry on with the other Resident Evil games in my library in chronological order.... Resident Evil 4 Resident Evil Revelations Resident Evil 5: Lost in Nightmares Resident Evil 5 Resident Evil 5: Desperate Escape Resident Evil Revelations 2 Resident Evil 6 Resident Evil 7 Resident Evil 7: Not A Hero The one thing that's really noticeable, even more-so now with RE2 and RE3 being remade, is that the character designs for Chris, Jill and Claire are all over the place. If RE8 does include Chris, it'll be yet another character re-design for him. Although I won't mind that one as much, since i absolutely loathe "Tree-Neck Chris." I did like Jill's look in Revelations, not as big a fan of blonde Jill in RE5. Of all of them, I guess Leon's been the one that's been the most consistent, but he's only in RE2, RE4, and RE6, and now I guess if RE4 gets remade they'll make him look like he did in RE2. Claire got like, three or four different character models in Code Veronica alone lol. There's CGI Claire, cut-scene Claire, close-up cutscene Claire, and gameplay Claire. Ironically enough, the only one that looks decent is gameplay Claire. The question is, will RE4 Remake's version of Ashley still look like Gollum? I don't know where I'm going with this... I'm pretty sleepy.

I don't think it's a question of if, but when. Phil Spencer accidentally said Control was coming to Game Pass, and Remedy was like "NO IT'S NOT!!" Then it popped up on PSNow like, a week later. I'd bet dollars to donuts that it'll hit Game Pass whenever their agreement with Sony expires.

Why would the Lockhart replace the One X and not the One S? It's the S that needs to be phased out.

It's roughly the same length as REmake, though having to go back and pick up items you dropped probably pads the length a little longer. In all honestly, the length really depends on how good you are at remembering where everything goes. NOTE: The game will mark items on your map as long as you inspect them. For example, you find some magnum bullets in a room but don't have any inventory space? Just examine the item (it will say you can't carry it) but will then put a dot on the map. Pressing A will let you scroll through the dots and see what items they are. Same for any items you drop. Extremely helpful.

I just replayed through REmake as well, I'm doing kind of a marathon right now... but one thing struck me as interesting in RE that I had never thought about before. Which playthrough is considered canon? If you play through as Chris, then he and Jill escape with Rebecca and Barry is nowhere to be found. But the same goes for Jill's playthrough, Barry is there but no Rebecca. Since neither or them were ever referenced in RE2 or RE3.. or ever since for that matter, is it canon that neither of them escaped the mansion? Or did they both escape, but their characters were just kind of 'meh' to begin with and not worth following? It would be pretty dark to think you play through RE0 as Rebecca and get her all the way to the mansion, just for her to die in the explosion anyway. I mean, I couldn't give two shits about Barry, but with Rebecca being as young as she was in the first two games, it would've been interesting to check back with her later in life and see how fucked up it made her. Or how about this twist? Rebecca was just an undercover Ada Wong. She completely changed her ethnicity, that's how hardcore she is.

I just replayed RE0. One of the main reasons it got hate back in the day was because it took item management and cranked it up to 11. There are no item boxes, so you have to either swap items between the characters or drop them on the ground. Found tge grenade launcher but want to save it? Well, find a good room and just drop it on the floor. I usually use the main foyer and just drop all my random shit in it. But make sure you drop items far enough apart or trying to pick up a specific object will be a nightmare. At the time, the story was absolutely bonkers, even for RE. But that was before RE5 and RE6 said hold my beer. And yes, the leech monster is still one of the lamest RE creatures to this day. Its just... Dumb. But the exploration and creepy environments are top notch RE. I like to play through it on Easy just for the hell of it.

I'm waiting for I-10 Trucker, where you just drive in a straight line for 36 hours.

Man, i hope not. If there's any area that gives them the most creative freedom, it's the castle. If I had to pick something to cut, it would probably be the sewers or the cavern area with the boss fight in the hanging cages. I can see the game being separated into three main "Acts," the village, the castle, and the military base.

I thought I read something somewhere sometime that they were thinking of rebooting Crysis and/or taking it back to the open world setup a la Far Cry. Or I could have just imagined the whole thing.

I honestly don't know if Capcom should dare remaking RE4. The older ones were necessary due outdated hardware and controls schemes, but RE4 is still very playable. The ONLY thing I think they could get away with would be doing a remaster and just updating the character models and adding higher resolution textures. RE4 was a pretty long game and I have the sinking feeling they would cut stuff out... especially the 101 horrendous ways Leon could die. EDIT: I saw the news story after I posted this. Let's just say I'm skeptical. I'll need to see what they got first.

N64 - Waverace 64 Mario 64 was sold out, but i didnt regret picking up Waverace at all. I played the shit out of that game. Dreamcast - NFL 2K Gamecube - Rogue Leader That game was fucking excellent. Gameplay-wise, it still holds up, though i dont have a upscaler so it looks like ass. Xbox 360 - Call of Duty 2 I played that game on the demo kiosk at walmart sooo many times. Xbox One - Dead Rising 3 That game was fun as hell and looked amazing. Runner-up was Battlefield 4 but since matchmaking and parties were a shitshow at launch it was a pain in the ass getting a squad together. Even though i've owned most of the consoles, those are the only ones i've gotten on launch.
